I'm finding that 3pp over the shoulder shooting is decent for close range. Nvidia's newest update to Shadowplay left an overlay of my settings in the bottom left of the screen.

Really like the idea of being trapped in a car due to a damaged door. I would think if one door is jammed then switching seats could be an easy out. Bashing windows to escape is another cool idea. Hopefully we can bash house windows too for escaped or for entrance :). Firearms sounds video sounded good. Maybe having another video showing the sound from another player's perspective at a distance. Looking forward to the new action behavior. Fingers crossed for the vehicle sync fix!

Wow! Can't wait to see the new reloading, R-Key functionality, and firearms jamming. Will we see hammer bite from the 1911? I'm thinking we'll be hearing a lot of magnums spinning. I guess this will mean that we'll be able to pump the hell out of a shotgun too. Can't wait!

What is the scrum schedule again? What will the next group be focusing on? Could make it a podcast. In regards to the weapon sway, seems like they are eluding to some kind of UI or queue to tell us when we would experience sway. But isn't having and seeing the sway an indication enough that you have sway? Do we need an UI icon to tell us this, similar to the old sound icon of the mod? Even if toggle-able would it create a grind to find the sweet spot in stamina, running, aiming? Like most additions, we'll have to see it first. Can't wait for more experimental branches to come out. After the long stretch of exp. for .58, I got addicted to them. Can't wait to see all those vehicles driving around carrying kill teams or saviors. Every time I see a video of NWAF I always think that I'll see my own death at some point. NWAF is definitely the place to go when you want action and to test yourself. Especially when you get bored and want a valiant way to go out before starting again. :)
-
We come across several different groups at NWAF. Lots of hide and seek that ends with shots fired. It's been awhile since I've been in this much action. After re-watching it a couple times I was where the my killer came from. I knew to check the burm as I was circling around the base but I wasn't thorough enough. Watching yourself play really helps you see what you did wrong and how to approach the situation differently next time. Also balaclava's make rags, Boom!

The Zombie Hunters: DayZ's least acknowledged play style.
blacktwin0 replied to ☣BioHaze☣'s topic in General Discussion
I remember when the devs did their first iteration of the infected AI. I was very interested and did some field research on how to use their new behavior for my benefit. I can't wait to see my old friends again. The Infected hunters will be a very fun play style. It fills the PVE co-op niche that this game can offer. However, I'll be trying to keep my friends safe by finding them cozy homes to settle in away from the harsh environment and hidden from would be hunters. Please knock first so as not to startle the new homeowners. :) -
I started off with the normal rag and flare. Rag goes on my arm to save inventory. I end up finding 3 matches and two cans of food. Nothing to open them. It's night time and raining. Getting cold, wet, and starving. Find a patch of rocks and search for the perfect rock to eventually make into a stone knife. With stone knife in hand I open one can of food. Inv: 1 can, 1 flare, 3 matches, one stone knife in hand. I want to keep the flare as a sure way to start a fire or for traveling in the dark. I find a tree and cut away some bark and cut down a branch. I carry my wooden supplies inside and drop them on the floor and collect another branch and bark. I cut up the branches into 3 sticks. 1 stick and 1 piece of bark and I have a fireplace. I place the fireplace in chimney of the house and craft a hand-drill, don't want to waste my matches. Added more sticks to the fireplace and worked that hand-drill. I look upon my nice comfy, cozy, warming fire as I finish my second can of food. The rain subsides and I am ready to head out. It felt so good to be able to find so little but have it make so much of a difference to my survival. I eventually have to farm apples for a little before I find a sweater. I also end up finding a couple dresses. Dresses can be cut into rags which yield 6 rags. 2 stacks of 6 rags and you can make improvised rope. I meet with a friend who has a burlap sack. The rest is in the bag.

