Few useful and useless tips for DayZ! :)

the second one is smart. I might have to use that little trick on some people.. -
So basically, I believe that in the woods there should be way more random small cabins and stuff just lying around. maybe a few well hidden houses, with two greenhouse and a well. Something like this would move curtain groups towards the woods, and there would be more 'forest firefights' and stuff like that. edit: things like rotted, destroyed mansions or industrial factories or buildings in the middle of the woods would be a nice addition, like things took by nature. These places would be home to the crazy cannibalistic murderous maniacs on role play servers and things like that.

That would really add to the immersion, and maybe on role-play servers, these buildings would house the crazy, cannibalistic maniacs, that would hesitate to chop you up.

They are pretty rare. they only spawn in police cars and police cars almost NEVER spawn decent loot. But the other day I found a MP-133 pistol grip and a AK101 from a police car in Svet..

Limiting range of gamma and brightness options for players

They should leave the gamma/brightness alone. There are so many different types of players, and so many different situations and reasons to have high and low gamma. It would waste the devs time, and the consumers time. -
because it is funnyyyyy. And I like to help new members. Sometimes I get to posts before the admins do. It is basically just helping out others. Whats wrong with helping others? this suggestion had nothing to do with my signature.

I just wanted to give out a quick thanks for the people who run and keep order on these forums. There are plenty of places for people to help others, and contribute to the community of DayZ. But I believe that these forums are the easiest, simplest way to keep in touch with one another. I am glad to be contributing to the development of this game. And when I see its million dollar trailers on tv, I will know that I helped with that. Now with that being said, share some recent experiences!

oh.. my god.. I was reading the posts from others just now and discovered that green mountain was haunted. I didn't believe it till I started this post and was going to say how I went there only once.. and my legs broke.. from nothing.. while standing still... Luckily a player came and helped me... Listen. head our warnings. The only people that leave green mountain alive are the crazy ones. You will regret it. Steer clear.

If someone devoted enough time, eventually they will be able to hold 100+ items after more clothing and storages are added in the game. There should be no limit to who carries how much. Just as long as it doesn't involve glitches. so if I want a hunting backpack, a vest, and a belt and leg holster then I should be able to have all of those items. But I would have to obtain them all first.

Bullets don't go through walls, why do zombie attacks?

They don't strike through walls. It's purely Desync. on your screen they might be hitting the other side of the wall and be damaging you, but to everyone else the zed would be in the room. All it is is lag, Desync, bad server, etc. -
The "run as administrator" thing seemed to work for you. If you are up to it, you can completely re-install it. Or find a way to "auto run as administrator". I don't know how to do that from the top of my head, but I know its possible.

Same reason I would use it. same with cigarettes. *takes slug. "yep... this whole apocalypse thing just means you don't gotta pay for booze." *finishes bottle, slams it to ground and pulls another out from bag.

Ballistic helmet + gas mask = not compatible. Why?

Everyone likes to post dumb things. they didn't do it because of clipping. they did it so that the Gorka helmet had traits that the ballistic helmet didn't. Everyone loved the ballistic helmet and hated the Gorka helmet. the devs said "we gotta make the Gorka helmet more popular! hey! I got an idea! lets make the Gorka helmet be the only helmet that you can wear masks with! that'll do the trick!" so sure enough, people choose the Gorka helmet over the ballistic helmet for that one reason; so you can wear masks with them. -
My bandit bag is located between my legs. It's all I need to get stuff from people. ;)

any weird unusual loot found anywhere was probably dropped by another player. Just think. if you got there sooner, that taloon backpack would be a hunters backpack.

For awhile you hear that weird growling and prowling like you are being watched by the undead? pretty unsettling, right? If you play enough, you will learn the sounds and know when a zombie is nearby and/or If you just hear the prowling. There is a curtain sound that zombies make if you get close to them, and they don't see you. This sound is helpful so they can never catch you by surprise another sound is when lets say you are running by gas station, you will hear a sort of gurgling prowl. Like a mixture of a child boomer and a hunter. This sound does not mean a zombie is nearby, but it will always make you think so. If you hear the prowling sound, you may stop and look around but no zombie will be nearby. The other sound means a zombie might be leaning up against a trash can in the alley behind you. unaware of your presence I am just waiting till' they make the sounds sound more 'distant and directional' the farther you get away from it. I'm pretty sure that that is scheduled for Q2 or Q3 for the 2015 roadmap, but I'm not too sure. Anyways, just wanted to get that out there, for those who were confused about it. now.... tell us how your last encounter went down!

Audio is an easy fix compared to most other things the devs are working on. Before the end of 2015, audio will be fixed. And lemme tell you, I've read some things, and its gonna be goooooood! You know how there's been times where you have panicked and your heart was racing? imagine that. Times 20. Yeah.

That is the worst feeling in the world. Hopefully your 'new member' adapts to the appropriate actions, regardless, we all start somewhere and we ALL make mistakes. But if this member fails you guys more, you will have (or should at least) do something about it.
