Ruined, perhaps? Edit: Like Bigbadchuck said.

No sir, I must assure you that you are doing it wrong. I don't know anything about you, but I assume that you are playing the game completely wrong in every respect. :P Seriously though, I just don't like wasting the food. You know there are starving children in Kamyshovo that would kill for a bite of what you horked up. LOL

I try to solve the problem without vomiting, as I feel that it is a bad idea to vomit in a survival context. As long as you don't stuff up at a well, it's not a big problem. I will ususlly eat/drink all once I am healthy, and never have a problem. If you have to vomit, you are doing it wrong.

Good to know, My trucks and bags were gone this week, but stayed last week; same server. Last weeks maintenance duped a couple protector cases at my old camp; I went back to check for old bags when my closest truck was still parked where I left it. Unforutnately the bag that I put those in disappeared off my back to a non-scheduled server restart while in the process of moving camp again (clanmate lost his sense of humor and teamkilled, then complained of starving; I offered to drive him to a loot-vomit of food but then I just kept driving until he passed out and raged--best LOLZ kill ever!). Anywho, I wonder if the disappearing bags with unintentionally duped gear are now getting cleaned up by the servers, but late by a few days. It was very interesting learning of the different Peersistence behaviors between servers. Does anyone know of a dedicated Presistence Science thread?

Wind plus the existing sway would be enough to make sniping the most difficult aspect of the game. Maybe once they fix bipods, more 'manual' zeroing would add benefit. Imagine if they just ran a full kinematics simulation for each and every shot: Each round being of specific mass and initial velocity, its trajectory dependant on the round fired, the barrel length, spring/gas action/braking/surpressor forces involved, as well as the inclination of the barrel at the instant the round is fired. Wind speed and direction, air resistance, and (to a lesser degree) acceleration due to gravity would be secondary to these. I'm all for it, but I don't know enough to say if it is Improbable with the planned engine for Dayz SA. Pun intended. Go Physics!

Use a drinking container for maximum efficiency; eat and drink little, but often; deal with it over time and you will get back to full health, eventually. I had grey and blurry for a couple days before. People said it is a bug, and to just suicide or vomit. I fixed it with a little comon sense, and a LOT of patience. Runnig to a well as a fresh spawn and drinking until full will leave you playing catch-up for hours. You cannot heal while stuffed, AFAIK, so slow and steady wins the race.

why are there so many novodmitrovsk area spawns?
emuthreat replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
Lucky truck, ha! You must play only Pers OFF. Last week I had a stable of five trucks. Every wednesday morning I roll around my Persistent 'home' server, stashing every truck that I drive past off in the bushes somewhere to pick up later with some help. Once you get them all spread out a bit, you should never have to run for more than fifteen minutes. The north is a goldmine--or possibly a uranium mine, given its proximity to a military base. -
From my experience, the only way to go from pristine to ruined in one hit is to take one of their lunging attacks. Once a zed is mostly stationary, you won't take nearly as much damage. Now if only the cancel action would work at wells.

