because that's your playstyle, and that's fine.

if you read carefully at the end I ended up saying that the devs should not have to worry about these things until way in the future. Read before you speak.

Black Tactical Shirts?
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in New Player Discussion
after I find a black tactical shirt I will head down and loot towns till I find morphine so I can go to my friends location and heal him when he spawns in. -
So I hadn't played the .51 in stable till today, when I did it was amazing. So this is what happened: (in hardcore mode) A friend and I had played and logged off in the trees NE of Cherno. when I played today my friend wasn't on so I headed to that snowy mountain on the SE coast shoreline. When I was there I had found a player, he was looting and getting gear because he didn't have much things, I saw him before he saw me and I said "hey buddy, behind you!" (this was hardcore mode) he looked and panicked and wanted to run (this player had a bayonet, and a purple backpack) anyways I said "if you value your life you will cooperate and wont try anything, and you will stay alive." he had no mic but he ended up getting on the ground, the dude wasn't talking, he wasn't really reacting or responding to what I was saying, so I turned on direct communication again, raised my magnum and said "I'm really sorry about this." I put a bullet in his head, all was silent. I didn't touch his corpse at all, but simply climbed the mountain and waited for my friend. Time passed, my friend had showed, we were on the road no more than 10 meters from the mountain, my friend had just went and drunk water to get hydrated, when we were on the road and my friend was talking I said "shut up" he said "what?" I cut him off and said "SHUT UP.." I heard the faint sound of a engine that was growing fast, I said in a half whisper half scream voice "get down, car!!" my friend and I went prone, no more than 5 feet in the grass from the road. when the engine sound grew we were both wanting to move so we didn't get ran over. Sure enough a V3S zoomed by and my friend and I didn't hesitate to get on the road, crouch, aim down our Mosins and try to shoot the driver, but the road cut to the left and trees were blocking the view. My friend had to get off after that but this was an amazing experience. Do YOU have an amazing experience to share? Share it in the section below! If the man I killed is reading this then just know I am deeply sorry and I did what I did to live, not die.

make v3s (or vehicle in general) more silence
therandomredstone replied to lauri7x3's topic in Suggestions
If you are in first person when driving the sound is muffled, make sure your friends have their mics closer to their face/ microphone dB turned up all the way (in recording devices/recording device/levels). But if its in direct communication in game, then turn up VOIP all the way, hell, do that anyways. Whenever people in game are talking to you (bandits, strangers, survivors) then you will be able to hear them much better. But in real life the V3S is SHIT LOUD. So if you just cant handle the heat then turn down your in game sound brother. -
The only windows you can shoot through that are guaranteed are broken windows. Any windows that aren't broken, if they look like you can shoot through them then you can take your chances. I might of done the same thing in my earlier DayZ days, but combat logging like you did can easily get you killed, incase you didn't know, when you combat log your character doesn't despawns from the server for at the MOST 30 seconds, I learned this the hard way... twice... What happens is when you log out your character crouches, sits, crouches again and stands up, then 5 or so seconds later it disappears. So if something like that happens and you feel he would kill you, chances are your guts are right, if that is the case then your BEST BET out of anything is to open the door and DART THE HELL OUTTA THERE!! Once you are a good 400 meters away then logging out isn't really combat logging, and you are less likely to still get killed. (at least if you don't log out in the middle of the airfield). Hope I helped, any additional questions please ask.

It was not about the fresh spawn, it was about the car passing by. But I just wanted to share what led up to the car driving by.

First of all I had said "if he cooperates". The guy wasn't responding at all, behind his screen he could've been thinking anything. If I said "if you don't try anything I'll let you live" then I would've kept my word and he would still be alive. But he wasn't cooperating. And secondly, if we were stupid, like you, we would've jumped out and shot at the driver head on. If we gotten ran over (like you would've) then what? But that didn't happen, because we were smart. If the road didn't cut to the left and if it wasn't blocked by trees we would've got him, but what does it matter anyways? He didn't know we were there the entire time, that's better than us shooting at him head on, us missing and him getting away, finding another group and telling them about us or something. Or what if he had a group of his own and they tried to track us down? Too many things could've happened If he knew we were there. I appreciate your advice but I, along with everyone reading it, will not follow it, therefore your "advice" is a waste, and because of that, you have no business being here and you should LEAVE. Thank youu!

you're right. I edited the post. ;)

I just loaded into dayz. first time with the .51 stable update. Anyways I loaded in the game and my mosin with its grass wrap was glitched, the grass wrap was tripled in my inventory on the mosin, I said "no worrys" took off the grass wrap and the glitch was gone, but now I cant put the grass wrap back on the mosin? why not?

Cant Use Grass Wrap?

I knew about the new ghillie wrap for a long time now, it isn't really my priority but for anyone seeing this post in the future, then your post will help them greatly. -
Third Person View should be Over-the-Shoulder, NOT a bird's eye view.

