This could be achieved with LAN and I don't know any MP games without LAN option. But prepare to a (short) lonely journey with tons of zombies :P

It is still RV engine so why wouldn't ballistics be the same? It could take even more time to make different shitty ballistics rather than import Arma's :D

Does this truly become 'Steam only' at first? If so then I need to wait for a longer than I thought. I like to launch games through steam because I like the overlay but I don't like the idea that games are under one account and not local. I'm a bit skeptic about the future of Steam because anything can happen in big business. Games Like Arma, DayZ, Company of Heroes and any driving simulator are games that I really like to 'own'. I don't like the idea of 3rd party softwares because I really don't own those games then.

But I watched your rpt file and didn't saw much bad in it when I compared it to mine. It just seems to stop without a reason. Sometimes you get almost through and sometimes not. But first time you got this: You maybe fixed and tried againThen second time nothing weird. Third time this: Dunno what this is :PBut then fourth time nothing again Fifth time it crashes instantly on this: Did your game crashed once? Maybe something to do with drivers or just bugged dunno. Try to download latest drivers? And everytime after that it just stops on some spot like in 2nd and 4th times and once your character maybe even spawned. So I don't see good reasons in your rpt file to your kicks. Maybe battleye problem? It is weird that you couldn't get DayZ work with commander and other launchers. Maybe you should try to download latest beta just in case. Sorry I can't help much anymore. I hope someone else can. -
Source would be welcome. Q1 2013 has been the community alpha release date for long for Arma 3 and it can get even further.

Then buy/start play the game when it reaches v1.0 if you can't tolerate those things.

It's a tool to give some freedom to players and might be handy in some situations. I'm not against removing 3rd person from Arma series but I'm against 3rd person in PVP and DayZ.

Well I think this is not necessary because there will be servers in the standalone which are meant to the players that like to play for the immersion and fun just like Arma has.

I would start playing again. I haven't touched DayZ for over a month because I can't find any good expert servers anymore. 3rd person and seeing distances just scrolling are immersion killers for me. I'd like chat to be enabled though. I hope that DayZ would be Arma's expert only because that's how the game is meant to be played. -
Why people are complaining about narrow view 1st person when it can be adjusted just like you want it in .cgf file? And I'm against 3rd person.

Little question about this "combat log" system. If server is getting restarted and I'm in combat do I combat log then?

Long thread about CryEngine and ArmA 3 in BI forums. Just if you guys want to read it. And no beans to OP. It has been said many times and I say it again. It would take a lot of time and money to make DayZ on CE.

Which games did you abandon for DayZ?

I abandoned over 2 years ago when I got PC which can run good games almost every XboX 360 game I have except Forza Motorsport. Only games what I have actively played on PC other than Arma series are Total Wars, WH40K DoW 2, Company of Heroes (Blitzkrieg mod <3), Skyrim and Wolfenstein ET. Only other game that I own on PC is CSS and I got bored on it after couple weeks. But I haven't abandoned any games because of DayZ. Already abandoned some time ago. -

You got it OP! What about removing loot tents from DayZ and give every player in the server just one tent per live at the beginning. It will take some slots from you so you either pitch it early or try to survive with it longer. The catch in here is that it can't take much loot in it other than those tents in mod. I was thinking about 11 slots with ArmA 2 inventory system so just 1 main weapon and one other stuff can fit there etc. Also the tent will be removed instantly or after just after couple minutes when you die, so you can't run there and gear up yourself again. I'm also hoping that we can't get fully geared in the standalone under 1h without very good help but it will take more time to get geared. -

I'm saying no to this one. I don't think we need this kind of realism. I hope that rocket doesn't implement any diseases in the game except basic flu which you will get if you don't warm yourself enough, just like it is now. EDIT: Ok this isn't bad idea. -

Are you sure that you downloaded the latest Namalsk? That ns modules hints on that way. And I see that you miss DayZ: Namalsk v0.55 - data file pbo (4.2MB, *.7z) which is that ns_dayz Install that Namalsk Crisis, if it isn't the latest, normally and you already have DayZ and beta patch installed so you only need to either make a new mod folder for that small file on the second link which I named @DayZ Namalsk or, maybe easier to you, drag them to your @NC/addons folder. I made own folder for it because I don't play just DayZ in Namalsk -
You sir have my :beans: You nailed it with your post. This is the way I like it, not too complicated but enough 'realistic'. I've never thought adding that kind of endurance which will even encourage to stay alive longer. Not overdoing it and it will be fine system.
