Best thing you can do as of right now is wait. I have a feeling that console versions of DayZ will be very interesting, (as I am an Xbox One gamer along my PC) but it won't compare to the PC version but it's all about preference!

My best advice for you is to become optimistic and use these wipes to your advantage. If you have a fully kitted character with all sorts of goodies, your super-objective is to keep all of your stuff. But if there was a wipe and you are a simple, bare-bottom bambi then your super-objective is to grow, adapt, change - become the greatest. Life is about striving towards something, not holding on to whatever you've already achieved. When you are wiped, which will happen many, many times, just tell yourself "here we go again" and get out there and have fun!

^this But anyways to stay efficient and last long through thick and thin out there in that cruel, cruel world, you gotta think about what your secondary weapon will compensate for, for your primary weapon. The blaze 95 is a double chambered weapon. "pop pop" and you gotta reload, but what happens when you're in the moment and you gotta bust a cap in someone but your gun is empty? You switch to your secondary of course! For a blaze 95 I'd ensure that my secondary had a fast fire rate and a decently sized magazine (or storage capacity) if it were something such as an sks.. but obviously an sks cannot be a secondary weapon! But in all honesty others have said it too; it's all about who you are and what your preference is. Cheers!

^don't accept the heat pack advice given above. Heat packs are actually a wonderful, quick, and convenient way to get warmer if you are unable to stop and sit next to a fire. But yes, if you happen to spawn on an island, look around in a building or two for some goods before departing off for the water. When you reach land you will be soaked and cold, but it shouldn't be a problem unless it's raining or something like that.

Whatever you have IG right now, you will get killed and you will lose it.

I personally wouldn't take the time to install and use SweetFX. DayZ Standalone tried to immerse you in a gritty, no hope, alone type of environment. If the grass is green and the sky is blue it breaks that immersion ]

So the Mosin Compensator increases accuracy. But since it increases accuracy, what does the accuracy increase compensate for? Reduced ____?

You might've found them here and there in .57 but loot was broken. The loot table is much better now. The PSO-1 Is a badass scope, they are very rare and will take some time to find one unless you're super lucky. But you can find them Residential/Civilian areas, General Military, and ontop of the SVD and VSS Vintorez snipers - which both can only be found at helicopter crash sites. Safe hunting.

I would recommend the actual standalone version as the mod is complicated and is an "old man living out his days" while the standalone version is a toddler, just starting to grow. You can purchase and download the standalone version here.

Go with the akm. In my opinion it's the best of the AK variants and pretty badass. The blaze is a good starter weapon but as soon as you find an ak, Winchester, sks, etc. etc. you'd want to get rid of it. Don't even consider holding on to it.

na man they just formed semi-hordes and headed south-west, eventually grouping together and forming a mega horde of infected, plummeting entire cities, and the survivors with it.. when the climate changes.. *cough cough* (.59) they will return up north.. bringing chaos.. destruction.. and only the toughest shall survive.. Legit tho once they optimize the little f*ckers and re-implement their numbers.. those numbers shall be high, my friend ;)

As of right now 100% of vehicles spawn without the parts. I think here and there finding a vehicle that's partially running would be neat.

There's a trick that allows you to turn any gas canister or black spray-paint can into a green spray-paint can. All you have to do is place the spray-paint/ gas canister in a fireplace and wait. (just kidding but keep your eyes out and you'll find one)

I'm gonna have to say no to wells. But maybe in certain areas around streams, marshy areas you could get a shovel and dig to get some yummy mud water and a couple worms. Or like, you could dig a hole and when it rains the hole is filled with nice yummy rain water. or even better, you could set your canteen/waterbottles up straight and let them fill up when it rains. Fun thoughts.

If I were you I'd just use that "spraypaint method" to take off handguards for now. I hope you, your gun, and your handguards stay safe in their time of need/

I'm with you. I think once guns are like super rare (which they will be one day) then they will be pretty OP and sought after.