The tent city near Myshkino is only valuable to some players, mostly those looking for tents and vests, or a gorka helmet w/visor. I went there last week early in the morning after maintenance. I found more than a couple wool dresses with full pockets near the pick-up trucks, a couple drybags with screwdrivers, and other basic gear. It looks like a place that seansoned bambis go to get basic military gear in relative peace. Always enough food and water to make it a reasonable trip. As far as the SKS/AKM debate goes, the AKM is superior for all of the reasons listed before, but the SKS is still a viable primary weapon; especially if you have at least two extra stripper clips. If i were carrying an SKS on my back as a primary, I would probably also have a Longhorn for scouting or picking off distant threats. It appears that after a couple hundred meters, zeds won't hear the 7.62, so I often use the longhorn to clear out little towns such as Nadezhdino. If you roll with the SKS, use it only for engagements between 50 and 100 meters, carry a sawn-off for buildings/streets, and a longhorn for any long range stuff. You can either play for your kit-stlye, kit for your playstyle, or die becuase you don't understand what you are doing. Remember, if the Longhorn, SKS and Sawn-off won't fix the problem, use your legs. There is no shame in running away from a tactical disadvantage, in fact, your ability to flee the situation may be the only survbivable option at the time. I've been called a pussy before for swimming away from the willow-bush island in front of the prison while under-fire. Guess what? I was the only one in my group that survived, out of five that spawned-in in such a tactically disadvantaged place. There is no way that we could have fought back against two snipers on the island plus maybe two more on the mainland: they found our truck sitting out there, drove it back to the mainland, and camped out waiting for us to log back into the persistent server. I'm sure the only reason I survived was because the snipers both thought they got me, along with the other swimmer (requiescat in pace), and refocused their efforts back on the little island. There is no way that I could have saved my teammates' gear, but I did manage to get my haul safely back to dry land--to share with those that didn't fare too well. There's no shame in running away: there is no officer with a gun to your head, forcing you to run into machine-gun fire with an SKS.

True. I've lost two hunting backpacks this week, containing MP5 with all the fixins, a couple ammo cases, couple protector cases with pristine optics, FNX surpressed, hand grenades, extra HI-cap vests. Both times I was moving bags to a new stash when the server reset, the bag I was wearing was gone when I came back, also not in the tree I just chopped down to get access. @OP The important thing to remember is not to get attached to your gear. Or as I do, just find and stash multiples of all the things you really want to hang onto. The freedom of knowing where there are more of your favorites makes the game a much more relaxed experience. I'll usually run out with no pack, and a ruined assault vest+ruined gorka, that way I can find better stuff and bring it back, and anything lost is of little value. I gave up on tents a few weeks back because they are super obvious, and since they don't stay for more than a week, it is a lot less work to just find a good clump of trees to hide your stuff. As long as everything is in a bag, it should survive the week. edit: Also, 9PM eastern is the weekly maintenance time. Daylight savings time had me confused last week.

why are there so many novodmitrovsk area spawns?
emuthreat replied to Wookieenoob's topic in General Discussion
Would that be the area northwest of Toploniki and directly north of Sinistock? I went up there a couple weeks ago to fish and live off the land, but no animals are up there, and the big pond by the field up in the NW corner was dry; someone forgot to add the water. -

That is starting to make pretty good sense, but I still wanna see better NEAF loot and map balance. As it is, the map is pretty broken up. And the area from Balota to ZG and Tent City--> Vybor-NWAF is a bit concentrated with the loot. More military or police lootspawns, with lesser chances of spawning the really good stuff, shoudl help to move people around more randomly. Spawning on the edge of the grassy nothing would make things more interesting, but NOVO to Sverograd would become a mountainous chokepoint replace Cherno as the quick access PVP place. If anything, the survivalists would appreciate the peaceful hills and coast between Solnichniy and Prigorodki a bit more. Maybe with a north spawn, Staroye could be built up and made a bit more significant to balance the region; great spot for a poilce junkyard or other unique loot draw. -

That sounds like a good idea. At the same time, it sounds like setting a precedent of intentionally tuning the game to impede the most popular playstyles. Might not want to open that can of worms just yet. -

Lopatino, HA! Right next to the airfield, never gonna happen; everyone and their brother would just jump off cliffs until they got the military loot spawn. I've spawned in Svetlojarsk possibly more than any other area, if you count the coast north of Rify Head. Svet isn't bad, but I'd like to see about twice as many trucks, or maybe worthwhile loot at Krasnostav. -
Full auto weapons have nothing to do with Cernarus atmosphere, nor survival lifestyle
emuthreat replied to lucianpin's topic in General Discussion
Might be onto something here with the No-Spawn zones around towns or structures. Kind of like after a death you have certain places that you can spawn, they should just have many more places to spawn. It could just spawn you back into a server at the closest available point, perhaps checking availability based on proximity of other players and AI. -

I sure hope you are getting paid well for selling out my trade secrets... -
Pristine waterproof clothing such as a raincoat or Gorka jacket can also get the heat a-rising, especially if you sprint. I usually just lay down in a creek for a few seconds, and try to run in the shade. The shade makes a difference; I tested it running from Novo to Ratnoe. Even after a few seconds out in the open, I started heating up; back into the shade and temperature stabilizes.

