I think it'd be nice to have a shared satellite map on encrypted GPS radios. That way if you meet a friend, you can give them the passcode for your map, and allow them to see all of your waypoints. It should of course, be very difficult to get these things working.

Ever play State of Decay: Breakdown, on level 5+? Plenty of horror there from the sheer amount of zombies after you, coupled with the stamina system. I think DayZ can more than deliver a similar horror element once stamina is in and infected numbers can be increased. Dynamic respawn working properly could put severe strains on a player who is unprepared for killing most immediate threats while trying to make a quiet retreat. I don't think much more will be needed, besides number of infected, and limits to your sprint. Surpressors will become lifesaving tools.

Spot guy running out of house when on a server with only one other familiar person across the map. Shout that player's name in direct chat. Check server roster and see THREE players online. Watch as the frightened guy logs out behind a wall.

Crash a sedan. Loot nearest town for wheels. Find 4 offroad wheels, 2 single and 1 double truck wheels, 1 double and 2 single bus wheels, ZERO sedan wheels.

Add me on steam if you want to go hunting sometime. It is a rare occasion anymore, that I don't know exactly where I am. I use both DayZDB, and Izurvive maps in tandem on a second monitor, as well as on my phone. Functional cartoholic, I be. Edit: 3/6/2016 ~14:00 PST Boar sighted 070/060, ran east to 072/061, turned north to 072/058, where it stopped fleeing, and I shot it. --Spotted from sedan at 70 yards, only startled it when I got out. #roadhuntingminusroads (Longhorn) 3/6/2016 ~16:00 PST Boar sighted 057/073, ran to 058/076, spooked again, ran to 058/073, spooked again, ran towards 058/076, shot it on the run. Same technique, car spooked it twice, but no sway from driving makes easy shot on moving target. (Longhorn) 3/6/2016 ~16:08 PST Goat sighted fleeing Vyshnoye 065/092, spooked with sedan at 067/093, chased on foot towards 069/093, spooked towards 068/094, shot it. That goat ran so fast, I thought it was a grey fox at first. (Longhorn) 3/6/2016 ~18:45PST Spooked a herd of deer by Pogo/Rogovo 048/089, spotted them stopped at 045/090, shot one doe and collected, spotted remaining two at 048/088, shot buck, shot remaining doe stuck on power post while fleeing at 047/089. (Longhorn) Video to follow...

Discussion: Would the community at large hound the Devs less if did more low key interactions on the forums?
emuthreat replied to narchy's topic in General Discussion
Just my two cents here, but aren't these forums, the "official" DayZ Forums? It would make much more sense to me, and probably many other people, if this place were to be the preeminent source of any development information; with a delegated task of then linking to the information here, through all other relevant media. Since I love analogies so much: The president of the United States delivers the State of the Union addresses from the White House, the Supreme Court delivers their rulings from the Supreme Court Building, the crotchety old man tells kids to get off his lawn from (you guessed it) his front porch; so why not the Devs, from their own house? I hope that's what you were getting at when mentioning the integration of the new forums systems to "achieve just this end." -
Is there any hope left? Please tell there is!

Looks to me like he was "Beaving" just how one would expect. -
I was merely voicing my safety concerns. But thanks for stopping the search for knowledge at my post, it smuggs the hubris all up in my feels.

Kamenka, the town with two gas pumps that sits just south of Pavlov mil base? Maybe you'd do better pimping them out for food and building materials.

Nice work on the map. Do you need help with adding more of the yellow lines? I can hold off and watch the next time I sight a herd of deer or cattle. I normally just hunt opportunistically while on other missions. Maybe I will give this map a fair try sometime to see how it pans out. Did you intentionally leave out the best hunting areas? A few of the places that I can fairly consistently find animals are not marked on this map.

Spend time in French Indochina much?

Am I the only one who kinda misses the feel of the self-moderating forums for that week or so? No disrespect to the mods; welcome back. I'm just saying it was nice to see that things didn't get too out of hand with no moderation. You know aside from the angry mob throwing fruit at the occasional nonce.

Total non-sequiter about avoiding DayZ base building because of what happened in another game. I'm not telling you how to play the game, but I'm actively using my early access time to familiarize myself with the base building mechanics, viable location testing, and moving large amounts of loot in an efficient manner. But then again, to each his own, you seem like a survivalist at the core, where my main goal is logistics, with hunting and fishing as an opportunistic endeavor. -
Holy shit! LoK is back!!!

Okay, okay, you caught me being flippant. Maybe it was his suggestion of 20-30 rifles to fit in a trunk that set off my safety-conscious reply. I do like Buakaw's suggestion of having different shapes of inventory availability, perhaps one rifle slot per person would be a good fit. Filled backpacks absolutely need to be able to be put into storage, both vehicles and tents/barrels. It is also a good suggestion that the vehicle inventory be broken up into different shapes; makes me think in terms of individual containers such as door pockets, and back of seat pouches for smaller items, and larger ones can go into the trunk. Four rifles and four backpacks would be my minimal suggestion for the trunk capacity. Never, would I ever consider putting more than half a dozen rifles loose in a trunk; even then, softcases or blankets would be mandatory to prevent damage or accidental discharges. Now a truck with a purpose built rack.... Here's to hoping that burlap bags will eventually have more than two uses.

I would be interested to know which aspects of the CLE are to be changed for.60. It would be great to see something resembling patchnotes for .60. (I believe DayZ calls them Standup Notes) You know, like a bullet point list of things that have, or will have changed for the release of .60. It would be nice to actually see a list of the new things to test again. I remember when that was actually a thing; where the status reports would address the finite list of things actually going into the next patch with some degree of detail. I miss that...

Who would put 20- 30 loose, loaded, assault rifles in the back of a small car!?! Stay off those bumpy roads, survivor (for now).

Using newui, as dirty as it feels because of the vertical column looting capabilities, is much easier than carrying around a tire iron and an 'adjustable spanner'.

It would appear that every camp left on my home server spontaneously, and completely de-spawned sometime yesterday, or possible the day before at sometime after 6pm Pacific. Vehicles and vehicle inventories were left intact, as were a few wheels that I had set out for efficient collection. No less than ten camps, of varying ages and states of completion, all appeared to have disappeared simultaneously. The probability of all of these camps getting hoovered up in some sort of concerted interdimensional heist is just not significant to consider in this case. Has anybody else experienced anything similar? Does anybody actually use storage at this point of the game?

Make sure you use a tire repair kit every time you stop, or hit anything. Even if they are still pristine, right click over them just to make sure, and repair if the option is present. No major mistakes, and you should have a fairly low chance of flipping or lag-crashing, but it will still inexplicably happen from time-to-time.

Must have been a server error of some type. I'm certain of the 45-day rule, I learned the hard way because I took "directly interact" to mean manipulate inventory or open/close. This thread is about a complete and instantaneous loss of all camps on the server, regardless of age. Vehicles, however, remained. Thus my curiosity about why.

That's a somewhat modest camp, by some people's standards. You'll know a dupe-job when you see it.
