Like if you hang yourself have a note on you telling people why you hung yourself. But the pro's outway the con's I guess so I honestly love the idea...Just got to draw a line for the bandits...Time to clean my Mosin and go Bandit sniping whenever I see them with a newspawn. Honestly cannibalism has been in the game for a couple of months and I haven't eaten anyone yet. Although my friend and I might try it later today and see how well it goes.

Honestly I'm both for it and against it let me tell you why. Pros: 1.) It adds more roleplaying having public hangings...Life if someone kills or steals. 2.) Adds more ways to interact with people..Given it isn't positive interaction but its still at least some form of interaction. 3.) You can kill yourself easier. Cons.: 1.) Bandits can be more brutal. 2.) Someone could log as your trying to hang him...Of course if he is handcuffed then he will lose all of his stuff anyway. 3.) It will be scary at night even more...You have a flashlight and you aim it at a tree and you just see someone hanging there...Spooky. It would be fun to hang people in this game but there would of course be glitches as there is with everything.

Well here I was up near Vybor going towards NWAF and my buddy was there looting around for a bit and then I went unconscious. He had a helicopter a UH-1Y and he came to pick me up. I started getting shot at and I was looking around wondering were this guy was at. I looked toward Green Mountain which was visible near Vybor, so I looked up there and I saw him. Boy I tell ye I whipped my AS50 out and shot him in the chest, so afterwards he comes and picks me up and we go near Kamenka and then I just see a message saying, "Why didn't you save me Venom? Why?!" And my name on DayZ is Venomserpant and I was scared out of my mind because the name was Civilian...But there are no civilians in the mod. All of a sudden our helicopter crashes and we nearly die. At this point we are unconscious and I see this figure with a hatchet above me, and its name was civilian, all of a sudden on the chat thing it shows "You left me for dead and now you and your friend are," At that point the "civilian" killed us with a hatchet. Boy was I scared,confused, and pissed at the same time.

Thanks dude Yeah I thought about that but wouldn't it also be good for the 'tubers to show some of the unfavorable experiences too? I mean it would make them so much more interesting to see some of them instead of just seeing Frankie meet a nice person.

Yeah I know all about Green Mountain...My friends and I had an experience there ourselves. We had heard the stories about that place but didn't believe the stories so we decided to be bad asses and stay a night there. It did not end well for us,let me tell you why this is 100% a pure genuine experience much like young Jaznaps here. My 3 friends and I had made our way to Zelenogorsk and it was around midday, so we decided to wait until night to go there. So in order to be prepared for what was about to come we decided to loot NWAF and wait. So after looting the NWAF and doubling back around to Green Mountain it was already night. We had a car and drove up the side of the mountain to the Radio Tower. Thinking we were all gods for not getting scared out of our wits yet we climbed up the tower and made a fire in the center and we all sat around it talking and laughing because we had proven that Green Mountain wasn't haunted. But boy were we wrong because the best has yet to come. We were all talking about how the people here were scared at night that they were seeing and hearing things and how beast we were. Out of nowhere we heard a voice say, "I seee you." We looked at each other and one of our men asked if we had all heard that and we all agreed we did. We looked toward the ladder wondering if we should get down, and then we heard it. "I'm coming for you." It sounded almost snakelike the way the voice was. And we just stayed up top not knowing what to do, and then we heard a gunshot and I went unconscious. After gaining consciousness back I bandaged and blood bagged and we got down and ran to our car. We drove down the side of the mountain towards Zelenogorsk and we saw a helicopter up above us...Now please note that this is weird because we were the only ones on the server at that time. The helicopter immediately dropped bombs down and the fell behind us damaging the back of the car just a little big so the back was at orange. We also started getting shot at from an unknown location. Out of nowhere our car blew up and we went unconscious and we died from blood loss a minute afterwards. We could still hear things and we heard the same voice saying, "We were killed, now its your turn. Stay away!" And we all heard it so we all agreed to the strange occurrences...We have never been back,.

