Weird way to increase FPS by increasing Graphics.

I've only had trouble with AMD GPU's. I dunno there's just something about Nvidia which I prefer

Weird way to increase FPS by increasing Graphics.

There are plenty of guides that don't explain it too well. I was just trying to help. AMD sucks and that's just my personal opinion. Doesn't mean I'd use anyone else though, I love my phenom II x6 it runs other games fine. Not just that, I said that AMD GPU/CPU are a pretty bad choice for DayZ (for now) - I'm really hoping they fix the issue of DayZ only using 1 or two cores when you've got a 6 or 8 core CPU. Oh, and I think AMD sucks for DayZ, yes.
  3. I made a video explaining everything (it's pretty bad, but helpful!) So, certain settings in DayZ put load on the GPU and on the CPU. If your CPU is bad, you can turn up settings that affect GPU pretty high. If your GPU is bad, you can turn up settings that affect your CPU pretty high. Bad= AMD cpu/gpu (in general.) NOTE. IF YOU HAVE A BAD CPU/GPU YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN THIS GAME. (I'm giving it to ya' honestly.) The video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK_mnCTnWYU If this helps or if you have any other suggestions for improving FPS, please leave a comment either here or in the video's comments. Thanks, sorry about my annoying voice.

    Reduce CPU load.

Well from some research I'm done ramping up certain settings reduces cpu load and increases gpu load... I'll experiment and see what I find best for me and I'll post some screenies here

    Reduce CPU load.

This post isn't just for me, there's quite a few survivors in the same position as me so the answer to this question will undoubtedly help hundreds if they stumble across it.

    Reduce CPU load.

I was curious of which settings use CPU and which settings use GPU in the DayZ settings as I'm trying to reduce my CPU load. My GPU is good and my CPU is mid-range so I'm wondering what to tweak down and what to tweak up to get optimal performance. Any suggestions?

    Optimization...?

It actually worked for me weirdly enough. Makes no sense but it makes more sense. I won't be upgrading my CPU just for DayZ as other games run fantastic with this setup. I'll just wait for some optimization I guess

    Optimization...?

I took what you said to my head and I went into DayZ and turned all my graphics right up. Somehow I got an FPS increase of about 5 in the cities so I'm running at about 25 FPS and it seems smooth. I get the odd FPS drops here and there but I now know that my CPU is a piece of poo.

    Optimization...?

Can you reccomend any specific settings for my system? I have no clue what I'm doing if I'm gonna be completely honest.

    Optimization...?

I'm not saying my PC is amazing but I can run other games with no issues. I'm not advertising my channel or anything but here is a recording of skyrim on my old AMD Radeon HD 6670 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybhIjQF45Fs @1080p60fps. I run DayZ at the bare minimum and I'm still getting a horrible amount of lag. It makes no sense to me why it isn't optimizing my gpu or CPU. My CPU is a pretty standard mid-range piece of equipment but the only game I seem to have problems with is DayZ. I do understand that the game isn't optimized yet, but allowing people to actually play it before adding dresses and pointless other things should be top priority.. Atleast with other games that's how it's done. Edit: I've owned this game for well over a year now and I've seen my FPS decreasing over time instead of increasing like it should be. We get one update a month if we're lucky, I understand this game is early access but with the millions of purchases you'd think the developers would put their thinking caps on and fix their game? It still takes me 10 seconds to get my axe off my back ffs.

    Optimization...?

So, My pc runs games such as ark: survival evolved, skyrim on ultra, h1z1 with no issues. 8GB RAM (vengeance) Amd Phenom II x6 @ 2.8ghz Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 TI sc (I have an ssd but that's irrelevant.) I'm confused as to why I'm lucky to get 20 fps even outside the cities. My system should demolish DayZ. It only uses about 30% CPU and I'm unsure how much of the GPU it uses. It's quite upsetting because it's a decent gaming system, I can run skyrim with 300 mods + record at 1080p 60fps with no hiccups. Any suggestions? I've used all the guides I can think of. Is there no way of getting DayZ to utilize all of the CPU/GPU?

    Only seeing experimental/official Dayz servers.

You gave me beans. I need a can opener D:

Let's turn this into an abuse thread, abuse me for my idiocy, thanks!

Holy crap ignore me. I'm an idiot. I should really get twitter :)
  15. So, I had to do a reformat, I had a nasty trojan that I couldn't get rid of. My PC is clean now. Re-downloaded Dayz, modded the CFG file to how I like it (Dropped the scene complexity + render/object distance a little) but when I started the game up and clicked play I'm only seeing like 5-7 servers, experimental and official servers. I can't join any of them, I'm not seeing any public servers or anything. I've tried disabling windows firewall etc and that doesn't seem to be it. I've made sure in steam that it's on the right version of the game... The only thing I can think of is battleeye but I can see the Dayz servers so this makes no sense. When I set my ping to 1000 I obviously see more servers, but they're also experimental/official servers which I've never been able to join. I had this problem before but that's because Dayz was down and I didn't realise, I've browsed the forums and I can't see anything suggesting that Dayz is down. If anyone has a solution please post? I'll try a restart and re-install but I doubt it will fix my issues.
