I'm pretty sure the problem is not with the information out there, but rather with your unwillingness to understand and accept said information. It makes no sense for them to work on something as trivial as vaultable walls and breaking mechanichs similar to invisible bushes, being added to the windows at this point. They are actively in the process of of altering some of the core mechanics of the game and may not have applied the same priority as you have, to setting up window ingress/egress (much better words than penetration, especially when used as much as you like to). So if you still refuse to grasp why they aren't adding the bells and whistles before they get the wheels rolling propelry, I must either assume you have special intellectual needs, or that you are just anohter dumb a-hole on the internet who doesn't understand that the world doesn't always have to bend to your personal whims. Wait until the game is complete, and full reviews are available, if you really have such an explicit line-item list of demands for your major purchase. Expecting what you demand from an alpha is about as obstinate as going into a McDonalds and cussing out the manager because they don't have linen napkins and tablecloths.

Thanks. I'm way down with it just being alpha still. I mostly just want some company while exploring the map and figuring out the good paths, campsites around the map. Been looking for a partner to take walkie-talkies into towns to drop and watch for someone to come within earshot; maybe see if they are trusting enough to follow instructions to the first note of a scavenger hunt. If you got the stalking down, I can usually navigate the forests and hills without a compass; until I run across buildings that aren't on the maps, or new towns without signage. But that's still part of the fun for me, exploring the entire map--not just where some wanker on YouTube tells you to go for best loot. -
Why is such a drastic increase in enterable buildings considered a good thing?

Feels like playing in developer mode quite a bit. I know the zombies are just placeholders, but having twice as many wouldn't hurt my feelings; especially if we could use a ruined cooking pot to render them down into heating/lamp oil for future use. -
Doesn't salmonellosis cause diarrhea? You should have had to remove your pants to avoid ruining them, maybe also boots. That would also cause rapid dehydration, and the possibility to vomit. That disease should have made you have to hunker down someplace with easy acces to water, that couldn't be polluted by the sickness.

Yeah, don't worry about Sacha, some people just don't understand that they would be more at home playing ARMA 2 or 3; where KOS is the only accepted/expected playstyle. Some folks just get more joy out of trying to ruin other people's experiences, and then blaming the victim. I really hope they can fix this community eventually. Sure, I could just shoot everyone who happens to walk in front of my scope, but that's not why I came to DayZ. Maybe one day we'll see accounts banned for griefing. Until then we can only just wonder why these fools don't go and play a game better suited to their expectations. (And yes, I do realize any KOS trolls reading that last line would also happily apply it to people whining about the KOS problem.)

So what exactly do you do? Just hunt and fish and camp in the hills? Maybe practice stalking other players? I met some people through recruitment forums, and the OP kinda turned into a dictator. He kept insisting everyone go to Cherno and Elektro or Balota. Even if you stay hidden thelife expectancy on a full server is less than an hour down there, what with random leg breaking hackers, and all. I'd be open to other play styles besides my current lone scavenger, or the failed "let's go do what I just saw on youtube" strategy. It just gets boring running around the woods by onesself; I could have more fun doing that IRL, because I could take my dog. Add me on Steam if you like: emuthreat. -
Might one suggest your reading of the devblogs? Just a few moments' research can get you all the answers you need. Based on the plans to update the renderer, and the zombie AI just being a placeholder for now, I would assume that they want to wait to implement certain functions so they don't have to redo the work once the major changes are implemented. It's kinda like painting a house, before you replace the siding and trim; just doesn't make sense to work that far ahead.

I can see that you are pretty adamant about this, maybe I'll see you on the hill. -

The point is that when you get randomly sniped by some asshat on a hill terrorizing a town, you can run back to one of many areas of the map that you had stashed extra bags of gear. You can get everything you need to avenge yourself, all in one place, from the location most directly between your spawn, and where you got killed. I'm gonna be doing some cleaning-up in the hills. -

And if you spend all your time lying on a hill above Cherno or Elektro, shooting anyone unlucky enough to grace your field of vision, you might eventually get jumpy and start hearing things. Perhaps spending some quality time with living humans could help to reaffirm one's correct perception of reality, in-game. -
Fix these two easy/small things and the game will be amazing

Yup, those two boxes of 7.62x54R I left behind to make room for this sewing kit, sure would prefer to have those now instead of this ruined jacket.. -

I know your pain. It makes me feel super great about leaving extra ammo behind to keep a leather sewing kit with me. -
Found a truck Monday on my regular public 3pp persistent server. Thursday morning the truck was gone, and my pants were ruined; apparently those trucks despawn pretty roughly. Found it in Stary Sobor, the middle of the agricultural complex NE of town. Also had a fuel can disappear outside Grishino. I stashed it under a tree after filling it, and went to check a few things. It was gone when I came back after ten minutes.

