I'm very curious. Friends and multiple others have said that the .58 Update may be coming out tonight's maintenance? Thoughts? Opinions?

This suggestion is just what the title says. Improve the IG voices of others. As of right now, the voices lag. Here's an example: Me: "Hello?" Survivor: "Well He *3 seconds pass* llo survivor, how are y*cuts off* Which brings me to the next part of this suggestion. It may not be something that needs to be coded to fixed, but simply taught. There is a delay from the time you say something to the time the other person here's it. I've watched countless videos and heard countless times, the end of whatever someone is saying is cut off because they let go of the "talk" button (mostly caps) right when they're done talking or even half a second before. I take it upon myself to hold down caps for a good half a second-second when I have finished talking, to make sure whoever I'm talking to has heard every bit of what I am saying. Now for the quality.. The quality of voices right now is.. eh. Couldn't it be improved and be as good as (or close to) .. I don't know.. Teamspeak? I know they haven't really had time to sit down and go "Let's fix the voip!" and it's probably something they'll end up fixing in the polishing stage but it's something I just wanted to really quickly address.

I snuck up behind someone once and hit them in the back of the neck with a firefighter's axe. IRL that would've killed them. But instead they just turned around and shot me. If the developers are ever planning on making weapons harder to find, then they better improve melee fighting. Making melee fighting almost just as dangerous as with a weapon. I carry a combat knife around if I ever need to use it. But I use an improvised knife to open cans, cut bushes, etc. The thing is though.. If I attack an unaware foe with my 'Combat' Knife, and they have a gun, they'll probably still win. Even if I sneak up behind them. Unless I can get a good 2-3 head stabs, but still.

Another perfect example of how terrible wall peaking is right now.

In much earlier versions of DayZ, when you held a sidearm/pistol you would do so with two hands. They changed that, and now you only need one. I think some sort of toggle between the two difference 'stances' would and could be beneficial. Let's say you are raiding a house that you know a fellow survivor is held up in. If your gun wasn't raised (but you still knew someone was there), you would not hold the gun with one hand. That seems rather unprepared I must say. But if you were to toggle the way you held the gun when not raised, and you were using both hands it would have some attributes. You could raise the weapon faster, perhaps? Seems like something people could use. Thoughts?

Two other friends and I squad wiped 6 people in Elektro. Fun times.

Love your name btw.

I'm assuming you already know this but.. have you tried turning it up all the way in Config? I play on an RP server where voice is important so I typically have my effects kinda turned down, while my VOIP is always at 100%

This video shows why wall peaking is such a problem.

What are you looking forward to most with 0.58 stable?

I cannot wait until I can actually store shit in a cargo truck. I'll fill it with jerry cans and I'll be unstoppable. -
Let's talk bout them Chainsaws
therandomredstone replied to venkman302's topic in General Discussion
This. It runs out of gas insanely too fast. The time you have to spend looking for a jerry can and filling it up before filling up the chainsaw and having to worry about where to put the two hard-to-find items is not worth the 30 seconds of "vrOOM VrooM VROOOOM" -
Why aren't zombies carrying anything?
therandomredstone replied to Sperglord's topic in General Discussion
It's planned. The zombies are not going to carry items on them until you kill them and access their inventory. That way the items are generated on the spot. Same with clothing. They'll probably "Burn" or "mesh" whatever random set of clothes on the zombie, and when you access the inventory, that specific outfit generates but when you take it off, it's still on the zombie. Take away a little realism for server performance. -
Am I the only one who thinks the mod had better atmosphere?
therandomredstone replied to Sperglord's topic in General Discussion
They have legal right to. People are legally not in the position to complain if the developers do anything. It's in alpha. In alpha, shiz changes. -

Listen to the music that Inception. shared with us. And look at the DayZ Logo. Do you not see how helpless and hell-full it looks with the music? You should feel scared. Alone. Helpless. Fighting for your life. And the other survivors just make it worse. This game is gone about, completely the wrong way. But I have faith that it will change. -

If you are ever laying prone, a V3S can go over your head and you won't die. jk. Bullets I suppose. Click me.

Keep in mind, that although inland isn't as terrible as the coast, it still is a force to be reckoned with. Typically, anyone you see inland are more experienced than those you see on the coast. Most of the time, people will not hesitate to shoot you but that doesn't mean don't talk. Talking can go a long way.

I think the developers will be able to add a more detailed state-of-decay type of feeling once we have the new engine, renderer, and things like that. People say that the outbreak was too fast for any major signs of distress/panic; yes, that is true, but you must also keep in mind that the game takes place a bit after the initial outbreak. And distress and panic is not exclusive to right when the infection hit, but also the aftermath.

Dayz Why he dont die ? my m4a4 jammed or mouse ?

I'm surprised you lived long enough to find an M4. Ever heard of tapping the fire key instead of holding it down? :emptycan: Combat logging.. -
I have two different characters depending on the servers I chose?
therandomredstone replied to connorchappman's topic in New Player Discussion
lolz calm down I used that terminology so the OP would have an easier-to-understand answer. The only difference the two game modes have is the camera modes. It's what bohemia named them regardless of their features, so that's what I'm going to call them. -
omg yass same! x WE picked up a friend a few times who was being chased by infected. We all hopped out, opened up a can of whoop-ass and continued on our way.

therandomredstone replied to connorchappman's topic in New Player Discussion
Public regular mode/1st and third person servers have one character. Public hardcore/first person servers have their own character. private servers have their own character. -
I remember seeing SOMEWHERE a female school zombie with a backpack and everything. I'm not delusional. I know it exists. Does anyone know where I could find this photo?

But is it really necessary? What use would a real survivor have with such a large aircraft? I understand flying is faster means of transportation, but nobody would want to repair and maintain a cargo plane just to get from point A to point B. If anything, a plane of that size would have the wings torn off, and used as a shelter! And not to mention the fact that the region of Chernarus the game takes place in, is a predominantly lower-class one, and was in war before the apocalypse. They would've had to spend way more than they had to have that plane and runway by themselves, but maintaining the suckers also? Holy hell. An airstrip of that size would've been a full-on warzone. Someone would want to "take it off their hands". It's a nopperz from me just wait til' mods.