Cant Use Grass Wrap?
therandomredstone replied to therandomredstone's topic in New Player Discussion
oh pooey.. But thanks for letting me know! -
My problem is, I never use my magnum, but yesterday, my assault vest was almost ruined and I was being chased by three zombies, two civilian and one army, if I got hit even once more in the chest my vest might of became ruined. So I said, "why not" and pulled out my fully loaded magnum. I killed all three zombies no problem, but the problem that kind of scared me. is my gun was "swaying" when I was aiming down. I watched a video on YouTube where someone was using a magnum, and there's was perfectly still. no swaying. Is there any key I'm forgetting to press, or should I be crouched before I want to get an accurate shot on someone/something?

I have had the same regular mode character for the last 4 updates now, anyways when I was about a week in my character, a gun, no ammo, food, water, blah blah blah, I was at that insanely big tower to the east of the NW airfield, anyways a glitch had occurred and my legs were just "broken" out of nowhere, anyways I didn't panic because I thought I could go chop some sticks and make a splint with the bandages I had. When I wasn't able to make a splint and I realized I needed rags I panicked. It was the luckiest day of my life because out of the 6 people on the server, a guy comes running along and I say "hey you! hey hey hey! I need your help" and he said "hi" and I said "do you have any rags? my legs are broke and I need rags to make a splint." he said "yeah one second" he dropped some rags, I made a splint and while I was applying it I was sure he was just going to kill me, instead we talked for a few minutes, I got his steam name and we set off different ways. If you have more things than a player and you want to help them without sounding vulnerable like "hey I have all this stuff how about you kill me?" what you do is sound commanding and trigger happy. I found a guy once (I had the same character and was fully geared) but I found a guy at the hospital in electro, anyways I said "hey you, don't move" (he had no mic) I said "if you come near me I shoot you, got it?" and I said "so you need anything? food? water?" he said both so I gladly gave him a bunch of food and water and opened his canned food since he did not have a sharp object. I said "you cant be too carful out here, get outta here before I change your mind and put a bullet in your skull" he said "thanks" in the chat and ran off. If you are the one "calling the shots" other usually hostile people will think twice and will end up thinking "this guy isn't too bad after all" after helping them.

Picture this, a player is sitting at his little camp fire and he happens to have canned spaghetti! YUM right? but when he goes to cook it.. wait.. that's right, he can't. What I was thinking is that you are able to find bowls and such around when looting buildings and towns, you keep those bowls and spoons and forks and whatnot and whenever you have a little fire going you can crack open your canned beans, cook them, put them in a bowl and eat them! It would have a major energy boost I'm guessing, since its cooked and all but this game would be that much better with something like this in it.

Santa Hat (maybe full suit) only as December loot
therandomredstone replied to Karmaterror's topic in Suggestions
It would be interesting and entertaining. But that is not the type of game this was made to be, so they wont take time to add a "Santa suit" to a zombie apocalypse. This isn't going to turn into one of those super random, weird sandbox games like Gary's Mod. -
this would be a really neat addition to the game. To make it even better, after holding weapons for a LONG time your character starts to get stronger, and after you have had the same character for a few weeks, your character could go miles and miles with weapons in-hand and stuff. But this isn't quite something that they are entirely focused on, if they add this in the game, then it wont be any time soon.

So I want to join and mess around on an Experimental Server, because its a different branch, and id just use that "spare character" to mess around and stuff. But when I try to join experimental servers, it says "Bad Version, Server Rejected Connection." What do I do? And anyone else who runs along this problem.

He did kill you legitimately, if it was one of those thin metal sheet shacks, then he killed you by shooting through the wall, simple as that, but you are also able to shoot through doors, so he might of shot through the door and hit you, or there was a way somehow he could see you, meaning the shack you were in wasn't completely closed off. None the less, he shot a bullet, and it hit you! next time that happens, be compliant, say "ok I'm coming out don't shoot" then come out and if and when he says "drop your gun", ya just shoot him. Or you say "is that your friend with the M4 behind you? when he looks, you shoot him. People have tried to mug me not once, not twice, but 12 times! and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. I killed them. You just gotta know how to trick them, and toy with them. when you talk you have to have confidence, pretend you have 5 friends behind him with m4's strained at him skull, that will ease your tone. ~Don't let this happen again, ya here?

1. Weapons currently do not degrade by just sitting there on their own. 2. Dry bags in game are unable to get wet whatsoever. 3. Best bet would be the woods. Maybe about 600 meters inland, north west of the lumber mill. (place with the tower and jail NW of berizino, and its south of the crashed ship on the east coast). Place an item there in a bush, screenshot it (F12) and when you want to collect the gear, just review the screenshot. 4. Tents are weekly cleared every Wednesday, So what you could do is go on the (persistent server) that you plan on stashing your items, and on a Tuesday, place down an item that you would risk losing, then on the following Thursday go back and see if the item is still there. If it is, then you know that whatever you stash, (Mosin, Drybag with materials, etc.) will be there indefinitely till another player finds it, or a bug gets rid of it (bugs like this aren't that common). I hope I was able to help you in anyway, if there is something that you are a bit confused about, or need any other tips, (quote) this post, and tell me your question so I can answer it ASAP.
