    Good FPS but runs choppy

    Mos1ey has a very good point. SSD will not only increase your read and write speeds it also runs much more stable in laptops then a Sata drive. Downfall is backing up your OS and or files to a mechanical drive. As SSD un recoverable files if windows 10 goes down. Which in the last few weeks people have been bring in units for me to fix because windows 10 just simply goes nuts and crashed. No ability to repair nothing. This is why i never ever recommended upgrades. If you install windows 8.1, update it then windows 10 upgrade it runs rather nice fresh. You have to watch your updates for drivers. Do search and download them prior just in-case your system crashes. I also don't really recommend anything on windows 8-10 as optimizations are not perfect yet. It will take some time for the dev's to get nvidia and or ati to address this game. Ark also has lower FPS with windows 8-10. Some had loses of over 10fps right off the bat. Laptops also are dangerous when trying to run games like this. Not everyone is spec'ed to exactly what should be the better processor, graphics card to play this type of game. This is why i always use a pc for gaming needs. I understand why you like your laptop, but honestly they suck playing games. I don't care whom builds it.

    Best Sniper Gear?

    Try playing on the tog server, and see how well you do as a sniper against their squad. It isnt easy doing up close battles and expecting to get out of it. Landing long ranged shots only gets you in trouble, and your swarmed in a matter of minutes. It is good to be skilled at survival, as a sniper you improve on staying low key, hide and maneuver to stay not just alive but hidden by others. Giving yourself away isnt the best choice. Being a lone wolf, can be tons of fun and hard as heck to survive. It all depends on gear too. You do get hit back just as easy. I would use certain gear to hide myself. Black is my favorite, in dark spots. Using camo, is great. I like to also use gillie head piece to give myself some cover. I also loved to shoot at 700m to 1000m I have never hit anyone that far but a buddy of mine did. We measured it, as reported last year in a thread. It was an amazing shot. Lucky and we all died laughing. I think the closest i have done was 800ish m out but i cant remember its been so long. Gear is very important as a sniper. You also have to have what i call a backup gun. Its not just about a pistol, although that pistol is something you have to be 150% better at then your sniper rifle. For those that understand Head shot target practice. You need a fast paced weapon close by that can spray and pray, if someone sneaks up behind you. I used the MP5, also liked the AK74u Some gear pieces allowed me to carry exactly the perfect kit. This is something i find so important to keep using, because in your kit you want to be the fast user to swap out items on the fly. I am sure other snipers have their stories. Edit I am not sure gear is the exact thing a sniper concerns himself with, its the whole kit that is important. Staying alive with your kit is more important then hiding in the bush. You want to camo into your area, also you want your kit to swap out asap. Does this sound right about what your looking for?

I copied, and speed rushed it to 9 or so minutes into the article. https://youtu.be/jo4unYGQGB0?t=9m33s I found it good to let the server handle things like this, avoiding clients from running injectors and all sorts of extra materials. What are your thoughts? Can steps be made in the future to avoid what we saw in .48? Keep it civil please....

    At this time: I wont put your post on the spot at all here, what you said is exactly correct. Could it cost the end user money more so then the game itself. Would it be so overwhelming on the server to have so much hardware to run the simple AI... we all know from arma 3 how much our standard AI code, extra draws.. why Headless Client was done up. Its not over kill to have a rock block you instead of going through it. If the server rejects it in 100 lines of code, it would be placed in right away. Would this not also stop a cheat? Remember they did fix the bugs in dayz already for some of those normal exploits people did to hide in a wall, pop out and kill you. (fixed for the most part)

    Nothings bullshit about the future. things can happen, a start of something changes the platforms we game on. Don't miss the point, its not what they have done, its what they suggested that is possible. If we ignore the concepts behind these type of improvements, we reduce the loopholes of other potential issues. If games in general don't improve on coding structures or the bases of someone else s technology, we will still be playing when diablo had hacks. I couldn't care less about some hippies sitting in the dark programming. But we all have suggested this back in the 90's about collision detection rules. Whats failed now a days? Did we just hack and slash a fast buck, or did something else happen along the lines that to make a game with the basic's all get lost along the lines. Not everything has to be done over night, its something others agree that has to happen. I will ask you, do you personally believe that people get so fed up with cheats so much so, they log off and find other game types to play out of anger? Could 99% of those problems be solved with collision detection fixes. How many log off with the bugs in mmo's out of anger? i bet 99% of those could be fixed with improved collision detection fixes. Example: Lets put for example something simple, with the game we all enjoy, dayz.. If i have a horde of zombies all rushing through the walls of a building hitting you and killing you right away. Would you not be upset that that could have been fixed? Given that you spent hundred of hours prepping and building your character up. Now we have 5000 forum members all complaining about the zombies going through the walls, rocks, and ground.... would the dev's not put time into the collision detection issues regarding this? would BI not enforce a change in the base engine? of their structure if EA games has it already installed? Out of argument sake, keeping it very civil of course. Lets say next year a new program helps determine critical flaws or fixes to the netcode, or helps determine flaws and or fixes to the normal map collision would BI not try to make something of their own, if it helps improve on their game line ups. Knowing that simply all the other gaming companies are pulling in 1000's of their customers towards their games out of the simple fact collision detection was repaired. That's not a huge what if scenario. Remember whats said today, was not the case over 20 years ago. Many of these features (not saying Collision exactly) where done as standard rules in the industry. Lately many of us old timers have mentioned these problems right away in past games. What did they fail to finish? Yes many hrs of line codes. Maybe they aren't teaching these new programmers how to handle these things. Or could it simply be that the base gaming program has so many limits in it like UE4, that it would take an army to program new features like these guys suggest in the video.