Hey guys thanks for the replies...I have read all of them and I enjoyed the advice that was given...I will definately use the tips the next time I play...When I typed this I sounded so nooby but oh well. I don't enjoy killing other players but I'll have to next time someone doesn't talk...Frankie usually has no trouble with friendly interaction...And then theres me getting killed by 12 year olds who's only purpose in the game is to kill people...I got dealt the wrong hand I guess.

Whenever I play DayZ Standalone and find someone I always end up dying I wait for someone to speak and I always hear some twelve year old laugh in his mic and say "Get rekted faggot." Seriously do adults even play this game? Anyway I need advice on how to stay alive when coming into player contact. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Today my group and I go there on the mod...other than us 4 there was 1 other guy on the server...now this is vanilla mod not any of the others like Epoch, Breaking Point, or Overpoch which made Green Mountain even spookier believe it or not. But 2 of us are in a white off roader which is only a 2 seater even though people should be able to sit in the back of the truck(that needs to be fixed really badly its just stupid and really unrealistic). Anyway I'm driving and we have one of our guys running beside the truck and my friend in the truck and I get our gear and equipment ready while the other guy goes up toward the tower to make sure the coast is clear. Our last friend was just then making it to the base of the hill and he reaches the treeline. Out of nowhere this helicopter flies over and shoots flares out of the sides and theres another guy on this server other than us and I type on side chat, "Hey man are you flying a heli over Green Mountain shooting flares out of the side?" He replies with, "No dude I'm at the NWAF looting why what does it look like?" I just reply with, "It looks like a Blackhawk but they don't have flares you can shoot out...and I don't even think they are flyable." He replies, "I think you can fly Blackhawks...but maybe it was an AI?" My friend who is really scared at this point says, "No AIs can't fly on this server he disabled it." So we continue on to the mountain after getting our gear still discussing the heli we just saw when out of nowhere the guy going to scout the entrance died. We were like, "Dude what happened how did you die?" And all he replies with is, "Damn AI killed me with an AK." Well we didn't hear any shots so we go and clear the entrance and go in...eventually we killed all the AIs there we didn't even know spawned there and go into the tower and wait for the rest of our friends to get here. Suddenly someone climbs the ladder and gets to us and we look at them horrified...they have a zombie face, and we open fire on them...we waste several mags on him and he runs past us and jumps off the tower after a minute or two of us practically shaking in our sests scared out of our minds we hear the heli come back and next thing we know there are explosions everywhere and we die. For us when it shows the "You Are Dead" screen we hear a voice plainly say "Thousands of us died here, and now your one of them." This experiance scared the absolute fuck out of us...and it will be an experiance we will never forget. As for the last guy on our team when we both died from the explosions he bolted...he saw the heli bomb us and decided to run for Cherno instead...he was a smart man and he alone survived that encounter. To this day Green Mountain will forever remain a cursed and haunted hellhole in which we will never step foot in again.

Personally I love the mod even more than the Standalone. I started playing DayZ with the Standalone and I thought "Oh wow this is so freakin' amazing." And then yesterday I started playing the mod and oh my god...I can see now how fucking wrong I was. The mod in my own opinion is much better than the Standalone. I can deal with the glitchy ass zombies which aren't even in the Standalone. I can deal with the creepyness of Green Mountain which believe it or not got like 10x creepier in the Standalone. I can deal with all of the glitches/problems with the mod...not even to start on the AIs just because I love the mod. And that will never change.

