There are admins duping items on "US-50 Seattle 14"' date=' they're duping weapons, vehicle parts, etc. It's been confirmed via voice communication and text.

If you have the proof post in the Cheat Reporting forum, if you have not done so already.
Do not post bugs/gliches for everybody to see, you are not helping the problem in anyway.

Wow, 40%?
Welp, this is the last time I report exploiting.
Carry on gents.

I'm looking for people located in the following countries/areas:
UK
Northern Europe

If you do not mind me taking a minute of your time, please PM me, I'm interested testing new peering from the east coast, and would love to have some hard data on latency/hops.
Thanks!

Hey' date='
I plan on hosting some Servers myself now but I have some kind of luxury problem :D. My university offers free MS licenses, including Windows Server 2008 Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter/Web. Web has no RDS but I'm wondering which of ther other will fit the roles. I mean I dont want a giant OS eating half of my power for functions I dont use. Server is a Intel Core i7-2600 with 16 GB RAM.

You're going to want standard.

Okay so i have to set it up to 2 cores.
And what about zombies number?
The # of zombies is generally speaking related to how spread people are (they don't spawn if there is none in the area).
If you do not mind me asking' date=' what's the specs of the server? You can PM if needed.
Thanks.

This one is a dual E5620/12GBs of RAM/4x 300GB SAS 15K RPM drives in RAID10. The limitation is the monthly bandwidth :-/.
Ah, good to know. I'm also running dual E5620s, but with 64gb of ram, 4x 600GB 15ks in RAID10. On a 1gbps line.
-
It will. These are 4x 65s.
Server 1 uses 1-4' date=' 2 uses 5-8, 3 uses 9-12, 4 uses 13-16.

Ouch... that looks absolutely brutal.
Can anyone confirm that a second server on the box will be able to use different core(s)?
-
You do realise its in alpha ? to start hosting in mass has its obvious risks. Read HERE for more info.
Yes, I know it's alpha (even though that was a bit sarcastic).
And yes, I know it has risks. However, I first started offering minecraft servers when the first multiplayer server files were released.
Also, thanks for that link.
-
Aye, I might.
I also want to add that I am by no means flaming/taking down how things are being run. It's his mod, so he has full control.
I just do not feel comfortable renting our DayZ servers with a possible setup time of 10+ hours.
-
I spoke too soon! Whatever you did with the forums, props! It's zippy quick now.
Thanks Rocket and team.

Several topics on this already. They're working on it as fast as they can.
Oh I know, I've read them. However, there wasn't much information.
I can tell you deploying a higher end VPS and migrating a forum is something that can be done in less than 24 hours without rush.
I'm just wondering how many active connections they have, and how many database queries/second and http/second they are getting.
-
Perhaps it's time to upgrade the vps/server the forum is hosted on? :P
(If you do not mind me asking, what's the specs of the forum/master server, and are they located on the same box?)

Greetings,
I had emailed the @gmail with this question, however I have not heard back.
For the few of us here that may own a GSP/Hosting provider...
How are we supposed to provide quick setup to customers when we must wait on a DayZ dev/team to setup the server?
I would love to start offering fully managed DayZ servers, but I hesitate because of the situation at hand.
Can we have a standard expected turn around time? Or perhaps provide us with an SVN that will roll out updates.
I, and I believe others would gladly sign an NDA if it meant we had the ability to setup and manage servers. (Also, I would create a module for mintpanel API for easy setup).
Thanks for reading :)

I would be able to host another 50 Chicago player server on my dual Xeon box with plenty of bandwidth' date=' but you guys don't have Linux support yet. Is it being worked on or are there plans at all?

Why not just rent a W2008 license for 20/month?

How does the M16A2 have awful ironsights? I have never had problems with hitting targets at 200-300m with it in ArmA/ArmA II. You're just spoiled by collimators.
Speaking of collimators rocket should add batteries for them so running around with it requires you to find some extra items. As it is now they have infinite batteries sadly' date=' just like in vanilla ArmA II.
[/quote']
You do realize the modern milspec Aimpoints have a minimum rated battery life of 30,000 hours, and some of theirs have 50,000 hours.

Multicore support in Arma 2 is' date=' frankly, horrid. IIRC it never uses more then 2 cores and even then it pushes the majority of the load onto 1 core. RAM use for Arma 2 servers is relatively low and you can certainly get away with 2gb of RAM per server (Possibly less for small servers), not counting any RAM used by the host OS.
From what I understand of the other threads around here, a good Xeon server with CPUs running around 3ghz can expect to run 2 50 man servers if it has the bandwidth. The figures I've seen quoted tend to be around 2tb.
See also the thread in this forum explaining the requirements for a Dayz server. It answers most of your questions already.
[/quote']
Bah, was hoping that multicore answer would be different :(

We have opened up 5 new servers in the last hour' date=' across the globe. We are missing Asia/Pacific servers however...

Is the master server going to be able to cope?
-
Hi, I have a few questions regarding server(s), for those that run them.
How's the multicore support for Arma 2/DayZ servers, and how many cores are your server(s) using?
What's the current CPU load for each server?
What's the average RAM being used by each server?
What is your average daily inbound and outbound bandwidth usage per 50 slots(server)?
Thanks!
-
Thanks for those that have donated thus far, you're the best!
-
So what we've learnt thus far:
On lower end CPUs, they'll be near maxed out.
RAM is hardly used at all, can get by with 4gb with no issue.
Bandwidth is HUGE, so those looking at dedicated servers, plan for at least 5TB/month if running multiple servers.
-
Greetings!
First off, let me say how excited I am for this mod to be taking off like it is. I just found out about it last week via some friends, and oh my god it's exactly what I want!
Now, the main issue is getting into servers together. So, we're going to put up a few servers.
I currently have a dual xeon box that I will be co-locating, and should be up and ready by Friday.
So in order to try and get this funded for many months to come, we're going to match donations 1:1. First month is on us.
If you are interested, my paypal email is garlandm AT mac.com
And to show that I am for real, and I mean business, if you have any questions/concerns, please shoot me an email at work via garland.mcalexander (AT) va.gov (This is a Government email, please keep it SFW).
Thank you for taking time to read this.

It is happening to everyone, on almost every server.
No zombies, no items.
