Ok, so I saw a video and a guy zoomed in with the Long Range Scope and it made a little "zoom in sound". The video was almost a whole year old but still, how or can you even zoom in with a scope in DayZ?
-
Another useful tip is. Find a group of bandits who lock you in a church with 9 or 10 zombies with no weapon and see if you get out alive and are awarded a magnum! that's what happened to me!
-
hmm.. I will trade you an m4a1 for that magnum if you wish.

Wasted 3 weeks on SA / going back to MOD?
therandomredstone replied to deezdrama's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The mod has more things and is less buggy, I'll give you that. You should of read about tents or done a bit of researching to catch up with the latest do's and don'ts of the Standalone version. Currently, tents are NOT advised. Because of their weekly swipes. But their weekly swipes are only on Wednesdays, and before you mess with tents there are a few things you should know about setting up camps. 1. They HAVE to be on a persistent server, otherwise they despawn after a server restart. 2. Have a good hiding place, your tent I can GARANTEE was found by another player, no matter how well had you hid it, which brings me to my next tip. 3. Place your tents on very low pop/ unused servers. That way you have a greater chance of some other player not stumbling upon your tents. Even with listing all the things above, tents still aren't recommended, because the only reason people would use them are for stockpiling, but if they were swiped every Wednesday , then there really is no point to owning a tent. I believe your Standalone experience would've been much more pleasurable if you hadn't been worrying about setting up a camp with a tent. What I do in DayZ is snipe and watch, I get on a hill overlooking a popular town like berizino or electro, and just chill out. If someone comes walking by I might shoot them or I might not,. I get quite a rush from doing this, and all I really need is ammo and food and a simple med-kit with epi-pens, morphine, and such, and maybe a few tools and stuff like a rangefinder. You sure can do more in the mod, however the Standalone has a unique feeling from it that I have yet to receive from playing the mod. -
They aren't going to implement making houses. All they are wanting to add in, for "building" is fences, posts, barricades. Cover, etc.

Medic here. Everyone is starving to death
therandomredstone replied to spuddy0108's topic in General Discussion
Persistent servers never have loot. You just have to play on different servers and eventually, you will find the one that CRAP ton of loot. I have my server for that, but I will not ever disclose that information. Wanna watch a movie? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5KUyg7SyZk -
But seriously.. I love the Priest Zombie/Zed and would love to see more iterations and versions of him stalking around the Churches of Chernarus. Maybe even a Monk version that hangs around or inside those small temples lying around the place. This is what he looked like.. and I would love to see his return. What zombies would you all love to see added in to Chernarus? Woah ive never seen this zombie before, it looks pretty cool though!

Any News on REAL Snipers?
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in New Player Discussion
Your apology is accepted. There are players in game that despise me, because I catch them in the act, or avenge someone they committed an act upon. And then there are those that are grateful. A player was walking along the highway with handcuffs and a burlap sack on his head, I was in the trees with my trusty Mosin, I looked about 100 meters behind him, and sure enough there were three players with masks on, shadowing the restrained player. Soon after another fully geared player comes up ahead, and try's to help the restrained player. As he is successful, he gets shot, and left there unconscious, I got out of my post, rushed to him corpse and said "don't respawn, ill bring you back" an epi pen, morphine, a canteen of water and two canned peaches and a defibrillator unit later, I told him he would have to risk a blood transfusion, I gave him a bag of my blood, and ironically we had the exact same blood type, I had saved this man, we tracked down those that left him there. We ended them miserably inland from the coast about 60 meters. I tested a Bambi to see if he was worthy of their gear. This Bambi passed. I was fully geared, he said "you need any food? I have food." I declined his offer, and led him to the corpses, I said, "take what you want." it turns out it was his second time playing DayZ, and he was very grateful. I followed him for two hours in the game, guarding him without him knowing, another player was about to go up and shoot him, when the player took a shot, I immediately took fire and killed the stranger. The kid goes up to the body and I say "I had your back, but this is where we part." -
Ok, before I start, I just wanted to give ALL the credit to biggb45s because he gave me the idea to post this, so thanks biggb45s! Now lets begin... MREs would be another type of food that could be added into DayZ, they would spawn in train stations, jails, and firefighter stations "uncommonly" and they would be common in ALL military loot locations, all buildings at airfields, barracks, etc. In real life MREs are made to energize and hydrate the consumer. So one MRE would be equivalent to, I don't know, two and a half full canned peaches? Because canned peaches hydrate and energize you. MREs would do the same, except more efficiently. I don't know why they wouldn't or shouldn't, for that matter, be added into DayZ. They are perfect! If there is anyone that thinks otherwise, I am all ears. Really I am, because I don't see anything wrong with adding MREs in.

Then you gain karma, and the settlement of tumbleweed shuns you.

This would be a good "food" to give to your captives, and throw them in the woods and let fate decide if they shall life or not.

