How can admins ban them? The only way I can see to do it on our server is by video recording them and getting their steam ID which any player has just as good a chance of doing, the only thing admins seem to be able to do is kick people and restart the server because for some reason admins have pretty much no power over their own damn server.

Interesting times for DayZ SA, .51 was broken pretty badly and then they suddenly pushed .52 to stable (without fixing ANY of the bugs of .51) with one of the patch notes being a security fix, and then that same day some DDOS attacks occurred and have continued to disrupt the servers. What is going on? I see at least one hacker every day now, on weekends I see 3 or 4, when I first started the game back in October it took me three weeks on the coast of full servers to ever find a single hacker. Something has changed, I wonder what caused all this.

>its close to the holidays >I am alone >Decide to put myself in a very dangerous position in the name of helping those who can help themselves >Sit in the road with no way to protect myself and no friends to back me up >Someone comes up and shoots me to take my stuff as people are known to do in this game God this game is so retarded why are people so mean, this is what I was wearing when I was KoS'd tell me I asked for it! At some point your commonsense has to outweigh your need to feel like a good person, let me know when you find the tipping point without getting deaded. Until then I am going to kill people who look like they are asking to get killed.

The Vybor spawn also makes you a white man no matter what your default is, not really sure why.

I've never seen a cold body, just Warm and Lukewarm, bodies despawn after 10 minutes so it really isn't long enough for them to get cold.

My setup is as basic as ever and I run it okay: AMD Phenom X4 9850 Quad Core 2.5ghz 8gb DDR2 RAM Radeon 7790 1gb I run on the lowest possible settings save for object textures which are set to normal. I get maybe 30-60 fps while running around the woods, down to 20fps in the cities, like 10 in really big firefights. So yeah, if I can run it then you can, believe it or not I actually do alright, I win most of my firefights.

Just a tip, when unconscious you can respawn by pressing Escape and Respawn, it will auto kill your character.

Cannot load character at all in any circumstance

Did you happen to have a lot of stuff on that person? Maybe mountain backpacks, vests, or some other item with LOTS of other items stacked into it due to the fact that some items in game take up less space than they can store? Because that happened to my friend and it hasn't been fixed for three days now, we killed some guys who had magical protector cases full of ammo boxes full of protector cases full of ammo boxes and it just went on like that for a while, he picked up two or three and hasn't been able to play since. -
Starting first with the Derringer, .45ACP is a very unlikely cartrige for a Derringer to be chambered in and in the game it doesn't really make any sense seeing as how .45ACP generally only spawns around military bases and anyone who goes to a military base likely has better sidearm options. In reality Derringers are mostly chambered in .38 Special, .22lr, and .410ga/.45 Long Colt, now you can go about this however you want, make .357 derringers, add .38 special into the game, whatever works but just get rid of the .45ACP derringer because as it stands now no one wants it, its like a starter gun that you need to go to a military base to get ammo for, chambering it in .357 magnum and .22lr (two variations of the gun) makes a lot more sense for a two shot firearm that people generally get early on and ditch as their character gears up. Next up is the reloading mechanics of the Repeater, the MP-133 Pump Shotgun, the SKS, and the Mosin Nagant 91/30, in reality these weapons do not have to be unloaded to be reloaded, you simply need to load new rounds in, this is probably just a game mechanic that isn't easy to fix but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. Snaploaders and Speedloaders, these don't actually go into the gun, a speed loader just empties the rounds into the cylinder and then you remove it and stow it in your inventory, same with snaploaders, the rounds should just be moved from the snaploader into the blaze/IZH-43 and leave an empty snaploader in your inventory.

I wouldn't argue against a .380 derringer, maybe a .380 and a .357 magnum though. I'm not really going to ask the game designers to beef up the lock so that the gun would realistically be able to handle the round it is firing but I don't think its too much to ask for them to change to more realistic calibers which would actually make the Derringer a useful starter weapon, seeing as they should be quite common in residential houses.

I stated that barrel length should play a role but the role should be a minor one, greater barrel length does not necessary always mean higher velocity and even when it does that velocity plays a larger part in accuracy than damage, the damage difference of 1400fps (6" barrel) and 1700fps (18" barrel) are not really that great if we are firing the same round. Here is a list of actual numbers: http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/357mag.html While I do agree that a longer barrel should cause a bit more damage I really do emphasize the "bit" part, it should be miniscule and vary between weapons, for instance; a .357 is a straight walled cartridge which burns its powder rather quickly so 6" of barrel or 18" of barrel it really doesn't make that much of a difference, somewhere around 200 extra feet per second. On the other hand though, 7.62x54R is a necked cartridge which does need more barrel to burn all of its powder and the difference between 6" of barrel and 29" barrel could mean up to 1000 more feet per second which would give a massive accuracy increase and a notable, but not devastating, damage increase. At the end of the day a .30 caliber bullet traveling at 2300 fps is going to do almost as much damage as one traveling 3300 fps, once you reach a certain speed an increase in speed won't really give a great increase in damage though it will always give a great increase in accuracy.
-
Part 2: Accuracy and Damage Weapons which share the same ammunition do the same damage, the thing that would really change this would be barrel length but that would do a lot more to accuracy than damage. A P1 and a CR75 should do the same damage, a FNX, a 1911, and a Derringer should all do the same damage, a Longhorn, a Mosin Nagant, and a Blaze should do just about the same damage, maybe a tad more for longer barrels but the barrel should really only mess with accuracy. Now I can't find accurate numbers for weapon damage in this game but I'm pretty sure the Longhorn and Mosin have different damage.

