Error when trying to buy the game

Well the better then......I thought it will function like in the clone game called DeadZ...... I thought money will function like in the clone game called DeadZ, where there is a shop for players to buy things with it......but you are right, it is more realistic this way, so this is something I approve!

    DayZ is peaceful

A veteran, old-timer old-style gamer here, who just bought DayZ, and is downloading it right now. I hope to help restoring the fame of ma generation gamer's, proving modern youngsters we are still capable of providing them a fierce concurrency, as their worthy opponents or rivals!

Error when trying to buy the game

Just bought the game, downloading it right now! So watch out dear "survivors", you will all DIE soon!!! Just a joke, I actually wish I will have enough time to get a grip of the game, and shoot some zeds 1st for experience and money, then start with PvP action only when i feel ready for it......but I know it is too much in this game to ask for, even by a total newbie. I still wish human players would just "let me be" at least for some time......
  4. Despite having a verified user account on this site, each time I try to buy DayZ, after clicking on "buy" command, (not the 1st one, in the top right corner, but the following one when choosing between "supporter" and "basic" edition), the following error keeps appearing: Error in exception handler: The stream or file "/home/store/web/app/storage/logs/laravel.log" could not be opened: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/store/web/vendor/monolog/monolog/src/Monolog/Handler/StreamHandler.php:84 Could this be a browser related issue or problem? (using Firefox) This way I am unable to even find out further infos about those those 2 offers, and the actual difference between them, like for example if both of them are permanent, that is "life time" purchaces, what are the limitations of the "basic" edition compared to the "supporter" one, etc. Is the "basic" edition actually the "standalone" one? I read that Arma 2 is added as gratis in the "supporter" offer, so that's why I guess so.

Sorry, but it seems I still have some problems with Project Zomboid. 1st of all, I am unable to assign/bind mouse wheel for zooming in/out. When I click to change zoom controls, and move the wheel, nothing happens. 2nd, the search command still doesn't seem to function. I can now jump through windows by holding down my "interact" key, so it is supposed to function right, but still nothing happens when I hold it over searchable places. It bothers me a bit, that searchable content is not clearly marked, so I was just trying searching random furniture in buildings, and some garbage-like stuff lying on the ground on streets, (those look like they can contain some items or equipment), but as I said, nothing ever happens. I even tried opening my inventory while searching those stuff and furniture,, but nothing ever appears for picking up. I wonder what am I still doing wrong? Shouldn't there be some indicator marking searchable objects with possible result? (at least that's how it normally functions in most of other similar games)

Well true, maybe I didn"t hold the action button long enough, since I haven't notices any action happening......(like search progress indication or similar), and actually I haven't even manage to find a single piece of gear or equipment, although I saw some small icons which may have indicated searchable content. (although I did hold the action key for some short time then, but since no indicator was shown, I gave up) As for the resolution, 640x480 was the originally preset one when I started the game, so I guessed it is the proper one for my computer. (my graphic card usually perform an optimization when I run a new game for the 1st time) But even if that hasn't happened, higher resolutions would only make the images even smaller, right? And the keys I assigned to zoom in and out weren't functioning at all, that was the 1st thing I tried to do after starting the game, no matter how hard and often I pressed the zoom in key, nothing ever happened. So which is the version you play actually, meaning the one shown in that video? I noticed it has a "episode two" title......maybe it does already have all the issues I mentioned above fixed by now. (since it is obviously much newer than the one I tried)

You are right, let's check out if we are talking about the same game at all. Did you mean this one? For that's the one I tried, some 3.80 or 3.08 version of it, (round 380mbs long packed in 7z archive), and just as in this gameplay video, the character I control and zeds are so small I can barely even see them......on 640x480) resolution even. As for the windows, you may be right, I haven't played the game longer than half an hour, so I haven't tried all its modes out, but with the key I set for "interact", (not with AIs, but as primary action key), I could open and close all doors, while I couldn't do it to windows, no matter how hard I tried. As for its ambiance, atmosphere and graphics, I simply doubt Project Zomboid can be even compared to games like DayZ, even if you prefer playing "bird's őersőective" games to real 3D ones. After all the huge size difference makes that obvious enough...... Actually I wish, and hope you are mentioning a total different game, which would probably suit my taste, and meet my "zombie-survival game" expectations much better......

