    Nope ... haven't seen one at a mil base. Saw two helicopters last night (both smokers) and no M65s there, either.

    Yes, similar to to the need to walk away from a rabbit snare, I believe that Eugen had mentioned that this is part of the design criteria. I'm not sure of the distance, either, but up until a couple of weeks ago, some players were reporting that loot was flying through the air and spawning before their eyes. I haven't seen any such reports lately, so hopefully, this feature is also now working correctly.

    I suspect that we'll see at least one more Exp build, before 0.58 is pushed to stable.

    Yes, it would take a mechanized platoon to haul everything away from some of these camp sites.

    Well, I am trying to keep in mind that it has only been a week since the spawn and cleanup mechanisms have been working, now that the loot 'splosions seem to be under control. I expect that the devs will next begin to tune the system and augment it with regional control. Hopefully the remaining quirks can either be tuned out, or they will be able to ELI5 the logic of why things are the way that they are ... especially as regarding what seems to be overly aggressive and unexpected de-spawns, as well as large swaths of the map with virtually no loot. Right now, the logic escapes me, so I can only conclude that this is still very much a work in progress.

    It looks like persistence is either random and inconsistent, or I just haven't recognized the pattern yet. I stashed a barrel and a backpack (each containing loot) on Thursday evening and everything was still there today. Dudester stashed some water bottles in a tent on Sunday morning and by Sunday evening, they were gone. Neither of these stashes were near a spawn point.

    They should respawn at a random, designated spawn location. I'm not a dedicated truck whisperer, but there doesn't currently seem to be a lot of variety/rotation in their spawn points. My personal theory is that we are not seeing spawn randomization, because it will depend on the regional control feature of the CLE functioning correctly, as a prerequisite. It does not appear to me that we have regional control yet.

    I have to agree; we've seen some pretty significant improvements, in only a few short weeks.

    Eventually, trucks are envisioned to respawn only when they are damaged beyond repair. I say eventually, because I do not believe that their configuration has been finalized.

    Stable servers usually only get wiped when there is a version change, typically every 4-6 weeks, or so. Experimental servers may be wiped every few days, or even daily, depending on what the devs are working on.

    It sounds funny to say it out loud, but sometimes we get so invested in a project, that when it suffers ups and downs, it can become an emotional roller coaster for us. Those feelings will naturally ebb and flow, but all of us share them.

    I recently had a situation where an obviously drunken person had hopped onto our t/s channel and begin to recount his exploits from earlier in the evening. All of us thought that the others knew this person, so we were cordial. It was only afterwards, when we were talking and we realized that none of us knew him. Since those comments were out of character and only semi-coherent, I had assumed that they were "powered by Jack" (Daniels). It's never funny, when you have to explain it, eh?

    When an experimental build is pushed to stable, the experimental servers are usually shut down for a week, to two weeks. Afterwards, a new experimental build will become available, with a significant version increase (i.e. 0.58.xxxxxx will increase to 0.59.xxxxxx). And yes, everything gets wiped, characters, loot, persistence, everything.

    I just had a similar experience with a 1911. I decided to have a snack and forgot that I had my pistol in my hand. After I finished eating, my pistol was nowhere to be found. I have since found several P1s, but I can't seem to find another 1911. >:(

    I haven't been on today, so I can't say. But, frequent wipes are common on the Experimental branch. This is doubly so lately, because the devs have been working hard on both the CLE and persistence. If you are the type that tends to get attached to your gear, then experimental may not be your cup of tea.
