NO ONE CARES not everyone wants/needs a desktop i have an 18" alienware laptop and i can fold it up and throw it in my bag and take it to class with me or put it on my lap as im lying in bed, which is more than worth the 30% or however much faster your desktop is ppl like me dont really care that it costs $3,000 because its supply and demand and there is ALOT of demand for them you can also get an older one for $1000 on ebay easy that will play dayz

DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
anarky321 replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
i7 2960xm @ 4.5ghz 256gb Samsung 840 PRO SSD ~30 in cities, like everyone else turning off shadows and lowering object detail to normal boosted my fps alot -
bump.....really annoying
-
ram drives dont increase fps they're for eliminating the lag in loading textures etc., a good SSD is 90% as good and way more convenient
-
the only kind of feature i'd be willing to accept is that 2 people can fresh spawn at the same place together, but im not sure how that would be implemented.... fast travel? NO...NEVER...one of the great things about this game is that the map is huge and you can feel relatively safe that if you're at some remote village chances are no-one will come by

i would piss myself if i saw a guy with an SKS on his back skateboarding past the zombies in Novodmitrovsk they should deff put this into experimental .53
-
i like the idea +! the key is that the person holding you up would not be able to see that you're holding dirt in your fist, and id say 3-5 seconds blindness or blurriness is good, also for all this to work the system wouldn't require you to access inventory, you'd just pick the dirt up in your hands like an item and then throw

no trouble finding them...used one today to make my sawed-off use dayzdb map to find the sheds
-
bump...having the same issue....pretty annoying

i said drop your resolution so you'd see that you're cpu bottlenecked genius , not to play with 50% resolution you don't know basic things like determining which component is bottlenecking your fps you can come here and copy and paste recommended system specs all day long but it doesn't mean anything, arma2 ran like shit for me too until i overclocked my cpu to the max now it runs great i have a crap laptop gpu and i run the game at 1920x1080 just fine, very rarely does it go below 30fps im done trying to help you wait for a new renderer then

When will we see this game shift more towards survival?
anarky321 replied to kumando's topic in General Discussion
is scavenging less of a survival tactic than horticulture? -
anyway g2g must buy new cpu cuz dayz min specs will be 4,5 GHz if you don't want the help then don't come here and whine about it im not a cpu salesman, i was trying to explain to you why your fps is shit look at your own numbers - your gpu usage is hovering at around 35% and your cpu usage is hovering at around 80%, it might just be a flawed way in how afterburner reports the #'s drop the resolution by 50% and look at your fps...it probably won't change

To the fully geared guy I killed at the Elektro fire station -
anarky321 replied to blehan9390's topic in General Discussion
i would rage for about 15mins straight if i lost that much gear, my cats already hide in fear every time i get smoked -
way to ressurect a year old thread
-
yes, your cpu is bottlenecked, 3.7 in turbo isn't enough for this game, and this game doesn't use your 4 cores it uses 2 BARELY, mostly 1 if you're using afterburner/hwinfo with the in-game display that shows PER-CORE load then you should clearly see that one of your cores is maxed out (99%) pretty much always this topic has been done to death, it's the same problem in Breaking Point and it was the same problem in Dayz Mod
-
very basic request that wouldn't be hard to implement there's hundreds of prepared firewood piles all over the map that would provide a pretty much infinite source of firewood, its kind of silly to make me have to chop down a tree when there's about 500 logs of wirewood right next to it piled up EDIT: on a related note, you should not NEED an axe to get sticks from a bush...most people would be very able to do this by hand
-
+1 good idea, one that im sure occurred to quite a few people im all about giving more options to the player , makes for better emergent gameplay id go further than that and let people rip out fenceposts to use a melee weapons but that's harder to implement

Zero loot in many servers, what happened?
anarky321 replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
persistence sounds like it would work alot better if characters were bound to a single server......without the corpses being persistent though persistence is still broken -
sometimes even that doesn't fix it, and you have to re-log.....that was the case for me...i got all the way up to "hot" and still shaking cant we delete or merge there's 2 identical threads on this
-
i had the same thing i sat in front of a fire for 10mins it didn't fix it, so i re-logged and voila shaking gone
-
this is actually how it works in pretty much every game.....you can counter this by having vsync/triple buffering on or a frame cap to 60
-
i think you're looking at your cpu usage wrong the only accurate in-game way to measure per-core usage is using MSI Afterburner as far as i know.....even so i can 100% guarrantee you that you are CPU-bottlenecked, regardless of what your CPU is if disabling shadows doesnt give you an acceptable FPS in cities then you need a better cpu

in The Forest you run into a group of tents near the plane and can't pick up or use any of them -_- very frustrating
