  1. You pretty much said why I like this development style.
  2. Feels like I'm really the only one that likes that inventory. Everything is so clear and simple that you don't have to think too much. Inventory skins can be added later if/when we demand maybe with a help of the community. I would like that it wouldn't be that transparent and the font... Main thing is how it functions in alpha and when it's the final version then they can add better skins because there's no sense to add skins if those get deleted couple of times. I think we need some community voting about this where we can vote for some different (perhaps community made) skins if it's really that big issue.
  3. I hope they can port some Arma 3 night lighting or improve it because Arma 2's night time is ugly. In Arma 3 it's natural and colorful but in Arma 2 it's black and white mostly.

    Well if heli gunners can hit you then there's a really good chance that you can hit back because it's hard to shoot from heli if it's moving. I'm not really asking for remove of the .50's. Just remove AS50 and bring up the vanilla M107 that doesn't give you a backpack.

    In zombie apocalypse I don't expect every people to kill me /just for fun when there's thousands of zombies also trying to kill me and all the others.

    If I walk in the street surrounded by zombies I wouldn't expect some 12yo kid to just have some fun with super cool .50 caliber and shoot me kilometer away from the forest just for fun. There needs to be some nerf and downsides when you're shooting and keeping very heavy, big and loud gun. I liked that .50 calibers and some machine guns disabled your backpack slot so you really needed to consider twice if you want to take that gun because then you have only a pistol as a backup and only couple slots remaining in your inventory for ammo, food and drink. /I never understand why AS50 was added in DayZ because M107 was enough and it took the backpack slot but even that doesn't take anymore because AS50 doesn't either. Really stupid balance move if I can say.

  9. Have fun running Real Virtuality engine with that big and detailed map(s) with stable 60fps so practically no. In theory if you can find a computer that does that then there's possibility...

  11. I was implicating that you can do that in your game options also so it's not cheating. Just keep them in the same level in all pictures to get a real picture. Gamma and brightness does some difference.
  12. Do you people think that those pictures look dull and dark? Here's a solution: adjust your gamma and brightness in your graphics card settings or adjust them in some photo edit program and feel the big difference. I can post the difference later if I don't need to use any picture editing program other than paint :P
  13. The grass and the roads are different comparing to the old Chernarus (and of course the lighting but that's old stuff already). I don't know has anyone said there's a real graphical progress which there in reality isn't comparing to devblogs.
  14. I believe that is how it's gonna work. In the PAX devblog you saw that an AK took up more blocks than, say, a pistol mag. Something really cool would be like a diablo-style inventory where items actually have shape within the inventory, so you can slot things in wherever they fit, as opposed to an item just taking up a predefined number of slots. Agree but you have to remember that there are jeans that can't take as much as some trousers. It depends how far you want to go in this simulation.
  15. This because it would help us kill some time before E3, if they can release it before E3 of course. /Oh forgot to thanks for the screens :D Inventory is looking good and I like that grass.

    The DayZ dev team is providing good amount of info. They are maybe even more open than in Arma series and that's enough for me. One big thing that rocket is doing is answering a shitload of questions almost everyday. Bohemia games are the only ones that I really follow. Others just come and I maybe watch some trailers. Bohemia is also working on Arma 3 (another huge game) at the same time so it has to have some impact on communication and development. //Lol one of the rocket's tweet :D Ok it's not that related what have been discussed couple last posts.

  20. You can all blame the rocket if you feel the standalone is too expensive at first. He said he wants higher price but Bohemia lead wants cheaper price and more players :D I guess it's something like $20-20€-£15 which is bit cheaper than Arma 3.
  21. Quartermaine are you now talking about the open alpha or v1.0 release? /Oh nvm you talked about alpha up there... If v1.0 well December '13 is plausible but I wouldn't wonder if goes even further haha. If alpha then can't really see that "streams are coming very soon" to mean another half a year.
  22. I agree that Arma series is the flagship for Bohemia. How much resources BIS puts in DayZ is hard to tell yet because DayZ will be ongoing project like Arma games so only time will tell but I think it will not be more than in Arma for a while.

    Not sure what you mean but have you tested -noPause command line parameter?