    Best Sniper Gear?

    I have always loved the ghillie suit, however since they made it so hot i tend to just black out, green out and wear the wig. See the problem before, you would ghillie out, deck out for hours. Come against a heavy armed pack of players, take out a few but then all of a sudden you had the big "You have been axed" message, so people like myself changed. We said screw all the time it took to deck out and just snipe. Not all snipers went after fresh spawns. Fresh spawns did tend to give away snipers out of town. Still you would get the odd "You have been axed" message so many of us stayed away from electro, and that. Nature of the game.

    You are correct, hunting with my father as a child shown me how far he could kill a deer at. It would most likely kill someone too. Why do police squads even carry shotguns, and police officers carry one in the trunk? if its not effective. I think i can honestly say i agree with this topic and its very much true. Increase the shotgun for decent impact range, and durability. If i got hit with one up close i don't think i have would have anything less then a arm dangling. I hope this gets adjusted for beta tweaks +1

    DayZ SA Modding: A New Map

    I would like the idea of importing arma2-3 maps, or mods whatever works. Allow the server operator to design his server the way he or she wants. Having the tools to script, present different maps would be great. I am eager to dabble into the dayz modding tools. Excited to be honest.

    Getting one in the game is a start. Improving on this? correct i would add in different aspects of this as we go. The same applied to the cloth shirt. Uses would be wide open. It has already a few functions. So your ideas are not far from that.

    We already use many parts of this video in our games today. The problem is, how much more would it take to stop a player walking through a rock server side or simply flying across the map. He may see it client side, but server side the player will be stuck in one spot. What does it take to finish this? It could be important to have these features in all games Multiplayer. Would it take a team to reprogram this? or would it take a simple program to reduce the exploits. So many simple things we see, could be stopped with coding changes.

    They have two tabs, 1 private and the other public. It confused even me when i used them last. Public still is private server so when people boot you, it gets annoying. But it said public lol

    If i was your boss, and the dev's needed to remove the infected i would suggest spring being the best time. This way it wont distract the player base too much on stable. If i wanted to test the infected i would not touch stable until experimental had full testing done. In fact stable should not be changed much at all, if you wish to keep your player base. This is a new bread of games over the last 2-4 years zombies. So everything is new, and dayz clearly shows its the winner hands down for zombie type games. Removing infected clearly showed we lost a ton, a butt load of players and new sales went stale. This is why i suggested a while back do not bring testing too much to stable. Sales will hinder by testing of this sort. Clearly, management haven't quite got that part down. It would be much better to have experimental on private hive separate from the actual live hive. So testing can be done in house and special invites only by signed testers. Leaving stable alone until you need to update it. Taking away coffee only leaves hot water. How many will drink that cup of tea? :)

    first of all its not winter :) and second of all, its by far finished. Once polished more, people will give it a go again and again. Infected, return will spike 7k more return. Watch People like dayz, and its what people want. Don't be surprised before the release of the .60 or whatever you see a ton start to come back, because of winter. (any day now) Never take away a core item like infected around winter, if you want or expect people to buy. hehe Your steam chart clearly shows, how many left when .57-58 came out. Also its spring, summer. How many are there of younger >20

    1. Focus on submitting issues, bugs, or game play issues. 2. Don't push them on the game play aspect since many items/AI/Network/UI need testing and tweaking. 3. Your not forced to keep playing, you play because you enjoy it. So help in the mean time or take a break between stages. Remember this is a different alpha then you have seen before. This is not beta, this is alpha full of bugs, un wanted problems etc... So what you do is help improve on the game itself by offering up good quality suggestions, bugs and improvements. Some games use the alpha as a way to increase revenue early on, so they may get it hyped for funding. Dayz, got lucky and catered to some community need. Everyone wanted a Zombie type game, infected whatever. It still exists, and everything else i have tried doesnt come even close to this game. Its hardcore, in many ways. So before quitting think about how to improve on the game for beta, and release. Everything changes, as the population wants different things. Remember once beta comes around the population will grow, and numbers will increase once they get to see the new dayz. Games like ARK Dinosaurs, Dayz Infected etc are what people wanted. ARK i believe is a filler for most dayz players at the moment and will keep them active for awhile. I want to see dayz go live perfectly done. Just saying..... sneaks

    Huge story but works. I cant agree fully, but i do agree you want some complex game to hold your time. I really like SA, but it was before in .54 and .48. Will i like it the same when it goes to beta? unknown why we have a possible server of our own option so we can fix the pbo's again!!!! OMFG i said the PBO's String me up, arma 3 all over hehe @SynystrHey there fellow ontario man :)

    It would be nice if this vote was around with the normal people away from the game, until beta are back playing. I voted no because i cant handle it in 1pp. I have or had a focus issue in Dayz, and it gave me a headache. FOV and or resolution might be the problem, why i am forced to put it to 3pp. But i dont zoom all the way out, i put the Fov to 25% i guess, just to where the bottom of the backpack is. I am not the only one, there are many of us out there. A lot more then 39 no votes.

    enjoy it vanilla and if you don't like it, spend some of that money you have been hording away and host it your way. Its true you don't need to play those mods. Mods are intended for those that enjoy something different, not really easy mode. Sounds like mods ruined your experience, or was it you didn't have any friends to play along side? either way you make the game fun or not. Having ammo with guns, well why cant it be stored in the same location as the gun itself like a shelf, not the physical floor.