I'm basically in the same boat. What do you do to avoid getting too bored and becoming a KOS troll? I just had a mountain of drybags disappear on the Wednesday maintenance because I couldn't find anyone to share with. I lost an MP5K, and plenty of other primo gear. If you'd like to trade or collaborate on supply runs, let me know what region you are in so we can try to find a good ping server.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug, I got lost a few days ago in the hills between Pogorevka and Vyshnoye. Once I found a good place to get my bearings, I confirmed that the worn compass was backwards (N=S,E=W). After searching for a couple hours, I finally found a pristine compass--that was also reversed. Logging out and eating a sandwich, then logging back in seems to fix the problem. The sandwich may be inconsequential. Need to run more tests with stir-fry, burritos, etc.

Yeah, like if a person is losing their sanity, the client side could spawn some buggy bunnies around the insane person. I get freaked out every time I hear strange footsteps, cans opening, gunshots, and half-wails of zombies. Not only would this constantly raise the stress level of the player, but it would also render them a tactical disadvantage, as they would never know which sounds were in their head, or actually another player or zeds. -
Battle eye should have notified you dozens of times in the last couple days about the Wednesday server maintenance window, in which all servers are unavailable.

I always carry two primary weapons, it helps out with transient ammo scarcity; doesn't mean I'm not friendly. The extra primary could be for you, as I usually have a couple sawed-offs, and either a longhorn or magnum, as well as an automatic pistol. It's amazing what a few extra pairs of cargo pants can do for your security preparedness.

Most of the time if you stash a yellow drybag under a tree and back away at least ten meters, it will be invisible to passers-by, especially if there is the medium-short weeds around. only have to put your bags about twenty meters off the beaten path, and nobody will notice--most folks on my server just pop in for a moment to search a few spots, and leave. I plan to make a stash trail to Berezino from Gorka, and leave a trail of notes as clues as I go to the coast. read every piece of paper you find in a bag or in clothing. -

I want to be a trader / treasure map vendor. I am perfectly happy scooting around the map collecting decent gear. I am looking for a way to distribute it without restarting a character. I only need a couple hours to find everything I need, considering that I don't server-hop and that heli-spawns don't happen on my server right now. I just want to meet friendly people to play with, and I though trade/donation might be a KOS deterrent. What do I care if i get robbed? It would take four to six players to carry off all of my gear from even one drop site; maybe three if they only took the good stuff. I'd actually appreciate a handcuffed sprint to a bag-drop at this point. -

No tools, except hacksaws; I mostly collect Sawed-offs and pistols, and magazines/attachments. -

I use this tactic already, and much to my delight, many of my stash bags have been recoverable by re-spawning into the same server and surviving long enough to go check the spots. I learned my lesson picking a different server from history when the "play" button sent me to the server list; my memory for stashes is perfect, I knew that's where I put my tent, and finding the right server proved it when I spawned in the middle of it. My point was that currently this persistence is weekly, so I want to trade or set up scavenger hunts for fun before the loot disappears. I have many P-1 pistols, a couple CR pistols, FNX mags, an MP5K, repeater, SKS, CR rifle, and all kinds of ammo an' food and attachments that I want to trade/reduce/give away before server reset on Wednesday. -

I've considered that option, but so far the only contact I've had for days was a creepy-as-heck rabbit; slow half-steps punctuated by two half-gunshots and two half-zombie howls, repeating over a few minutes before I chickened out and logged out in Grishino PD. -

I just stuck with the first server I found with reliable FPS and minimal desynch; not into server-hopping for loot, i can scour the one I am on quite well. I found a truck last night, and simply want to give away/trade what I can't keep to try and meet some people. I believe I expressed the futility of my stockpiling, this post was an attempt to put my exploration and collecting this week to good use. ; ) -
Good luck seeing the target through the barrel if you are trying to hit anything past the zeroing capability of that gun. Accuracy would be a matter of judging how completely hidden the target is, under the barrel of the gun. Maybe just keep both eyes open and try to manage the parallax? At least leave the PU scope in the game.
