This is all planned to be fixed along the 2015 roadmap. The fire's glare will "dim" as you walk away. If there are bushes and trees shrouding the fire, it will be more difficult to see it. If a fire is in a open field, you will be able to see it for MILES away. This is not the main priority currently. But trust me, it will be.

It depends on how you blow on your hands. You do moisturize them but this animation would cause you to get a bit colder after you warmed up a bit. For example you have to snipe someone in the next 20 seconds. You warm up your hands, your hands are steady, you kill them. Your hands would've warmed up for a minute or so because of your core inner temperature, but then as the moisture that you had breathed on your hands starts to freeze and get cold, that's when you should wear gloves or go find a fire. So this wouldn't warm your hands up, for more than 30 seconds before you started to get even colder and shakier than you were before. After the temperature and weather system is almost perfect halfway into 2015, they MIGHT add this in. But it would be a cool addition!

Duh this has already been suggested. But its a good suggestion. After the new AI, renderer, engine and all that shizz I believe smoking could be possible. I looked under one of those blue things and found a pack of cigarettes with a few scattered on the ground. Imagine how convenient it would be to pick up one of those cigarettes, light it with a match, and smoke up. Maybe to get over the shakes from killing a cannibal, or seeing somebody get mugged and decapitated, whatever your reason would be. Smoking shall be resorted! Smoking I think would be added in the game in later stages. Maybe around the second half of the 2015 roadmap, even though it isn't listed anywhere (I don't think at least) Thoughts?

Correction, cigarettes contain nicotine which is a drug. But the entire cigarette itself is not considered a drug. Just what's in it. Its a hard concept to grasp, but its true. But smoking will be a fun feature once its added in, regardless!

I didn't read through the OP's post all the way. I am too lazy. This game is progressing very effectively. It sure as hell isn't perfect the way it is now. But this game is a simulator. Not a Call of Duty game. If a player can't remember you when he sees you 5 minutes later, that is his problem. It will get him killed. But name tags and such wont be added in. The game is fine. Don't worry about it, just play it.

Enjoy that "new" feeling that you currently have. If you play often, it won't last long. But just focus on surviving! After getting killed by a zombie or two you will start to learn the hang of it! I want to tell you about other players but you will soon experience it for yourself... Ah what the hell. Players in this game do not care about you. They don't want to survive with you. All they want to do is take what you have found. That's it. Treat everyone as if they are hostile, but that doesn't mean that you still can't have a friendly conversation. Remember what I just said above. It will get you farther than others have. This game is dangerous. But not because of the zombies, but the people. Stay Safe.

Let me tell you, all the true, good people that play dayz, if you wonder why you cant find any with public hive servers, its because most of them only use DayZRP. This is in fact true, I haven't ever used a heat pack when just cold, but when dying from being too cold; using the heat pack really helps

Heat packs just set your players temperature back to default. But then it immediately starts to decrease again. I suggest that you use the heat pack at the last minute when it says "I Am Dying of Hypothermia" and then once your cold timer is reset, go start a fire.

Listen, if you have been looking for a matchbox for 3 hours then that means that you do not want to start a fire because of hypothermia. For now, have a different goal! Work on something else or something that you have to get done! While you are doing this, you may come across multiple matchboxes. Starting a topic about not being able to find some is kind of silly, because its not like they were took out of the game! Just Keep Looking. Cheers! ~Mouse

It's Desync. By the time you are reading this then you have already been able to pick up items. If not then just go watch YouTube videos for an hour and play DayZ again. (on a different server)

Most people just now that it is common sense not to go to the NW airfield and Berizino and big places like that on full pop servers. But people are everywhere. Maybe (if you were looking for pvp) you were just unlucky at finding someone to shoot at! Just keep looking, though, different servers, different times, etc. Tomorrow when you play I bet you will find someone to shoot at! Cheers! ~Mouse

Hmm.. that's interesting being able to use the same character between regular mode and hardcore mode private servers. I'll have to wait another 10 years before I can play on your servers though, haha, just kidding. I'm occupied as it is. But I wish you guys the best of luck and I hope you get to expand!

Seems pretty interesting. You need to make the pictures and your advertising more "pretty" and you have to advertise it more. Besides that it looks partially promising. But unforgiving.

I play standalone more than the mod, but once snowfall or a snow biome is added into the game, they could add in white spray-paint and you could spray-paint your ghillie suits and guns a white with grey splotches type of color scheme. But I agree with you but if you are serious about this you should start a poll!

I liked it. I hope that one day Standalone will have as much opportunity's for new experiences like in the mod.

I personally am an Xbox Player and I play DayZ on the PC with an Xbox controller with a third party program that I will not announce. It is really fun for me and I play the game just like everyone else, if and when they release it on the Xbox One, I know that some controls will be different, but you have to learn to adapt to things like this!

Take a break and play the day after. You'll be good then. If you ever get frustrated with the game and cant seem to live! Then just take a break.

This is DayZ. PVP is going to be everywhere. The only way to avoid it is to play on servers that you have to be whitelisted to join. If you are into Role-Play I would definitely recommend you to check out http://www.dayzrp.com/. KoSing is not aloud. The only way to get killed is if you are hostile to them first.
