Being Friendly Gone Wrong. 1vs4 DayZ Hardcore/1PP
therandomredstone replied to Massacre42's topic in Gallery
I really need to start playing hardcore. ahh i'll wait till the update. May I recommend waiting about 2 seconds before letting go of the "direct comms" button? People tend to let it go immediately before your voice can "teleport" to the other guy's computer. Just a tip. And back on topic: That was quite a feat, considering you never aimed down your sights. Bravo. -
TIL the only trustworthy people in DayZ are nine year olds.
therandomredstone replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I think we've all learned something from this Story, yes? We need more nine year olds. -
I don't really think a 'Bump' is necessary. kichilron had already told you that time will fix it. Or you could buy new hardware. Your choice.

In the mod you could to pretty much anything. Standalone is still working on that "anything" part.

Love the name.

I want to go over a few things you discussed in your post. First of all, they are Infected People. Not Zombies. So, you feel that after killing a few Infected here and there, they should respawn and basically go back to the location you originally killed them at. This will not be necessary, as I will get to my second comment. Have you been reading the DevTracker? DayZIntel? What about YouTube? There will be no Infected in the next update. The reason why, was because the developers increased the number of Infected SO much that the servers were pretty much unplayable. My guess is they are going to either re-implement the Infected with the new render, because the render can run more things with less performance. Thus adding much more space for more Infected. Or just change a few 0s and 1s to fix it. Watch a few videos from .56 in Experimental. airfields if you're lucky will have 30 of those little buggers on one half.. If you shoot a gun, they go running to the area but they don't know where you are. So if you must, shoot one and haul ass outta there, because more are on their way. Now for base building, don't worry, there are plenty of things you've talked about that the devs have been thinking about for quite some time. No sweat. I must give you props for the Soft Skills. Even though there could be plenty more of the skills, the few that you have named by themselves would make all the difference to players. I think I've gone over all I had to go over.. Cheers!

I can't wait until they start working on Optimization. DayZ will surely get better frames-wise as time goes by. I have my eyes on a XDNA Aurum 24K right now. better sell the car :P Juust kidding. But anyways, thanks for the help! -
About the next coming camera angle
therandomredstone replied to Platin.'s topic in General Discussion
You bought the game and what is the FIRST thing you read when you bought it? WARNING: "THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING" you are in no position to be complaining about any changes made to the game, as you bought this game, and by doing so agreed to these terms. I can't tell you how many situations I've been in where people third-person over a wall to see another player. I can't tell you how many times I've done this myself, either. But changing the third-person camera angle will only make the game better. Making the game fair for everyone. Personally, if they removed third person altogether then DayZ would gain that much more realism. But I know there are those people who physically cannot play first person games. And that is why there are first person only servers. "I shall grab my bowl of popcorn and see how long thy topic lasts." -
It's no doubt that vehicle cargo will soon be added into the game. In Time.

The Olympic speed running was already fixed. They're adrenaline-rushed crazy people who's one goal is to slaughter and rip you limb by limb. So until those guys get tired and start jogging, they're gonna go full speed.

Quentin's Troubleshooting Topic
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Troubleshooting
Trust me, I do research and read about things before I post with questions. Then I go back to researching and rummaging around before seeing if I had gotten a reply. I will probably get a smaller PSU, and in time get a larger case if I must do so for more upgrades. What would someone like yourself recommend to get the best frames for DayZ? -

Thank you orlok. I will get a 1000 watt power supply but I want to know if it's compatible with my computer. Will I be able to fit a 1000W i7 Gaming Upgrade Power Supply in my XPS 8700? -
Quentin's Troubleshooting Topic
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Troubleshooting
ANOTHER question instead of making a completely new topic. As of now I am planning to get the GTX 970. It will me a tight squeeze into my computer but it should be fine. On the other hand, the recommended watts for the GTX 970 is 500. The total power for the stock Dell power supply with my XPS is 460 watts. I know I'd never end up using 500 watts but I want to be safe. Can anyone point me in the direction of a 500-550 watt power supply that is compatible with my computer? -

therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Troubleshooting
Thank ya! I have an XPS 8700 Special Edition and I haven't upgraded it at all. It plays most games great! But I'm looking for more powerr. I checked out the GTX 970, I'll probably end up getting it. -
I stand corrected. Can't wait till that update. x.x

It was supposed to be released last wendsay from what I had heard. But then they said it might've come out last Friday if they were fast about it, when Friday passed, they said "definitely next Wednesday". Which is in two days.

This is why I never try to be a hero anymore

Being a hero is if you actually saved your friend. You were both fresh spawns anyways. It doesn't count. :p -

wind direction/speed feedback to the player
therandomredstone replied to akafugitive's topic in Suggestions
Wouldn't it be nice if they added in Wind for whenever you are sniping? You'd have to have a speedometer for extremely long distances, though. The devs are all about realism, right? wind Is real. -
Have you tried re-installing it?

There are currently Mosins, which are just bolt action military rifles. Until SVDs are added to the game sometime this week, you have to find a Mosin. Don't try too hard, though. This week everyone's characters are being reset. If you want to find a Mosin, look in big houses and industrial areas. Or look on dead bodies.. Cheers.

Dayz really blurry and zoomed in
therandomredstone replied to penguinplayz's topic in New Player Discussion
/"pretend" moved to Troubleshooting Step One: Go to your Desktop Step Two: Click on the Documents Folder on your Taskbar Step Three: Under "This PC" Go to Documents Step Four: Click on the DayZ Folder Step Five: Right click the DayZ.cfg file and click "open with" Step Six: Open the DayZ.cfg file with notepad or a different text editing program Step Seven: Find where it says "Resolution_W=----; and "Render_W=----; Resolution_H=----;" Render_H=----" Step Eight: Most monitors have a screen resolution of 1920x1080p. So if this is your monitors screen resolution, change the file to this: Resolution_W=1920; Render_W=1920; Resolution_H=1080; Render_H=1080; Step Nine: Overwrite the DayZ.cfg file Step Ten: Have fun! Hope this helped! :) -
How can I find servers that aren't fully looted?
therandomredstone replied to pikmonster's topic in General Discussion
With persistence, finding loot will always be someone difficult. (especially to newer members). The servers you are playing on are not fully looted, you just are not looking in the right places. Here are a couple of tips: 1- Make sure that the server has between 1-5 people on it. You won't find squat if you join a server with 50 other fresh spawns running around. 2- Get your butt off that coast! I stay on the coast until I have a backpack and some food and a basic way to defend myself (a baseball bat). Once you have enough food and something to protect yourself. Face the ocean. Turn to your right with the water to your left. Turn 90° to your right. Now run straight. If you get hungry, then eat. Just keep running until you find a town. And there's your loot. :)
