I wouldn't be sure about that PhysX part. Brian posted couple clips of vehicle driving and it looked that the car acted more like a car than any Arma 3 one. You can actually do donuts/drift :D There's also some problem with clutch/transmission with PhysX and I guess we won't see that because there are also manual gears coming. PhysX looks nice but it doesn't always act right. They might get better physics in their engine by making their own. 3rd party stuff usually cause a lot of problems. -

It would be wonder if they won't use Enfusion for other games. Not sure about Arma but at least many popular Arma RPG mods would likely fit this engine well. -

It was possible in Arma 2 at least. Run and vault from the "bridge" to there and pray that the vault actually registers and you don't just fall because the character didn't jump :D -
In the first video is that Ambient Occulsion from the engine or from Nvidia? If it's in the engine I can understand but if it's Nvidia turn it off :D Great to hear about the user actions and controls. Can't wait for those. Takes little time to get used to the use button but it sounds freaking great!

Porting anything won't likely be too much of a work unless things will change more. Making the map functioning in DayZ like zombie spawns, AI, loot and all that is likely another thing.

Not playing because of low population, waiting and playing mostly on experimental becausse it's still in alpha, playing 3PP because some friends are on 3PP server, bored to even look for one and just clicking on the first populated server on the list and so on. Last time I even opened DayZ was over a month ago.

Right click shouldn't zoom. Holding right mouse button zooms. Can you even bring up gun sights? Because binocs work exactly the same way./Hmm maybe numpad 0 could help you? That was the other button to bring sights in Arma 2 if the view only zoomed and not changed to the optic view, numpad 0 helped. -
I'll end this thread: 3rd person view: - Optional easy mode since the first Arma Btw if anyone here suddenly starts to suggest "fixing" 3PP with a solution like fourth wall, then check out Warthunder. The first person view is also ruined because it doesn't work in all the situations. It has the same effect as the current watching up limit in DayZ. It tried to "fix" 3PP but it only broke 1PP.

Have you played Arma 3? Or ACE2 mod in Arma 2? Binocs work just like in those. Though people have already explained here how those work. -
Think about the zombies and animals. They don't have 3PP. You can abuse the view against the AI, which kills some of the experience. People mostly argue 3PP is PvP issue but it isn't only that. It's also issue in PvE. Also if all the public servers would be forced to use 1PP, then it would be possible only removing it from the vanilla game. This topic is about official servers, not about all public servers. The devs have said it now so many times that 3PP option is kept in the game so no worries. But I still hope they would have balls remove it and bring down the experience on the same level for everyone. It's just not my call to do it.

Well because there's nothing to loose, why not try if there's some gain? Or maybe they will get somehow different data from 1PP servers than from 3PP.

There are still something like 2000 servers with 3PP if they make this move so there's nothing to loose really.

Well why not. At least that shows it's the way how they want to player to experience DayZ. How many official servers there even are?

Artists do what they like to do so I can understand that they made the RPG, even though it doesn't fit too well with the gameplay. The RPG is like M107 in the mod except it's even more cumbersome and less "bullets" so there are very few cases where you can use it. Keeping it with you already takes so much effort that it could be better not to have it. But it's cool and badass and the moment you hear and see someone firing RPG, it's serious then. I've hard time to think any PvE event where RPG would be usable. Anti-personnel round could kill maybe 5-10 packed zombies. It's kind of a satchel or grenade you can just shoot.

Where do you even need all of the different vehicles? Truck, bus, car, bike, chopper, plane, and boat. One of each would be more than enough for this game because DayZ isn't about vehicles. If the vehicles are customizable then it's even better.

Test Left Ctrl+Mouse movement. That way you can move your head position inside vehicles in Arma. Maybe it's also still in Enfusion. That could help until the problem is solved.

How strong the AI is depends only how strong you let the player to be. Let the AI be faster and able to catch the player. Let the AI knock out players if they hit a moving player. Make the player so slow and AI so fast that player can't circle around. Make the player strafe just like the AI gets strafed if hit. Don't let the AI lose LoS easily.Early days DayZ mod zombies that you can't loose running through buildings and uphill or glitching in the pine tree. They will catch and beat you to death even if you've only your starting gear on you. I want to hear answer that is something like that. Player is the big threat in DayZ because it can use guns, we know that.

Food and water consumption needs to be the lowest when you walk so walking 1km consumes less than jogging and sprinting. Currently jogging is the most effective. Walking is also bad currently because you get cold. Having a lot of of stuff with you will make you warm and sweat even if you "only walk" this is also one reasen why jogging and sprinting is currently prefered. You can currently outrun zombies easily. This needs to be changed. Having a lot of stuff with you should only let you sprint couple seconds IF you have full stamina, before reduced to jogging and that way you are tired very quickly. Zombies shouldn't have stamina. Punishing stamina system also let's you change back aimimg down the sights and crouching default speeds. It's not good that you're forced to hold shift if you want to move any faster than walking speed. Walking speed could have one additional only a bit faster mode or make the current very calm bit faster. Not much faster. Slower speed makes the game world much bigger and walking should be the prefered mode unless you're fighting for your life. I could imagine dropping your backpack only so you can save yourself from a tough situation or leaving it at the edge of a town so you can fight better against zombies inside.

Unrealistic player movement speed. It doesn't only just feel bad that you will even jog everywhere but it makes 200km square feel like a 10km square. Walking ~15km in three sessions in the winter experimental was one of the best experience in DayZ I've had so far. Too bad is that jogging would've been better because it consumes less food and water and also keeps you more warm. Blood loss causes desaturation. That kills the immersion and beauty of the game instantly for me. Blood loss should make you dizzy and tired. So I'd say movement speed and character health and that kind of info given in the wrng way. I don't prefer HUD but I rather take HUD that shows numbers than screen effects that feel wrong. -
Q: Could we turn off all kinds of PP effects separately but still "enjoy" effects that implicate some status like health? Also make the blood shown as some other effect than desaturation, that's horrible :D

I've seen one early access game doing just what DayZ is doing: replace renderer and going from DX9 to DX11 (and also made 64-bit version). I really advise people be patient and expect that things can look off because that's what happened with WreckFest. It can actually look like a downgrade at first especially if the lighting conditions change a lot. It takes bit time to hmget in the old level and then go beyond that.
