In DayZ there are quite a few different play styles. Unless you are a crazy good woodsman who can just live off animal meat and snipe zombies as targets, you are the type of survivor that sooner or later HAS to step food into a town. I think I player should be able to go in the woods with nothing but maybe a improvised courier bag, and after an hour or two have an entire camp set up. How would this be accomplished? Easy. Here are a few things to start with: -The ability to make improvised tents. If you could go in the woods, after making a few tools and stuff you could use a BUNCH of long sticks, leaves and brush and you could make an improvised tent. It would be used for keeping you warm in the cold DayZ nights, and maybe even their could be a little door that you have to crawl out of. -Start fires without needing an axe or matches- It would be quite hard but you could get sticks from bushes and mix them with maybe rags or a type of leave to make the fireplace kit, and you could use to flint stones to "spark a fire" but it would take from 1 to 20 hits to get it started. -Killer Sticks. You could use a sharp rock (that you would have to find) and you would sit there and sharpen a stick and eventually have a stick equivalent to a sharp-shanking baseball bat. could be used to hunt animal. -I am one with tha bush. If you go in the woods with a tee shirt and pants, you would have to modify your clothes for camo and stuff. You could put grass over you, have a makeshift camo, you could cut off the bottom leggings part from your pants and put them on your knees for support. (irrelevant suggestion) To make the tents actually keep you warm, nighttime in DayZ should be SUPER COLD. Because, c'mon, its Russia for Christ sakes. It gets cold. (Adding onto the last suggestion) If you made nighttime super cold in DayZ, then what about those people who aren't in super cozy invisible awesome safety tents? well it'll tell you! they should be able to wear layered clothing.... ._. You could have a green T-Shirt, with a "red checked shirt" that could kind of be a flannel, and then you could wear a Down Jacket! Now you tell me that wouldn't be warm! Because in DayZ, if you have two t shirts and a down jacket and you are freezing your ASS off at night with only the down jacket, it would only make sense to put on the two extra T-Shirts you have with you! .51 was recently released, .52 is ways away. Things like this could easily be in the game. Well... all of the suggestions except for the last two will take awhile before they are ever added in, but the layered clothes and the cold nights should be added in the next stable. (.52)

if you want to keep your character I would advise not playing dayz for a few hours. Your player could be gone like that, and I don't think you want that

If you are worrying how long it will take, what are the aftermath effects, blah blah blah, just listen closely: -Tell ALL FRIENDS to not play DayZ: Two reasons, first reason is that if you have been playing DayZ and your character has been 'swiped', well that's not true. Most if not all of the servers are not connected to the Central Hive currently, so the servers have 'no character save to grab' for you to play, if you are playing DayZ in your 'temporary new character' then get off immediately, if the server you are playing on reconnects to the central hive WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING then your geared load out will be overwritten with what was supposed to be the 'temporary glitched new spawn character'. So till this all blows off, DO NOT play DayZ and tell all friends to NOT play DayZ either. -What in the world to do till this attack ends?: I have friends who are eager to play, but I had told them if they play, our characters could easily go POOF out the window. So until this attack has been confirmed to be over (the warning on this webpage should be gone, or a Standalone Developer on twitter has said that its over) what you can do in the meantime is go watch a movie or two. Makes sense. This is what I needed to know; if DayZ was safe to play right now. I'm not going to play it for awhile or at least till they are connected to the central hive.

I'm sometimes a extremely dumb person. So if I play dayz right now, there is a chance that something will happen? like character swipes/high ping/lagging?

Before we head into cities. If we are going in together then we scout out the area on the hills. I check the firefighter stations, the hospital, the jailhouse, the streets. Ive seen many people like this and got the jump on them. If only one of us is going in the city, the other one is with a mosin keeping the one in the city cover from anyone who would try to get a jump on them. We have never died like your friend has, but we've came damn close to it.

So I think guitars or some sort of acoustic instrument should be implemented. Here are some reasons: -Scary encounters: you see a guy walking in the street with a mask stringing three different cords walking towards you. Pretty scary, especially when he starts running -LETS SING A CAMPFIRE SONG!: Lets say you have a little group, you guys could play the guitar, and.. well.. sing! how fun! -Loneliness sustained: You could be in an abandoned hospital playing the guitar and getting emotional because the world has ended and all. #apocalypse -Don't DO THIS TO ME!: A group of laughable bandits could of kidnapped you and started playing you guitar songs for whatever reason whilst swaying back and forth. Sounds pretty fun don't ya think!? This is how you would use it: You would equip your guitar and click F or your "use" button, then select "play guitar". When you are "playing guitar, a curtain row of keys would be used for stringing, and your mouse or something would be used to "put your fingers" on the handle string part for high/low pitch. Or some other way of using it.. Doesn't really matter..

Whenever you eat human meat, every few minutes your player either laughs or cries. If you eat human meat there is a 50/50 chance you wont get the disease. Anyways when you heard the laughter its either because someone near you had it or if it sounded REALLY close then you had it, either because you ate human meat, were force fed human meat, or the game desyncs and it just "gives you the kuru"

These servers that you are hopping to and from, are persistent. This is how persistent works from their birth: When a persistent server is FIRST created, there is normal loot, but as time goes by, and people go through cities like Cherno and electro and berinzino, those places upon restart do not get new loot. The places with ALL the loot (usually CRAMMED TOGETHER LIKE A BI**H) are the places that people RARELY go to. So this is how these servers think, "ok so these towns are always looted and there is no loot, ill just place this loot in this forgotten bunker/barn" the server rethinks this every restart, and since these areas are forgotten or not looted, the loot stays every restart and new loot is added. So virtually these 'heavenly places' just gather more and more loot as time goes by. So if you want servers with loot they cant be persistent, unless you want to hunt down these mythic temples.

after I find a black tactical shirt I will head down and loot towns till I find morphine so I can go to my friends location and heal him when he spawns in.

So I hadn't played the .51 in stable till today, when I did it was amazing. So this is what happened: (in hardcore mode) A friend and I had played and logged off in the trees NE of Cherno. when I played today my friend wasn't on so I headed to that snowy mountain on the SE coast shoreline. When I was there I had found a player, he was looting and getting gear because he didn't have much things, I saw him before he saw me and I said "hey buddy, behind you!" (this was hardcore mode) he looked and panicked and wanted to run (this player had a bayonet, and a purple backpack) anyways I said "if you value your life you will cooperate and wont try anything, and you will stay alive." he had no mic but he ended up getting on the ground, the dude wasn't talking, he wasn't really reacting or responding to what I was saying, so I turned on direct communication again, raised my magnum and said "I'm really sorry about this." I put a bullet in his head, all was silent. I didn't touch his corpse at all, but simply climbed the mountain and waited for my friend. Time passed, my friend had showed, we were on the road no more than 10 meters from the mountain, my friend had just went and drunk water to get hydrated, when we were on the road and my friend was talking I said "shut up" he said "what?" I cut him off and said "SHUT UP.." I heard the faint sound of a engine that was growing fast, I said in a half whisper half scream voice "get down, car!!" my friend and I went prone, no more than 5 feet in the grass from the road. when the engine sound grew we were both wanting to move so we didn't get ran over. Sure enough a V3S zoomed by and my friend and I didn't hesitate to get on the road, crouch, aim down our Mosins and try to shoot the driver, but the road cut to the left and trees were blocking the view.