Alright so I had just gotten the game yesterday right? And I had finally found a server that had let me on it(please note that I am playing Vanilla). Anyway I have finally spawned and I'm at Balota airfield and I go in you see what had happened was I was directly in front of the ACT and I went in the server I was playing on gave you an M9 with 2 mags. So I go inside...no one is there so I get onto the stairs when I hear footsteps under me so I get on the second floor before going onto the top where the glass is. I looked down the stairs my M9 ready to shoot anyone I see there...and the guy comes AK in his hands, Ghillie Suit, good Alice pack...everything. Well when he gets up he has no idea whats going on or whats about to happen to him. I immediately start shooting at him with my M9 and shoot him 8 times in the head when I shot him the first 4 times he had opened fire on me with the AK taking half of my 12,000 blood away. I ended up killing him(my very first player kill :D) and taking his stuff I quickly bandaged and self-blood bagged. Well I had decided to head down to Cherno to meet up with my group members turns out I was the only one in Cherno and they had picked me up in a helicopter. My very first heli evac in the game I was so freakin' excited. I was the gunner and we flew by Balota where a newspawn was being chased by zombies I used the gun to kill the zombies and we left. We were heading to NWAF when we saw another heli flying there. The damn thing shot at us and I shot it down...Omg my first heli destroyed with the gun. We landed at NW and the server had to restart and so we left...then afterwards I forgot the server IP and so I couldn't reconnect. There is this server I've been playing on since last night...I will have some stories on that later...so much stuff has already happened to me and this clan I'm in on there and its my main server now...we are doing a livestream tomorrow of us building a base because we are on someones custom server and it lets you basebuild without Epoch...so I'll post some stories on that either tomorrow or the day after.

How do you range the distance on a long range scope? I've tried and I can't get the shots right I snipe at bandits and end up getting shot at because I keep missing. If you can help that would be highly appreciated.

Hello everybody it is Survivor05 here and I'm sort of new on these forums. I have commented on a couple other posts but thought might as well introduce myself. I've been playing DayZ for a couple months now and I have to say the community is amazing. I like playing and meeting new people, but I'm a bandit. I don't shoot on sight but I sort of handcuff people and take some of there food if I'm hungry and I'm not afraid to disarm someone either. I will snipe you if I see you kill a newspawn so be warned, My little base area is Green Mountain and once actual base building is implemented I'll be making a base there so that should be fun. You know you have too much food and drink when your entire inventory is full of it and you can't carry any ammo for your guns...That has happened to me with a Orange Mountain Backpack.. ;)

Alright I swore I'd never speak of this experience but here goes. I was heavily geared and I got bored so I went to Green Mountain to set up a safezone for survivors that wanted sanctuary. I got there at night and decided to camp out and begin my quest to find survivors in the morning. It was maybe 12:00 in the morning in-game time and I heard a noise outside, thinking it was just a zombie I walked outside the prison with my axe out ready to kill it. I immediately hear voices outside of the sanctuary and I stand frozen. "Should we kill him? He looks to geared to be friendly." I pulled my gun out saying in Direct chat, "If either one of you even look at me with a gun out I will not hesitate to kill both of you." They seemed smart enough to know they wouldn't get far so one of the guys said, "Alright we are friendly we'll come in quietly." Idiots I mumbled to myself. They then walked inside the prison with me and we all sat down and I started a fire on the second floor as I look at one of the guys. "What brings you guys here anyway?" They took a minute to answer. "We heard that there was a sanctuary here and we were looking for a place that wasn't a deathtrap." I raised my eyebrow at them in real life. "Well haven't you heard the stories about this place? I'd say your better protected in Balota or Cherno even Berezino is safer than this place." They seemed to laugh at my statement. "Well then why are you here? Surely you've heard of the so called "ghosts" that haunt this place." I was finding this amusing. "I don't care if I die, I die. Fresh start." Suddenly we came under fire from a Mosin and an M4 from the woods nearby. "Get to cover I'll get these guys out of hiding and deal with them. Just hide." I ran out of the prison and went around back I proceeded to run toward where the shots were coming from. Then then my leg got broken as a Mosin shot rang out in the woods. The M4 guy came out of nowhere with a gas mask on and military clothes. He looked down at me raised his M4 and said, "They killed us we kill you. Thousands died here and you are one of them." As he said this my screen went black with a "You are Dead" sign on it. Moral of the pretty freaking terrifying story...Never Go To Green Mountain. That was my first mistake.
