New favorite activity: tent hunting
HarryPotter (DayZ) replied to treetop82's topic in General Discussion
Pretty sure I read that when someone puts things in a tent or pack they no longer 'belong' to the server so more of that item will spawn?? -
will there be a Boeing AH-64 Apache someday for Dayz standalone?
HarryPotter (DayZ) replied to joshua barreto's topic in Suggestions
Can we get nano suits? And stealth bombers? And some sports cars... Ferrari's, Lambos that kind of thing? Jet packs and lazers.... :) -

Stamina is coming soon. I reckon Zeds should have better stamina than us.. You should never be able to out run them -

Yeah buty point is you don't need to run.. Just normal pace jog in front of them while they sprint behind you... They catch you up, swing at you and miss again and again -

Yeah I'm not saying implement some ninja zombie moves before all the other core issues get fixed.. But you shouldn't be able to round them up so easily? -

Before I start I'd like to say I love the direction the new zeds are taking. They are much more of an issue than they used to be as you can just 1 hit kill them with an axe any more so as we we all know you have to sneak around town to avoid making them angry............ or do you? I have been experimenting with them and have come to the conclusion that the best way to deal with them is to aggro ALL the Zeds in a given area round them up and put them somewhere, and here in lies my problem... I have noticed that when a Zed runs at you you can jog in front of it and it wont hit you after a minute they slow down to walking pace this makes it very easy to round up a whole town full of them then lock them in a building thus making them almost irrelevant again. Now I understand if your fully geared around NWAF this style of play will get you killed by another player as it involves a lot of jogging around in the open but as a freshie on the coast it makes it very easy to get around them. I know they are not finished and the Devs still have a load of work to do on them and I hope that our stamina will be matched to theirs over time, but the fact they cant seem to hit you if your jogging in front them worries me a bit, they should be able to jump on your back or pull you over or something like that or at least be able to hit you? I feel Zeds are still too easy and take way to long to aggro on you (the devs could half the shaking head animation time) Anyone else noticed this about the Zeds... try it. Aggro one and just jog away and look behind you.. they swing to hit but miss every time. I literally filled the fire station in Elektro with them the other day and sustained no damage... this should not be possible or at least it should be very hard! (not having a dig at Alpha... just giving my zombie feedback sorry if its in the wrong place) -
DayZ Standalone Alpha Review
HarryPotter (DayZ) replied to tommyboy937's topic in General Discussion
Hi man Great to see a new player on hear not moaning about how hard it is to find all the big guns!! Im pretty new to the game as well and still die to stupid mistakes (mostly when I encounter other players)... I too had the leg brake-crawl for an hour-wait to die thing the first time I played. You live and learn. You can keep items after you die but you need a tent to make a camp and store your stuff.... And the reward?? Well, just living is the reward mate. Good luck in the wasteland ;) -
[UKA] DayZ UK Alliance Private Hive | Closed 5th April 2017

been playing on the 3pp server for a while now. Very good... stable.. low ping etc. Will be trying out the 1pp sever this week. Cheers UKA. -
Pretty much all of the southern coastal towns on a 50 pop server. I lost a character I had for over a month last night to a stupid mistake and decided to dick about on the coast for a laugh. Stayed in Elektro and came across tonnes of players most were lightly armed though. Sometimes though those towns are full of heavily armed bandits... A lot of people here will tell you it's not a 'valid' play style to PVP but if I've been surviving inland with one character for a month or more and he dies, then next spawn I'll be a coast rat for a bit just for the fun of it. Dead bambies everywhere so all you need is a knife and you have an unlimited food supply ;) I like to round up every zed in town into a big group and herd them into a building.. Very funny when an unsuspecting freshie opens the door!

Yeah I suppose... I normally play 4 or 5 different privates for the variety I do have a public character but I rarely use it. Still get in plenty of trouble on privates but meet cooler people (imo)

What is the point of public hive?

I found a U.S. One last night it had lots of stuff, 5 full mags, sights and m4 attachments + m65 jacket. No m4 though. This chopper was in the same place as a Russian one was earlier which had zero gear

In my mind zombie hordes should = dynamic events...

As per title.... I'll happily mooch around in scabby trousers and a ripped jacket. Why is everyone so fucking obsessed with finding sewing kits? -

I've never noticed anything like this.... I might be wrong though. It just bugs me when people complain that they got punched by a zed and it damaged their coat! As if it matters... -

Flanged mace.... What a let down -
Its a bit misleading to call crash site and cop cars dynamic events as they are static for hours at a time

So the way I read it was that the devs are going back to 0.54 loot system?
HarryPotter (DayZ) posted a topic in General Discussion
Just reading on the weekly status report.... "In an effort to mitigate the issue in the mean time, during the Wednesday maintenance period this week we will be switching servers over to the legacy placeholder loot spawning system. Unfortunately this means some of the newer items won't spawn, but it will keep the economies going until 0.56 hits stable branch." Thoughts......... If it means what I'm thinking it does it will make a lot of people happy.... I'd rather just keep the one we have now though??
