like I said to Kirby12352 id ask "for what reason" if I didn't like their response I would've lost them. but if they said "I'm bleeding" (and they were id give them a rag or bandage) or if they said "I'm cold I have to make a fire" id give them rags, make sure they knew how to make a fire and tell them where they should build it so they don't get ambushed. Staying wary and not trusting others and being ready to kill at a moments notice is important, but depending on the situation being nice never hurts.

Your exactly right, no matter how nice someone sounds, you never trust them, if he said "you got bandages" I would of said "for what purpose?" if I felt he was lying or his excuse was dumb id be like "come here" id turn a corner, flank him and hed never see me again. that actually happened once, when I lost the guys I heard him say "damn hes gone" I was glad I got out of there and trusted my gut!

Nice sorry, this just proves that most people in DayZ only care about their survival, if they have broken legs and you heal them, they will take it a step further to insure their survival and attempt to kill you for your loot. Players in dayz, come in only four different ways. 1.They kill you on sight no matter what 2. They talk to you and if you sound annoying or not worth their time they shoot you. 3. They act friendly for 5 minutes then stab you in the back and loot you 4. Or they are truly friendly and will follow you to the end and never betray you. Or they are friendly and part ways with you. We have the most little amount of fours in dayz, then there is twos, then ones, then threes. People don't treat DayZ like its real, but if they did this game would be THAT much better, and safer.. But safe isn't always good... Now... Share Some Times You Got Mugged, Killed, And Betrayed!

I too, have friends that ive known for 3+ YEARS that would try to kill me for the same reasons, that's why I only play with the ones that take games (such as this one) seriously. Thank you for your input! cheers!!

I learned that, but the main point (at least I think) is that you cant trust others BECAUSE of the reason of them having the chance of being maniac players, and not full out RPG players. But thank you for your input!

I never thought this thread would get so popular.. Anyways I've learned my lesson. in DayZ never trust anyone unless its a faithful gaming companion that you have had for years. But I've had to make decisions, and kill others. This game scares me. But that's EXACTLY what keeps me going. I treat everyone as if "they just want my military gear" and I'm right. They will act friendly but then right when my back is turned they will try to kill me. I now trust no one in DayZ. unless my deep deep GUT tells me they are alright. But is almost NEVER the case. Thank you guys. I appreciate your opinions. :)

Ok so there is a server that I like to play on "" PINEBACK MOUNTAIN "" But I am thinking of setting up a camp (I know it will be found eventually) but I don't know if the server has persistence on, which will allow my fire and tent to stay even after I leave and the server resets. Is there a link or something that I will be able to use to find out if a server has persistence, items drop when you swim, etc. If there is some sort of website or program or wiki I could use to find out DayZ server specs (persistence) then could you please let me know? ~~~Cheers Mates!

I was in a hospital in chernogorsk or electro, and these two guys outside were like "is anyone in there" I made the biggest mistake and said "yeah, yeah I am" came outside, they said they were looking for a "dangerous criminal" a minute later a fresh spawn whom I've never seem before walks up to the three of us and says "you there in the orange raincoat *me* your the one that killed me!" I never killed anyone at all in this server, so I denied it. Then the whole vibe felt kind of spooky, so just darted. the two first guys said "why you running" "we are not going to hurt you" I came back and was an idiot and was talking about how "I'm not supposed to trust anyone in this game' one pulled a gun on me and shot, I got hit and I ran, they eventually found me and killed me. Lesson learned. if a player doesn't know I'm there, lets keep it that way. A few days later I was in a server with only 5 people, I was in the fairly big city to the right of berizino, I player turned the corner right when I did, I was fully geared he wasn't, I said "stop moving, get on the ground" (I later found out my mic wasn't to my mouth) he said "i cant here you" a second later I saw him pull out his gun, I panicked, didn't hesitate, and I shot him 4 times with my 3.57 magnum revolver, I quickly took his ammo, and killed three zombies attracted to my gunshot, and darted to the woods. I headed north west, passed the NE airfield, when I was directly north I headed south to the coast at Chernogorsk. I encountered a zombie, no big deal. but I couldn't quite hit him with my firefighters axe. he ruined my uk dpm camo tactical vest. I made room in my backpack for essential ammo and my morphine and matches, and discarded the extra 40 9mm ammo I had. I plan on traveling all the way back to the West airfield to get another tactical vest. Which will take a good 30 minutes to a hour to get to unfortunately. Hopefully by the time I get another tactical vest and head to berizino, (my favorite town because of the surrounding woods and such) Ill have some more stories for you guys! Cheers mates!

You make a good point, all bambi's I've came across where pretty respectful, I said "backup before you get shot" in a calm, normal tone, they said "ok, sorry" I say are you hungry and if they are I drop them a can of food and we both are on our way, the situations are always different but they are the same pretty much, and they all say thanks and thanks for not killing me. But the annoying, realism-breaking losers you speak of. Need to be stopped.. Cheers!

Your questions already answered by now. Same thing happened to me, just back up from the fire and face away from it. Your vision should take a few minutes to come back but it will! Cheers!

I bet you already have the answer to your issue by now, but incase you haven't or peoples' responses are not clear. To prevent combat logging in DayZ the Dev Team has made it to where your character never actually despawns from the server you left. for 15-30 seconds. I learned this a few times, when I was about to die by a character RIGHT BY ME I combat logged, and my player was gone. That is because when I logged out, my character was still there and was going to be for 15-30 seconds. So sure enough I got killed and looted after I left. So always make sure you leave a server in a safe spot, not in the middle of Electro or the NEAF. And if you join a non official server, there is also a chance your character could be reset. So when you join a server make sure the name looks atleast halfway desent. For example servers named ( PINEBACK MOUNTAIN, Green Mountain Sancuary, RealismRP, Hosted by gameservers:: Persistence: ON,) are the right servers to join, none of the (high loot, day all the time, BEST SERVER, or JJJclan Free Roaming no PANTS) servers like this are bad news. What do you mean tents don't work efficiently currently? I've watched tons of videos and such, and there were no complaints about tens.

Thank you, so what you are saying is that if your tents de-spawned when you despawned then it would make the game that much more un realistic and technically unfair, I get that, and I agree. I just wanted to clarify before I had put down a tent. Thanks!
