how to navigate to big cities without signs/compass/map when it is day?
therandomredstone replied to thomas05's topic in New Player Discussion
The experts have always taught themselves. Like games and movies, if you are really passionate about it, you will learn every little speck about it. Then whenever someone new comes along, they ask you about everything because you know so much. Learning things yourself better. -
how to navigate to big cities without signs/compass/map when it is day?
therandomredstone replied to thomas05's topic in New Player Discussion
Want to know how I learned the map? I spawned and chose a direction to run. When I find a town, I find the white signs. On my phone, I have this Izurvive app. I just find the translation for the sign so I know what town i'm in. I just did this^ a lot until I knew the names of towns, before slowly recognizing them by heart, and their location. It takes time. So just play the game and don't worry about where you are. -
You overall best bet is to look in deer stands. They are more common than guard towers, and although people look in deer stands for goods, you'd be more than likely to find one that wasn't searched. The new Winchester and the hunting scope look sick together. Has anyone had any luck finding it?

VSS's aren't in the game yet, buddy.

HELP A NOOB OUT?!

^you will only see a person aiming at you if you run around aimlessly. Just because someone is trying to kill you, that doesn't mean they're a bad guy. or a douche. -
I'm psyched about the new guns. I'm going to hold onto a Winchester with a hunting scope until I can get my hands on an SVD. Nice video, surprised you didn't forget the crawling zombies! Those were a shocker to me IG yesterday.

Persistence is one of the most important things IMO for DayZ. I was as bit bummed whenever I saw that they were turning it off (temporarily). Whenever they bring back persistence, they are also going to have fixed most of the major game breaking bugs of .57 (like VOIP) and everyone will celebrate. You saying "waaa, they removed persistence, I'm running away and never coming backkk!" is like you leaving your baby on a sidewalk in the rain, just because you found out that it's not potty-trained. You purchased this game to test and contribute to the developing of it with no right to whine about changes. Right now, it's not for your entertainment. It's for your entertainment when it's actually finished. Good day.

I wrote a whole lot on this piece of paper, but none of the 'typical scroll-down keys' are working. How do you do it?

If you want it easy, go here. Cheers.

If the update comes out of this, I'd be super surprised. Fun.
-
Wrong. Even if they wanted to release it right now, they couldn't. They have too much on their plates. Plus every update to fix the game will cost a fortune. They don't care about popularity right now. It's in alpha. They shouldn't necessarily have to.

Higher elevations= lower temperatures. If the dead don't kill ya, the scorching temperatures south of Vybor will. Just kidding. This is Ukrainian soil we're talking about. It can't get too hot. Can it?

I have a question.. So I want to be able to play DayZ at the most frames possible. So if I completely reset my computer to factory defaults with absolutely nothing on it and installed DayZ. Would I get more frames? Thank you.

Question regarding my Computer
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Technology/Programming
So I reset the bugger. The whole nine yards. DayZ and a few other gaming applications are installed, and that's about it. I'm running 15+ frames now in towns, 20+ frames in the open. Yay. -
If bohemia desided to do anything of the sort, the application process stricter than... stricter than... I don't know. But really strict.

So currently, you can eat worms but risk the chance of getting food poisoning, while in real life, worms are packed with protein and would be a very efficient food source. I only ask for worms to give more "energy" and not have the chance of making you sick.

Question regarding my Computer
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Technology/Programming
So I was reading around, and my computer (Dell XPS 8700) cannot use a 970 or 980 unless I have this BIOS A10 driver update. Can you, or anyone else, shed some light on this? -
Question regarding my Computer
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Technology/Programming
hrmph.. I guess my 970 will be a BIG improvement. But my stock 645 is good for the games I currently have. So I'm not really complaining. I ran DayZ on the same type of desktop but was completely reset. The only difference was the GPU was a GeForce GT 720. The game ran higher settings completely smooth. So I've decided to reset my computer and use it only for games. Sometime within the next two months I'll have time to purchase and install a GeForce GTX 970. It'll be a good purchase. :) -
hahaa you sonuvabitch! Now look has more posts! :p

Bam. Another suggestion. Over time you should become used to things like raw meat. Over a long period of time, that is.

Is it tomorrow? I'm too lazy to read. Plus whoever replies will help someone else out, too.

Question regarding my Computer
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Technology/Programming
1. I would not consider my GPU "Very weak." there are other GPUs out there that are looked-down upon waay more than mine. Plus, out of all the games I play, DayZ is the only one that struggles. I can play all of my other games on the highest settings. So I consider mine "partially acceptable". 2. I've been lazy, but since it seems to be a problem, I'll listen 3. tbh I never checked to see if there was a Technology/Programming section. I guess I'll post things like this here instead. -
Question regarding my Computer
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in Technology/Programming
Well.. I remember testing out DayZ as soon as I had gotten the computer (absolutely nothing else was on the computer) and I had put every setting on very high and the game was running perfectly fine. (I was also in the open) but still, if I set all of my settings to very high now, I'd get lag spikes here and there.
