Yeah, they pulled the EXP servers back down, so I suspect that they realized their faux pas.

WTF!?!?!? All of the Exp servers are popping up as password protected.

Sometimes I wonder just that. ;) Throw it onto the campfire. If it's plastic, it'll melt and if it's wood, it'll burn! If neither of those work, submit a bug report.

My client is now inbound. Hopefully they've sorted the crashes due to the -newui parameter, so that we can get on with testing.

^ This I'm afraid to drop essentials at any time. If necessary, I'll only do it out of doors. If my clothes are wet I'd rather replace them (or run for a while), then risk their disappearance.

Fresh activity in the Steam DB. Possible new build inbound. EDIT: Even more activity - it looks like they are working hard to find something suitable to push out to Steam.

Same here. I can see activity in the bug tracker, so hopefully they'll have it sorted out soon. I'd like to have another crack at the new inventory screen, because I just don't have a warm and fuzzy with it yet and besides, who couldn't use another 10FPS, eh?

You can have a stable 1st/3rd public character, a stable 1st public character, an experimental 1st/3rd public character, an experimental 1st public character, and another character for each private server that you visit.

One day we might actually have 3-D positional audio, but for the time being, I don't think that the apparent source of the thunder is meaningful.

Thunder and lightning both used to be in. I didn't see/hear either last night, despite frequent ran.

I removed all of the wheels on one side. The physics seem pretty neat now on vehicles. V3S wheels currently despawn very quickly (within 5 seconds) after dropping them, so make sure if you want them to stick around, keep them off the ground (not that it matters at this point with no batteries). Gonna do some more persistence and item despawning tests this weekend. I'll keep you guys posted. It's VERY disappointing that a spare can not be carried. I hope that this is merely a temporary oversight. So, you can just whip out your lug wrench and remove a wheel? No need for a jack, or other support?

That's the one! I don't wish anything bad on ya, but I'm glad it's not just me. It's chronic, so it shouldn't be too difficult for the devs to track down.

Agreed. The new inventory is a bit clunky, but I do believe that it has the potential to eventually be a good addition. My initial impression was that it wasn't intuitive and that it was going to cause me to get killed. It's functionality is definitely different than the old inventory and I suppose that we'll just have to get used to it. I'm OK with the character stopping when accessing the inventory, but it would be nice to have some accompanying animations of the character dropping the backpack on the ground and then kneeling in front of it. This animation could also be continued over on the inventory screen, itself (idle animation). The downside is that this functionality will significantly nerf looting in the dark. A flashlight will become a necessity. I'll be mapping the flashlight on/off toggle to a mouse button, since using the scroll menu will be too tedious for frequent use. Using a chemlight, or a road flare is just too dangerous, as it can be seen seen from too far away. The inventory is fiddly to manipulate because it is small and your mousing has to be precise. I kept closing things, instead of opening them, for example. Personally, I'd like to have the ability to configure the default inventory view. Perhaps we could have some radio buttons for: all containers (clothing) open, all containers closed, or all containers revert to last view? A long run gets boring after a while, so being able to hit "P" periodically for a distraction would be nice, without causing the character to stop in his/her tracks. Hopefully the current functionality will change. The current, unassisted "eyeball zoom" is WAAAY over the top. It almost makes it unnecessary to carry binoculars.

I was on for a couple of hours and only heard a ghost sound twice! :) Haven't seen a zed yet, but I haven't been wandering through their habitat, either. Need to get some better weapons, first.

I was thinking that it was much more overcast and foggy than I remembered. I can't remember the last time that I saw rain, so I've been wondering if it's only my imagination.

I can't find the post. I can't remember if the V3S is spawning without a battery, or if the battery isn't in the game (or both).

Repeatedly getting Virtual Machine Exception faults and memory faults, every time I try to interact with a compass. :| :( :( EDIT: It's only happening when I'm using the -newui startup parameter.