Right now there is no way to curb abusing the ability to constantly eating in one sitting. Whether it's apples or cans of food, you can eat lots of food if you have it. If you are starving and eat enough to become full there is a small penalty to how much you've eaten but not to how fast you ate. To curb the "eat" spamming there could be a mechanism that looks at how fast you ate and give you gas if you eat too much too quickly. Have the effect similar to the current kuru disease in that a sound effect plays. In this case a fart sound. I think this would add immersion, penalty, and a little fun. To be able to sit around a campfire and eat with other players is always fun. Adding this suggestion would give the chance to really bring this experience to life. I've sat at many campfires and farting has always been a part of the experience. The penalty for consuming too much too quickly could kill you, You find yourself starving and need to scarf down some food quickly to get back to full strength. Next thing you know you run across a small group of players. You're hiding out, evading detection, when all the sudden your cover is blown by your own uncontrollable trumpet on your butt. Aside from all the random chances, farts are just funny. Add farts. :)

More options would be best. Fade time slider, force always on, force always off, transparency slider.

Wow, I'm an idiot! I really thought it was just a visual problem.... F11. Someone take all my beans.
-
Looking forward to the new EXP update. The floating loot is a little annoying but why is it considered a blocker?
-
Maybe post screenshots on your in game audio settings?
-
Lots of exp updates! Very nice. That infected Dean doesn't look too infected. When can we take clothes from the infected? I want the wife-beater and hat from the infected second to the left.

Spread out spawnpoints across Chernarus.
blacktwin0 replied to Killsteal's topic in General Discussion
I'd have to disagree with you OP. Coastal spawns make the inland travel risks much higher. Since when you die inland you spawn back to the coast, away from your body. With additional spawns, even a little more inland, would reduce the risk of going inland. Having coastal spawns also allows for higher player interaction, for better or worse. Having a wider range of spawns would make for longer times without interaction. I see people interaction as the key element of the game, again for better or worse in regards to how the interaction goes. -
So where's the actionnat these days....
blacktwin0 replied to HotHead3d's topic in General Discussion
No trucks on the coast. Trucks are inland. If you want extra mobility you need a truck. If you want to pick up friends, having a truck makes it easier. A lot people like PvP and player interaction, that is why the coast if so populated. That and spawn points. -
Saw the word "cantankerousness" and had to give away all my beans. This thread is silly. I can't believe that a person's sole reason to buy DayZ SA was because they thought it was never going to allow modding. Seems like an odd requirement when looking for a game. I can see the argument that mods will pull players from vanilla but that would be great. That would mean that DayZ SA has evolved into something better. Looking forward to seeing cows parachuting again.

I was watching a Youtube video last night and noticed how exposed the players were inside a house. I think having the ability to have be able to close window curtains or blocking sight into buildings would be a nice addition. I did a search in the forum for the word curtain and window and didn't see where it was suggested before. Something similar to Project Zomboid. Players inside and outside should be able to shoot through the curtains. Whether these curtains would show damage would be a question of time and resources. Would having craft-able curtains or blankets (3 stacks of rags) be a good idea? Being able to hang the curtains or blanket with nails. Now that I'm thinking about it, it seems that most the windows in DayZ are broken with no glass. Having the glass in the windows could allow for spray painting windows to help conceal what is inside. Spray painting world objects is already being worked on if I remember. The glass of the windows would need to be breakable, maybe allowing for glass shards for makeshift knives. Plus being able to throw rocks at factory windows would be fun. Breaking glass and walking on broken glass could be a sound source for pulling infected or as intrusion alerts. Overall I think having a way to lightly fortify existing housing would be a nice addition. Where barricading a building's windows with boards would be the best method, having lesser options would be nice too. Also these suggestions seem very time and resource heavy but would add a lot to immersion.

When are we getting shitting and pissing?
-
If not curtains then something else that would be an in-between nothing and boarded windows. Something softer and/or lesser rarity to complete. But then again maybe we're supposed to feel vulnerable. Thanks for the discussion :beans:

  :beans: Yes! That fall picture, man. Oh man, my jimmies be a rustlin. Can't wait for the new animations.

You need to add the option of "Not important now." or "Non-issue.".
-
LOL!!! It's been more than just once. You know it! :P That Biran is such a guy. Still so stoked about the upcoming update. Since big changes to "tech" will cause longer gaps between updates, will the Project-timeline be updated? Does anyone even use the Project-timeline (devs included)? Should we expect longer gaps from now on?

I've been holding off until .56 but now it's going to be another week. Oh well, it'll make the release all the more exciting. Can't wait to see what has changed. The new store building looks pretty nice.

Wonder if it make it to .56? -
That look like where my group set up camp. Well up the hill in the ruins. The barn next to you tents is where we parked all our trucks. My group is a bunch of hoarders.
