Can a moderator...or anyone give me some advice?

The human psyche.. such an interesting thing. Here is where this game DayZ comes into it's own. When you die you lose everything, you have to start from scratch. Patience, time, tactical thinking, risk and effort can be rewarded. Sometimes it is all lost because of the most trivial of things. After a while you will die less from those trivial things and player interaction will be the main cause of your deaths. It all comes down to one thing; Trust. Do you have it? Are you willing to give it. Perhaps yours was taken from you so now you trust no longer? In the end you can never see what others are thinking. But there are warning signs that others have mentioned here in this thread. Be aware. Don't leave yourself vulnerable. Only when you find those you know you can trust can you turn your back on them. Until then you need to think tactically. Stick to the shadows and tree lines. Don't stay in places too long. Stay in control of the situation. Always have an escape plan. Always. Player interaction is a huge part of this game. How you choose to interact is up to you. Good luck ;)

    DayZ is peaceful

Heyas! I'm an Aussie from South Australia's Mid North. I've clocked up over 500 hours so far and have been encouraged by the improvements from the dev team so far. I usually play lone wolf, but don't call me a bandit. I certainly won't kill you unless it looks like you want to kill me. In fact, chances are you will probably walk right past me and I'll leave you alone and stay hidden. So yea, Polaris is my in-game name and I'm mainly on the 'Blacklisted society' server. (I'll) See you in Chernarus ;)

Who still uses Mosin (+LRS) for range kills?!

I've gotten a few headshot kills well over 600m with the Mosin. Prone. Rested. Warm. Patience. I still use it.

    Average Lone Wolf Wouldnt Survive

I started playing Dayz going in trusting - to a point, raising my hand, telling people I was friendly etc. A few times it was all good but usually when I had superior weaponry on show.. and almost pointed at them. Then they would be all friendly. I would die, and do the same thing, wave, say hi etc, but people would kill me if they were armed better than I. So I learnt my play style (and trust style) suits the lone wolf way. I will spend time out bush but regularly go into towns and military bases. Before I go in I study the place and watch people. I try to avoid people if I can. However many times I've crossed paths with 1-2 people who've tried to kill me and in turn I've killed them. Lone Wolf has it's strengths so I don't mind at all if the developers bring in crew fired weapons. You'd be surprised at how much confusion, panic and damage you can cause with a mosin if you remain hidden and plan ahead a little ;) Generally all I carry is the mosin, the Magnum and the fire axe.
