I want to say sorry to a player on our server, which i banned accidentally. I was looking over my logs and found a suspicious entry. But it was my fault. He will know who i mean. I have unbanned him and hope he will not get angry at me. You are still welcome on our server. We admins are powerless against those damn hackers. Nothing shows me what is wrong or right in the logs. Also the new tools for analyzing are not the best. It only shows us admins, what power we have to fight against hacker: Nothing. Big SORRY for that mate. Polli

Hi all A few minutes ago our server was hacked. All players where teleported to the debug forest and killed instantly. I shutdown the server immediatly which helped the most players to survive. What i find out is, that i didn´t can see the hacker in the log. No logins, except weapon pickups where is no name belongin to. I have no ID or GUID. I have nothing in my hands to get sure who the hacker is. I´ve banned accidently the wrong person because of the entrys in the log. I thougt they come from this player. But it was not. I unbanned him, but i think he will never come back to my server. I´m so sorry about that. We have nothing against the hackers.

Thanks. So in the end there is nothing what shows me the script what caused the hack. I hope the Battleye devs would do a better job to detect scripting.

Information: We had small issues yesterday with the network connection. We tweaked our network settings and this takes a while to find the right ones. It ends in a couple of restarts the whole server. Now this is fixed as server and connection are stable. Thanks for your patience. Polli

Bis vor 14 Tagen hatte ich auch noch Linux auf einem kleineren Root. Dann hab ich ein Upgrade gemacht und bin zwangsweise auf Windows umgestiegen. Und so unsicher wie manch einer denkt ist der Windows Server 2008 nicht ;) Bin absolut zufrieden damit. Einziges Manko ist der Apache, da ich den IIS runter geschmissen habe. Der Apache ist echt lahm und ich weis auch warum. Aber das ist sehr aufwendig zu beheben (Neuinstallation). Hast du denn deine Kiste auf Wine oder VMWare laufen? Ich hatte das Problem das die Treiber nicht wollten. Deswegen jetzt Windows.

Hi all 1. My players reported me that sometimes the sidechat is active with command-messages like: 1-1-A 1: "1, Cease fire!" I have searched my logs but i can´t find anything. I have forced my config-settings since the last days and I´m running now BEC which works fine. What i noticed is that the server has global banned a few people. I have the latest scripts.txt file and it kicks sometimes players for restriction #140, #54 or #3 I´m also have "only ASCii" for Nicks enabled and a BadNames and BadWords filter active. Since a few days my server seems to be free from cheaters. But the sidechat commands are still there. 2. I use an Opteron 3280 cpu, 16GB ram. My bottleneck are the hdd´s. These are only have 7200 rpm. I tried running my server with 4 cores. It works also, but the graphical details are much better with full speed settings (cores=8 Threads=7)

I think blacklisting the server for breaking the rules is reason enough for disable sidechat ;)

Im running a 8 core opteron. My server has 40 slots and the cpu load is at an averrage of 25% for DayZ. I use all 8 cores for DayZ. I don´t want to upgrade my slots to 50 because im also runnig a webserver on it. I think an dual core opteron isn´t strong enough for DayZ. That´s my opinion. Polli

I noticed that too :) But the ban-db is still a few days old. So the bans must come directly from battleye i think o.O

It would be great if it is, but it isn´t. I´m a server owner, and all server owners can see if there is a new ban or not. I don´t want to break the rules so i don´t tell any more details about it, sorry. There where no new global bans since a few days. I don´t know what about the local bans. I hope this information is enough and ok from dev´s side? Please delet/edit my post when not. Polli

If you use Steam, then start Steam as Admin. Use the verify file option and let steam repair your installation. If you had a non-Steam installation, then reinstall the game and patch it with the big 1.60 Patch (704MB) http://media1.gamefr..._update_160.zip After you installed all, you can download the latest patche from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php and install the newest beta. Hi all The newest update for Battleye to version 1.149 has renamed my script.txt to script_old.txt. I´ve tried to rename it, but when i restart my server, it has been renamed again to script_old.txt What are the changes for 1.149? can´t find any information about that. Or has someone hacked my Arma installation? Cheers Polli

Any news for a new script.txt file? I will start my server if there is an update. Otherwise i leave it off.

Do someone has an updated script.txt file? I dont want to start my server without battleye full active. I know that bypassers are difficult to detect, but a small protection is better than nothing. Thanks