I love the area but all of the cities around there seem to really drop my FPS, more so than the coastal cities.
-
I just said I wasn't doing it to get closer to anywhere other than where my friends are. The 30 second timer is fine, but you seem to want to punish any player who does not play the game the way you play it.

Another case of "Play the game how I play it or don't plat at all!" I mean I only kill myself when I am playing with friends to get back to them quickly but I don't mind if other people want to kill themselves, I hate the Novo spawns, I don't like spawning up north I prefer to start on the coast, thats how I play, nothing wrong with that at all, it doesn't hurt anybody else, its not like I'm saying every spawn should be on the coast.

I hate to tell you this but the most likely reason for it vanishing is that it was found, I thought my tent was waaaaaaaaaay out of the way, I mean it was in a place that no one had any reason to go, no buildings, long walk, up a mountain, in the trees, at the edge of the map and it still vanished, know why? Because people actively search these areas for tents, it was even on some random server that never has more than a few people on it. When I came back to my tent to pack it up for the server reset it was missing and all that remained were some of the items they didn't want.

The food thing is a realism issue, if we want to talk realism then starving basically shouldn't even exist in the game, it takes days without eating to begin starving so long as you have water. It should take at least a week of constant play to die of starvation. Is anyone willing to commit to absolute realism? People will complain about the speed at which we run not being realistic but they don't mind at all that fruit randomly appears in abandoned houses and this place seems to never run out of food, guns, or ammo. If you want realism then we can have realism, the animals will be hunted to extinction in the area, the zombies will die off within a couple of weeks, and when you go to sleep your character actually stays in game and can be killed at any time.

If I could describe a lot of people's mindsets in DayZ in one picture this would be it. Just let people play the game as they like, so long as they are not exploiting bugs or hacking then whats it to you? You play your way and I'll play mine.
-
You are spewing a lot of misplaced anger my way, I've never played any Call of Duty games, in fact I've only ever played one online first person shooter and that was Planetside 2. I enjoy the pace of DayZ, I enjoy the risk, I enjoy the gearing up more than I enjoy the fighting. What I don't enjoy is endless running, I don't think anyone really enjoys that. Hopping from town to town is no issue for me but if those travel times were made significantly longer this game would get very boring very fast. At any rate, chill out.
-
I've taken to using a shortcut for it as well since I started playing this but it is something I've found in the other games I play, they generally allow you to choose which audio device to broadcast through. Either way, not a game breaking issue but something to think about if enough people feel the same way.
-
I understand that you may not have friends you play with but a lot of us do and a lot of us don't have two hours to spend trying to get to our friends before we can actually start playing together. Why does the running speed bother you anyway? Why are you so dead set on people playing the game the way you want it played? Not everyone likes an overly hard game, not everyone likes your play style, one of the great things about this game is that you are free to play however you want, you can run off in the woods and play PvE if you want or you can stick to the cities and go all PvP. The only thing making this game ridiculously hard will do is drive new players away.

Anyone ever get really disappointed when that happens? Just happened to me, was in Berezino up on the top floor of a building, three guys with M4s were running around town being a death squad so I was just watching those stairs with my shotgun trained on the opening hoping I'd at least take a couple of them out. As far as I knew they had no idea I was there because I watched them run around from the window in third person for a good 15 minutes, I was prone in third person watching the only entrance when "You are dead", no sound, no person, nothing, I wasn't in view of the windows as I was laying prone, there was no way anyone could get a shot on me from the windows due to other buildings around. Its sort of disheartening, I'm not mad that I died, I welcome death cause I enjoy gearing up, I'm just disappointed that I don't know what killed me or how, its so anticlimactic when your heart is racing waiting for someone to come into your building then it just cuts to black without you ever even seeing your enemy. I wish it would tell us who killed us and with what. I know a lot of people will be against that because it isn't realistic but then again neither are third person view or zombies or starving to death in an hour.

Sometimes when I die and I don't feel like gearing up I will just run into the middle of town and start fights with people. One time I was running down the street in cherno and a dude walked out onto the road with a double barrel shotgun, I was a freshspawn so I stopped and said Hi, he shot me on the spot. I just so happened to spawn outside cherno once more so I ran right back to that spot, into the building he came out of, and at the top of the stairs he was eating the food I had on me as his friend stood guard with an SKS, I charged in and put him between his friend and myself, his friend had fired wildly on me with that SKS and in a moment of panic shot his friend several times, his friend collapsed possibly dead, I quickly went for the shotgun but it was empty, I settled for a machete and as the SKS guy was reloading I began beating him with it, he put the SKS away and pulled out a machete of his own and we did battle but due to him shooting me a time or two already with the SKS I passed out first. In the end his friend, the man who shot me, likely bled to death if he wasn't killed instantly by the shots, the SKS man may or may not have made it, he was bleeding heavily when I went down. I suppose that was off topic though, so to answer you question; when I spawn I make my own fun, screw getting my gear back.

Lets not nerf the speed at which we run until vehicles are in the game please, travel time is the biggest mood killer for this game, don't make it worse. Either give us an option to spawn near our friends or leave the speed at which we run alone.