As I mentioned, I am a devoted fan of the zombie survival genre, and as such, I cannot imagine its (for me) so important atmosphere/ambiance without any role of windows, it would seem to me as having a birthday party without a birthday-cake, or playing pool (billiards) without the 8 ball. (I was a pretty good pool player before my eyesight started worsening)

BTW just out of curiosity, and all the praising comments I read about it here, I did try the game out......due my not so good, and recently even endangered eyesight, (by a large, malicious tumor on my only one existing/functioning eye), I couldn't even see the game clearly enough, everything is so small, even on 640/480 resolution......then zombies just appearing from nowhere, as if they spawn from the ground itself......and NO, I cannot smash, break, jump through, or even pass windows there either! (just for those who claimed the opposite) (deleted the game after round 30 minutes of playing, which was already too much time wasted on it) P.S. I am quite convinced, that nice looking graphics, and a high degree of realism are essential requirements of a real good zombie survival game. (this counts for both online and offline games) I can imagine playing small, entertaining "fun-games" like Super Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, Tetris, Mahjong, Bubble Shooter or some Match 3 type game without nice graphic and high realism, but definitely not an apocalyptic zombie survival horror game, which should require certain proper ambiance and atmosphere. (or is this only my old-fashioned approach again?)

Well, no offense, but I am still saying this despite being an generally old-fashioned old-timer gamer: If I would aim to play zombie survival games like Project Zomboid in 2015, I will buy back my old Commodore 64. (in case I could remember who I sold it to in round 1987-88)

Unfortunately, judging from this report, it doesn't look like that will happen for PC......at least not in the near future for sure. http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/04/12/pax-east-2014-state-of-decay-eyes-multiplayer-stays-offline/ So as for the best zombie survival MMO on PC, it seems I will still have to satisfy with DayZ, (at least for now), with or without functioning windows...... Or are there other suggestions?

Ehhh, its just that after playing State Of Decay......remember all the window-crashes when zombies or my character jumps through them? But still no use without other, real human players, no one to compete with, even for teaming up I have only those dumb Ai characters...... Man, why can't someone make an online game like SoD??? Oh btw, I just found a game called Neither......anyone knows enough about it to compare to DayZ? According to its gameplay videos it has lots of pretty intelligent hostile AIs.......however the graphic seems worse than in DayZ.

Ok ok, I got your point now, so it's working only for doors for now. The 2nd part of your reasoning is also valid, I agree that barricading (blocking) windows should be implemented along with making them passable. (penetratable) This finally sounds logical enough, thanks, and sorry for all the misunderstanding! I just really hope both will be implemented ASAP, so I can finally buy the game...... But say, if players can already secure doors, does it mean zombie AI is already capable to smash simply closed doors, (which would be real cool), or it's meant more for blocking (preventing, keeping out) other human players for now?

Sorry again, but it seems YOU are the one who keeps missing my point. It was not about expecting my personal priority order to be followed, I merely pointed out a move which I consider for totally illogical and pointless. And despite all your (more or less valid) critics, you haven't answered to that special matter, which has absolutely nothing to do with the current phase of game development. So let me put it simple for you: WHY did DayZ developers implement barricading of windows, BEFORE those windows are even functioning? (meaning their penetration) What is the logic, the purpose of adding such a (so far) futile feature? Shouldn't they have waited with it till they fix windows functionality 1st? Just imagine the following, typical situation: You play an apocalyptic zombie survival game. (in our case DayZ) You run into a house, chased (or not chased) by zombies and/or other players. You close the door, then after checking you decide that the place is clean and safe. Then you start securing your temporary hideout, in order to prevent zeds and/or other players to break into it, by starting barricading its windows......which you KNOW cannot be penetrated by anyone or anything at all, not even bullets......now WHY would you do that??? (common sense) This was my actual question, I hope I made it clear enough this time. Or should I start a new forum topic about the sense of barricading non-penetratable windows?
