This question may be difficult to answer. so on TeamSpeak I have it set up so when I hold down caps, TS is muted and when I release it, TS is unmuted. Is there a way I can "lock direct comms" (in DayZ) (double tap caps) and have TS muted until I un-lock direct comms? Thanks.

Why not just make military pants be tucked into boots, instead of needing "bootbands"?

1) last year the game has progressed dramatically. and this year it is already starting to do so. the major improvements like the new engine, AI, polishing and such is supposed to take place around the second half of this year. 2) The devs have been working tirelessly to make this game the best it can be. you cant really see it though because they are past the "stressing out" stage in the development. 3) I haven't encountered any game-changing bugs in the past three weeks. You WILL be able to play the game and have an amazing experience, without the fear of bugs. and if something does bug out, it will not be devastating. TRUST me. at this point, bugs are not supposed to be your main worry/concern. society and the players are. 4) I purchased this game, then got a gaming computer and I have had some of the best experiences that games have EVER had to offer from DayZ. after you get the hang of how it works, and you know what to do. You will get into situations that you never dreamed possible. So to some it all up, the game is in alpha and is constantly being altered and improved. sometimes you will hit speed bumps but these bumps do not at all diminish your motivation and 'lust' to play the game. It is at the stage in its development that you can think of it as a game, and not just a 'testing and dying sandbox' which it left a long time ago. It is a game. and gosh dangit it is one of the best out there.

I recommend spawning, running somewhere. and gearing up. then heading inland. it's that easy. you survive. don't think. ;)

I did that for a two men once. I killed three zombies and while I was bandaging one put a bolt in my skull. I hunted him down as a fresh spawn. Knocked him out, took his gun, shot him in the face, took his cleaver, cut him up and fed it to his friend.

I have a moderately high-pitch voice. (or used to anyways) and players always (or used to) think of me as the 'typical squeaker'. I remember once I had an AUG and Smersh Vest and such, and I came across this little 13 year old kid who had a MP-133 shotgun pistol grip, and thought it would be a good idea to try to rob me. I was drinking from a fountain and he snuck up on me and said "hands up dumbass" I said "woah woah woah, ok ok." and while I was standing up, he said "respect my authori---..." I pulled out my python and put 3 bullets in his head before he could finish his sentence. But anyways let me get back on topic. You don't trust anyone in DayZ. If someone ends up screwing you over, you have the worst feeling in the world. My motto is: "Everyone in DayZ is hostile. No matter what. But that doesn't mean you still can't have a friendly conversation with them." If I find a player who is kind or good at acting kind, ill drop them some food and tell them to skidattle. But if they don't, I don't hesitate to shoot them. Back on the beach for you!

If you are on a persistent server, you won't necessarily have to worry about that.

M4 is like a pair of shoes. The materiel and features is ok. But its expensive because of brand. You can find them from helicopter crashes. Keep in mind that you also have to have ammunition and mags. Attachments help to. But I recommend just holding up a player that already has one. But don't fail. Trust Me.. don't fail..

So I am curious on whether or not, (after optimization and such Is improved) if they are going to update the woods. Right now they almost look like this: when, there NEEDS to be areas that look like this: If they add woods like these, then they will have more 'potential' I guess you could say, of adding in secrets scattered across Chernarus. But I'm curious as to whether or not they are already thinking about this.

As of now, there is almost no way at all, to play on other maps besides Chernarus+ on DayZ Standalone. So to answer your question, it isn't possible to download and play the user created maps. (unless you are super-duper mega modder, but I don't think that you are able to mod standalone as of right now) So nope, only Chernarus+. Now go get killed in electro! ;)

If you have ever played on a console, I can personally show you how to use one to play DayZ. with ALL controls.

you have to re-add your custom thumbnail on youtube, as (on my screen anyways) I cannot see the thumbnail. This has happened to me before, just wanted to let you know. (and the -snip- was because I said this, and it looked like the picture was back, so I -snipped- my comment which is like removing it.)

I definitely agree. Leather takes time to acquire, and since people can get it whenever they want, they think "Ill do it later". But this would pull players to leather clothing, and you will see players away from cities and towns more. It's only a matter of time before people are in the woods for 90% of the time.

So you know how when your tummy grumbles you eat food? most of the time out of a can? Well you know how they are adding in crushed Rasputin Kvass cans? Well I was thinking, whenever you get a Rasputin Kvass and drink it, couldn't you obtain the crushed can? Then I thought of something else, something REVOLUTIONAREH!! Whenever you eat any sort of food that had come from a can, it should let you keep the can! For example, you eat some canned spaghetti. good stuff.. when you are done with it, it throws the empty can on the floor! And if you want to cover your tracks, you could pick up the can. This is more realistic, kind of cool, and can make tracking other players that much more possible. Not easy, but possible. Opinions??

You seem new to the game. I will try my very best, to teach you how to refrain from getting cold. When you first spawn, you have a simple shirt and jeans. You want to run to the nearest towns, and look for and wear wool coats, raincoats, hoodies, sweaters, jackets. Anything that looks like it will keep you warm. Next you want to find matches. You can find them in almost any building in the big cities such as Electro and Cherno and Berizino that are along the coast. (make sure it is a low-op server so it is unlooted) After you have warm clothes and matches, you need preferably an axe. Then if (even with your warm clothing) you get cold, you make rags from shirts and clothing items, go up to a tree with your axe out and cut it down. You should get logs in any extra 2x2 space in your inventory. Then you want to drag the axe to the logs and make sticks. Then combine sticks with rags to make a fireplace kit, then you want to add logs to the already made fireplace kit, and light her up! That will get you warm! (make sure to do it inside, if its raining) Here's a video:

You should be able to put grass on all of your clothing, and spray paint all of your clothing! I don't know, think of something from this rushed, poor old suggestion.

It is not a shit game mechanic. It is a mechanic to separate those who know how to survive, from those who don't. I think it did its job.

This is a fan-made item if I am not mistaken. But if this was added and with the ability to spraypaint it, DayZ would be THAT much more.. DayZ

All attachments you had before the update, are gone. The devs had said something about attempting to get them back but I don't think that is going to happen.

ooo. I play on a RP server. That PM73 would fetch a good price..

hmm.. It is just the server. If I were you I would contact fragnet and see what they can do about it. They will (or might) be able to tell you if it is a problem on your side, or theirs.
