Who decided to make hacksaw's so rare?

Hacksaws are not all that rare, you just have to look in the right places. I might mention that if you are carrying around an extra izh43, the odds of finding a hacksaw in these places seems to diminish because of Murphy's Law. The most common place I find hacksaws is in the lean-to attached to the small sheds where a splitting axe can commonly be found. Also, the buildings with the lockers and shelves on the first floor, in cities. Other good places are the large garages with 3 large doors, and the medium sized industrial/agricultural buildings with the wraparound interior catwalk and small office on second floor. And here is the big secret I cannot believe I am sharing: Look waaaayyyyyy underneath wrecked trucks and especially those abandoned blue trailers, and sometimes inside the railroad boxcars. I usually keep a hacksaw handy to make sawed-off shotguns for peace offerings, and to destroy any Mo-Nags I can't carry away. I hope this helps.

    Tactical Underpants; Garters?

I've taken to carrying a set of brass knuckles in my pants or shirt, in case of a robbery. I can ostensibly comply and throw down my weapons and bags/vest, while equipping the hard-to-notice brass knuckles to later turn the tables on my captor(s). One big problem with this defense strategy is that they could order me to take off my clothes before I can change the knuckles' inventory status to "held in hands". It would be a great help if the developers could add a clothing item that cannot be removed after being worn, unless ruined or replaced with a similar item. Come on, who is gonna want to steal some dudes nasty old post-apocalyptic underwear? Two slots would be enough for handcuff keys and the knuckles, or a derringer. I've still never managed to get any good use out of the derringer; way too puny to use against the current (teleporting) zombies, and practically suicidal to approach another player with. Imagine getting handcuffed and strip-searched, only to pull a concealed pistol out of your underpants and headshot both of the now-complacent bandits as they rummage through your strip-searched survivor's stuff.

    Obrez Pistol (Sawed-Off Mosin 91/30)

Working the bolt has got to feel a bit unwieldy for a right-handed shooter.

    Hey... You friendly?

I'm about 70 hrs in and maybe had three good runs of more than a couple hours. First people I saw were in Electro after looting half the town and power plant, with decent finds. noticed a commotion from firehouse roof and looked down for about ten seconds before getting shot in the back. Next was south of Solnichniy and we both sat down after waving and hands up but then he flew off like on an invisible magic carpet. Last two were from the same life; first in Zaprudnoe near the police station, saw a ghillied up guy see me across the street as i opened the front door to leave, we both bolted off in opposite directions after both moving slightly for a better view. the last was basically a twofer, met a low geared friendly, and offered him a makarov, which he declined; told him about my many gear stashes the server reset was going to destroy, including a military tent. We decide to loot the firehouse for bandages on the way out, and as I approach the tower stairs, dude starts talking about a zombie and then I get shot four times by a dude with a rifle who popped in. He proclaims "DAYE ZEEH!" I had hi-cap vests and hella ammo, as well as MP5-K and almost enough netting and burlap for a full ghillie. KOS is fucking stupid when you got hoarders like me who go around like fucking Johnny Appleseed trying to give away instructions to concentrated stashes of ammo and attachments/handguns. Only explanation is machismo and wanting to ruin someone's day.

    I like to aggravate Bandits.

I'm not a bandit, but it sure does seem like a better idea to let the new spawns explore and go get some loot before they off them. I know the bandits would still have better stuff, but wouldn't the perceived loss be greater, thus increasing the Schadenfreude?