I don't like clans, a clan was sort of the wrong wording, they are people I encountered who didn't shoot me, we exchanged steam names, and I talked to one recently who is full out in their clan, who has been planning this for a LONG time. He just wanted me in. But i'm a lone player, the reason I am wasting time with these guys, is because of all the life's they have took.

To have fun without the fear of dying and losing all of your stuff, and to help the development with the 0.51 patch and be the contributing person to this game that you agreed to be when you said "I agree" when you bought this game. That's why.

DayZ, for an alpha game, is simply amazing don't get me wrong, but PVP is the only really scary and life threatening thing in DayZ for the majority of people! Those few zombie stragglers aren't nothing! After Bohemia adds in the new Engine for Standalone, we should be able to support more zombies, by more zombies, I mean zombies at every corner in big cities like electro and Cherno, and maybe inside of buildings as well. Here are multiple things that this would cause: Less Bambi activity: Bambi's wouldn't run around playing music in big cities anymore, because even if they did, they would be dead in a matter of seconds. Geared people scared of zombies: If you are geared in DayZ, you could run through a city and deal with all the zombies if you wanted to, when a zed at every corner is added, even the most geared of people will be scared, they would have to form groups to enter the city's, to deal with the hordes of zombies in their way. Buildings would be used as shelter: Buildings as of now, are pretty much only looked at, as "loot spawns here", not, "I need to survive in here". You could somehow have snuck by a horde of zeds, to hold up inside of a building, with all your food and water, till help arrives! This game wouldn't just be PVP: If the zombies were a hard threat, that could take out any type of players with their excessive numbers, players would have to join sides, to stay alive against the undead. So far, this game is a PVP survival sandbox, that just happens to have a few hostile entity's here and there. Make this game the ZOMBIE game it was meant to be, and add em them undead numbers!
-
Well, walking dead is a zombie apocalypse, right now, all this game is, is find things, pick one of few sides society has put together, end up getting killed, and repeat. This game so far, isn't a zombie apocalypse, and if you don't want a game that includes things in this suggestion, I recommend you finding a different game to play, because sooner or later, this game is going to turn into the zombie apocalypse that we all KNOW it will become.
-
That makes since, before you want to add in more of them, you want to make sure, you aren't adding in a million more buggy zombies. Hell, when I think of it now, and imagine 30 zombies glitching through a wall and killing you, adding more zombies at this state doesn't sound so much like a ray of sunshine. But when zombies are fixed, COMPLELTEY for that matter, absolutely greater numbers should be implemented.

Any News on REAL Snipers?
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in New Player Discussion
I play the game, therefore I am a player. My play style is different than yours. But guess what? I like it. And I don't make life "hell" for other players, just those who deserve it. I saw a man getting held up by two others once, he had his hands up in an airfield, and two guys, one with an AKM and another with an M4A1 were aiming at him, they put him in handcuffs and were about to execute him, I shot both of them, gave him cover while he broke out of his handcuffs, and took what he wanted, from the other two dead players. I help people by killing others. I don't grief. I play the game. -
So in DayZ, last night my microphone was being dumb, so I had to type to communicate with people, anytime I said "hey" or "lets travel together", or just ANYTHING, about 60 seconds later it kicked me from the game saying something along the lines of "kicked from session. BattleEye: kicked for chat restriction". btw this was on a 1st/3rd person south-central experimental server. So what happened here?
-
That Is kind of dumb, they should only kick you If you say a million things in two seconds, or something like that.
-
Very much. Would I like my optimization to be truly tested for what it is? I think yes.
-
I found a Banana in a sink once, it's accompanied me on my travels ever since.

I've delt with invisible zombies, indestructible zombies, food glitches, I've dealt with EVERYTHING. My player was fully geared today, I wanted to get a beautiful view from the tower in The Lumber Mill. I was on the tower; glorious view. Until.. guess what? I slid through the metal railing, and fell to my death, and what makes it worse? I spawn RIGHT by the tower, it takes me 10 seconds, I get back to the location and I CANT EVEN FIND my dead body to grab my bag and gun and stuff!! Like what the hell??? Don't worry. Tomorrow I'm going to re-gear. My friend has a Mosin and a CRAP ton of ammo. Ill go through, find a blaze 95 double rifle, and ill settle for that, because my friend has 300+ bullets. Then we will go through, and I will "collect" more gear. Fun opportunities are now not possible (firefights, curtain situations) but now.. While I struggle to get re-geared with my friend. New opportunities arise.. Him having to watch my back, us having to stay alive. Me looking as less of a threat, when really, whoever is near me has a Mosin sniper strained on them, who is covering my back, willing to shoot on my word.. Yeah, SO WHAT I died from falling to my death from a dumb glitch. But guess what? Re-gearing is the fun part. If you call finding a Blaze 95, and shooting someone for their stuff, "re-gearing".. So if you die and lose everything, COMPLAINING isn't going to get your stuff back, moving on, and looking at the brighter side of things will.. Stay Frosty My Friends.. Post below, a time in DayZ, where you were just COMPLETLEY done, when you wanted to give up.. and Did... or... Didn't....
