I was coming into the south west side of Berezino under bright moonlight just looking for loot and staying out of sight. I spotted there were zombies around a cattle shed too far away for me to have spawned them so I approached cautiously. I have 4 clips for my M4A1 CCO so it was loaded and ready to go. I saw two ghillie-suited guys walking out of the shed and across the road in the direction towards Berezino hospital so I dropped in behind them. They were crouched and going slow, I could afford to run while crouched so I closed the gap quickly. I suddenly became aware that my heart was JUMPING out of my chest and I lined up the shot and fired about 4 shots for each of them. I hit one nicely but probably wounded the other, I heard cries of pain. I turned and ran like the big chicken I am :) A few seconds later I got a message that someone had died so I don't know if it was me who killed him or just someone else on the map. But that was my most intense moment yet!! :ph34r:

Just for reference, I noticed that I have a Murder tally of 1. I'm off to read up on what the Humanity figure is and how it affects me...

All the servers I've tried it on have allowed it. If you have found a map its a great way to find out where you are. Not to mention if you want to get somewhere precisely.

I think you get much more from helping each other - but PK will always happen because there's no consequence and its easy to do .

When I quit for the night I had some decent loot.. When I came back the next day I started in the wastelands with NO kit at all (not even the torch, painkillers and a bandage). I quit and re-joined but now I was by the south shore and all my kit had been restored. Can anyone help expain what happened?

Ah so it's normal? I mean, I've seen vids of the wasteland including some with GPS etc. but I had nothing. ANd why have some other people bothered to run all the way back when they could just respawn?

I should also have said in my original post that early on in my looting I found a Mountain Dew. My heart sank as I had learned of the curse. BUT I defied it, picked it up and drank the contents. After that I had a surprisingly good night on DayZ finding some untouched loot locations and it ended in firing at the two guys I drivelled about in my original post.

Thanks for the comments. See normally I would have just given them a wide berth and continued on my way or offered to help. But I've been shot too many times in the back when I didn't even pose a threat ... so I just thought "f'k it". The game has turned me evil :bandit:

Empty cans and bottles are useless. The only refillable containers are water canteens. You need to find loot; Pepsi and Coke are some of the most common things in the game. See http:dayzdb.com/map to see where the loot is.

I was kicked from *all* the servers I joined last night who had an Admin present. I can only assume they don't want me as a risk to their players or loot.

I got a white Battleye message last night that said "Nuclear launch detected!" but nothing else happened. Was this someone hacking?

As per the subject - this is just a question about fresh loot as I'm constantly finding nothing but empty cans. And WHO drinks that much whiskey?!

It looks lovely in its nice light blue can. I put it in my backpack, jumped in a tractor, drove over a small bush whereupon the tractor fell to pieces and killed me. Didn't even have time to drink the blue nectar. Damned ArmA2 bugs.

I've only found 2x heli crash sites but where do you look for the loot? There's nothing on the heli itself which activates the scroll menu and I can't see anything lying around next to it. What's the score?

Hi all - I couldn't get on any servers last night. The first server I tried to join failed at the player screen saying that BattleEye kicked me. The second server I joined I managed about 30 seconds of gameplay before I was kicked (no explanation). From there I tried for 30 minutes to get on any other server but I just got hung up either "Waiting for host" or "Loading" and I eventually gave up without playing at all. - All my software is up to date (DayZ Commander, Arma2, BattleEye) - I don't hack (or have any knowledge how to) - I've never killed another player So is there any way to find out WHY BattleEye (and the other server) kicked me or why I wasn't able to join other servers?

Ahhh well that would explain it. Its when there's no other option other than forcing a quit when the game won't start. So maybe my details have been passed to the server at login, and then when the "Loading" or "Wait for Host" message stays there forever and I have to end the ArmA2 task, that's what's happening.

I was well tooled up when I rejoined last night, near one of the hangars at the airfield. It took all of about 10 seconds for shots to start grazing me, so I ran into the hangar and bandaged. My attacked peeked round the edge of the hangar entrance and I returned a few shots, obviously hitting him because I saw the blood gushing out of him. I followed him as he ducked left and I saw the blood just round the corner but as I went round there was no sign of him. Shots rang out again, this time behind me and I died without seeing him ... How was that possible?

Its odd because I managed to get on servers last night without much issues (a couple stuck at "Loading") but had a good game, got shot in the back, usual stuff.

Annnnd this is exactly the reason why people shoot on sight.

Flush doesn't work for everyone. For me to fix it I need to reboot.

Say I've got a primary and secondary weapon along with a full inventory and full backpack - what is the best way to switch to the Hatchet or the Flashlight (cos I know they're treated slightly differently) without loosing stuff?

Thanks. I think the issue is a full inventory of the basics (food & water). I still need to find a bigger bag.
