Misc: Gun Bags, Shoulder Slots, Weapon Kits, Player Movement...
schwaBAM replied to E.J.'s topic in Suggestions
I love the gun sling idea more so for the realism it provides. It looks rather dumb to see your gun on your back floating there. The gun sling would look much more realistic. I would also like to see the pistols fit in the pistol holster (the one that attaches to the plate carrier). It looks fine when standing still, but if you are in any other position, it pokes through the top of it and looks goofy. -
Nice video! I thoroughly enjoyed that.

"I just soiled myself" and other notes on 0.58.
schwaBAM replied to Kirov (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It has to be empty. I think it then "locks" the barrel for 4-5 minutes until completed. At least, that's what it did when my buddy was completing his leather backpack. -
I believe it's the leather backpack that you can make from pelts.

This is precisely why I started renting my own server. I would get kicked from low pops and mid pops. I was in a couple servers with 15+ people and I noticed one by one everyone being kicked before he/she kicked me too. This was on public servers mind you. So frustrating.

I've tried all of what S3V3N mentioned and I was able to do everything correctly in Chrome. Chrome is my default browser and I have had no issues using these forums. Not quite sure what's happening on your end man!

EDIT- NEVERMIND .. found a different post that kind of answered my question. Please delete -- sorry! You know the mice/mouse's that have several extra buttons on them? Something like this: Would I be able to bind those extra buttons in DayZ with no problems? I'm in no hurry to get a new mouse, but I thought this mouse and others looked pretty. I then got to thinking if I'd actually ever use those extra buttons. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UL2JXY6/ref=pd_luc_rh_sim_03_02_t_img_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thoughts?

Does DayZ support mouse's with multiple extra buttons?

Fun video with friends and a brawl at the end (the night before the wipe). The quality isn't the greatest because I had just reformatted my PC and was using FRAPS at the time (bleh). I have since upgraded the quality for future videos.

I caught that guy eating, hunched in the corner of the room next to the bed. He had a knife out and I had my silenced pistol in my hand. He was cool as a cucumber. I had fun chatting with him but I'm pissed I couldn't hang around longer to help.

DaveB, Eno, and I trotted around a high pop the last couple of days looking for trouble. We always end up in some type of situation we do not expect, but it is fun nevertheless. We helped a couple freshies on the coast and came across two semi geared guys run past the factory towards berezino. I could have engaged them but I opted to get a better position but lost some ground on them. I could have shot one in the right butt cheek but I held my fire as they slipped north (they never noticed me). Shortly after, we had a freshie ask us to kill him (for a better spawn) and then DaveB decided to cut him up and start a fire on the main road. We then decided to strip down and box each other in the streets. We dualed for a few moments and then f11'd while bidding farewell to .57!

I have a rather good machine (newly upgraded). What would the best in game resolution be along with the best output settings for Afterburner to obtain the best quality video? My monitor is 10:16 ratio What resolution should I use in game? What output settings should I use 16:9? 16:10? If more information on my hardware is needed, please let me know. **Edit: What resolution/aspect ratio would be best for youtube videos? Thanks!

Thanks. Hopefully that works. -
Recording question / Settings for best quality
schwaBAM replied to schwaBAM's topic in Troubleshooting
I hear you. I am basically asking for the best settings for the "output" for my video recording software. I use MSI Afterburner and it does not match my resolution but it uses output settings like 16:10 or 16:9, etc. If I had the game running at 2560x1600, then what setting should I use for my output? What ratio? -

Recording question / Settings for best quality

Err, yeah.. I meant 16:10. I'm curious what resolution I should run the game at (I think I can pretty much run at ANY resolution with my new rig). So combine that with what specific output ratio I should use on my video recorder.. what should I use for the output settings? -
Tag & Release – Hardcore – Captured an armed player peacefully, but it turns out he has a friend [5:14]

Love your videos. Eno, DaveB, and I tend to do similar stuff. We always poke our nose in other peoples business and hold them up or offer supplies (if we see they are without a weapon in hand). We tend to let more people go than kill them, but as you know, situations get out of control quickly. I definitely like it more than just KOS or avoiding entirely. The interaction keeps me wanting to do it more and more. Watching your videos gets me giddy. -
I really like the points you hit in this post. I agree 100%.
-
Meh, it's close enough to work fine. I do not see any reason to change it or worry about it.

I never said "rob". I typically make you drop your stuff or put your weapon away to make sure you're compliant. At that point, we normally have a conversation and try to establish some type of trust there after. I know that sounds a bit strange with me ordering you to holster your weapon or drop your gear, but there is nothing else that I can do in most cases. We then offer supplies and part ways. It makes the game more engaging and fun to us.Edit - we typically don't take ANYTHING from anyone, but i'm not saying I wouldn't if they had something I was interested in. There have been a few cases where I was close to taking a weapon or item.

I finally found myself stuck in a situation where I literally could do nothing to remedy the situation. I had logged out (semi geared) in the small green house in Kamywobo (the one with the stairs you have to go up on the side of the house). When I logged back in, my guy was underneath the house. I could run around and crouch, but could not vault or go prone. If I tried to kill myself, my guy would immediately drop whatever weapon was in my hand but still do the animation. I could not pick my weapon back up by looking at it, nor could I see it in the vicinity. I stripped myself of everything and waited to starve. My energy and thirst levels never changed and I never got cold.. Yikes! I logged in to a high pop and yelled for help. Two guys came by and offered advice but had no guns. The second guy went and found a guy with a rifle and I asked him to shoot through the wall/window at me. It did not work. They wished me a "good luck" as I sat there and left my computer for a couple hours. I was eventually kicked (or disconnected) from the server. I logged back in and I was able to re spawn. Yay.

I love this idea. It would definitely create some unique situations as well.