Yes, persistent servers will keep your dropped gear until a patch comes with a persistent item wipe on Wednesday morning (didn't wipe this week AFAIK). Guns, backpacks and their contents, pelican cases, first aid kits, gasoline cans, and lime will all remain on the ground through a week of play on a persistent server. Trucks will also remain where you park them, until moved by another player. Bags and guns dropped inside trees and shrubs will sometimes be unavailable in the vicinity inventory screen, until the tree is chopped down. Have fun building your nest-egg, the real challenge comes in deciding what to keep on Tuesday night.
-
I generally make up a "keep" bag each Tuesday night, and stuff everything I can into my HI-cap vest and gorka gear. With a few pelican cases and ammo boxes, you can keep more than enough. I've been toting around 400 mosin rounds, an extra drum mag and cases of optics and surpressed pistols for a couple weeks. Sadly the tents have to go, unless you can find and initiate a new person into the camp each week. I really hope full persistence comes around soon, I'm doing way too much inventory management.
-
It is irrelevant that the items will disappear when fixed, as that will likely come with a full hive wipe. I know people who do it, but I prefer to just use more backpacks and save my rags for important purposes. You'd be suprised how much blood you can lose while struggling to empty a fireplace and break it down for a rag.

HaHaHa, yes! Nothing makes feel better about having a big ol' cargo truck stopped dead in its tracks by a knee-high sapling.
-
I wasn't sure if logging out in a stuck truck would kill me, but now I know a few more workarounds. My driving is sketchy enough without trees stopping the truck dead in the middle of the road, or magical ramps in the middle of fields tossing the truck around. If anyone played State of Decay on XBOX 360, that is a good example of how not to do vehicle physics in the finished game. The two fastest cars, the rally hatchback and carballo, could easily outrun the renderer. I lost count of how many top tier vehicles that I PERMANENTLY destroyed by hitting a fire hydrant that didn't render until my car already exploded. I usaully have multiple trucks on my "home server," so I'm more likely to just wait it out and go use a different truck. The tree-eaten truck was safely on the ground when I came back to check on it yesterday. I'm just never sure when it is safe to get out, if my view of the truck matches what the truck is actually doing. I've seen people flip trucks and get out while I was still seeing the truck taking 100 foot bounces, because he said it looked fine; then died to an epileptic truck. I hate to lower myself to ghosting a truck, but maybe it's the only way sometimes.
-
I usually try to stock up, so I can just come back and get them when convenient, but you might be hearing from me next time I cause anything novel. Lately I like to RP as an eastern European taxi driver... "I park in tree, you no like!?!"
-
When I approached the truck everything was fine. I forgot the screenshot because I was talking to someone who needed a pickup, and was directing him to another truck I had stashed. I still forgot the screenshot though, I'm working it into muscle memory. I even forgot to take a screenshot when we made it back and drove another truck under the treed one. Still, never heard of a truck eating tree before, and I've taken the four-year-old-with-a-tonka-truck-ride plenty of times, but never been in a truck hammok before. I'll see if I can duplicate the results, for those that prefer picture-books, rather than a thousand words on it.

How do I get to weapon under blue trailer?
emuthreat replied to vfxtodd's topic in New Player Discussion
Those trees are good for more than just hiding yourself. I routinely use them as storage space and car alarms. Park a truck outside a village, but right up touching a tree, and it will take a very steady-handed thief to survive opening your door. If you get right up on the trunk and drop a bag or a gun, the tree will hold onto it for you, and it won't be visible in vicinity inventory until tree is cut.
