I want to wear tight blue jeans and a leatherjacket. Then I try to find an acoustic guitar and play it in the wilderness sitting in front of a fireplace. -
We'll be screaming in every stream to visit in Bohemia's booth just like last year. Last time more people liked to see Arma 3 but this time people are demanding both vry much :D

I don't have any friends who have lost faith in DayZ. Everyone including me just play other games for the time until standalone comes. Btw this might speak for itself how interested people really are about standalone https://www.facebook...30961263608265/ -

I think crackers have made own server where they can play alone if you meant how those guys can play the game when they aren't connected to the main hive. Hosting will be something like in the mod where you can set a server and then you'll ask for hive connection or something similar. So yes the game isn't that server dependent at least in this stage. Might be a good to get better/detailed answer from rocket. -
Imagine SA using the ArmA III engine
St. Jimmy replied to DayzForumer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Heli controls doesn't IMO differ from Arma 2. Arma 2's light helicopter's are as easy to pilot and fast responsive. Nohing still doesn't force you to use new stances. You can lean with Q&A, you don't need to use ctrl+q,w,e,a,s,d just normal q,e,z,x is enough to adjust your stances in Arma 2 and now there's even one less button c (very clever decision) that is used for combat jog or jog. One of the biggest thing is you can now move bit faster when aiming and you don't need to wlk slowly like in Arma 2. Of course you cant hit that well in combat pace but I think it's pretty realistic accuracy. In Arma 3 you can shoot say faster if you're running because just one click on right mouse button brings sights and you don't walk awkard slowly. If I understood you like it in Arma 3 way than and I hope it'll be pretty much the same in standalone. If you're complaining about that you might need to hold a button to raise a weapon I can understand that because I don't like it either how it sounds. In leaked videos the movement seems to be pretty much what we have in Arma 2. I hope it changes more to thd Arma 3 way. -

All the footage must be recent. Some people dowloaded the old version and posted some screenshots in imageboards just last week. -
Imagine SA using the ArmA III engine
St. Jimmy replied to DayzForumer's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Very hard to understand how on earth Arma 3 movement is so bad that people rather play Arma 2. This is the first time I can move inside buildings without running against the wall all the time. The movement and stance adjustments are so much better now and not just 1/0 binary adjustments what makes Arma 2 so clunky. Of course nothing does prevent you not to use those new features and play like in Arma 2. Only negative about the new movement is that crouched run is bit too fast and fatigue hasn't been tweaked enough but I see that those will change. And thank god the negative mouse acceleration is off by default. -

Wow you're really hating Arma 3. Arma 3 lighting and fluid movement are already so big improvements that I don't want to touch Arma 2. I can't see what makes Arma 3 a console game unless you don't like the movement speeds but those will be tweaked. Also sound engine is much better so there will be much better sounds. -

Rocket said something about that you need line of sight to see them in the gear menu. I wouldn't mind if you can't see what is on the ground in the menu screen so you have to organize your gear rpg style. -

Yep Bohemia supported Arma 2 very much to the release of Arma 3 Alpha. Anyone remember when Bohemia fixed warping in multiplayer? That happened in 1.55 if I remember correct and without that multiplayer was pretty much broken. You really couldn't play DayZ without that patch. -

The central server doesn't have anything to do that the game can't improve much. Do you think that you have too high expectations on standalone and has any game ever satisfied you? This. I want to laugh for those rage posts people complaining that they get killed by the zombies all the time and they can't even get to meet their friends before zombies eat them because they needed to stop to catch breath or otherwise fainth on the ground and when they shoot with AK the whole town is after them. That would be the point when DayZ is heading for the right direction. -

Agreed except the last one is already in Arma. Blood trails and grass is down for some time before disappear/rise up. The DayZ wounding doesn't bleed on the ground that well so you might haven't see it. I remember that I've tracked down a wounded AI couple times in vanilla Arma 2 because it was bleeding. -

Topic in Bohemia forums http://forums.bistud...l=1#post2183129 Transparency with higher quality mid-range textures should do the trick but Bohemia hasn't done anything to this yet :( -
FXAA and AF maxed because they don't take almost any resources, AtoC for trees, AA x2 or higher and PP is ugly so off unless you like blur.

What kind of custom maps would you like to see in SA?

This is one of the biggest issue that Bohemia really need fix in their games. This and better mid-range textures are one of the most wanted features in Arma and it'd nice also in DayZ. But Bohemia hasn't really said that they'll try to fix this which is dissapointing. -

Gummy I'll be screaming with you for a better looking inventory UI when it's really final in beta or full version and I think we won't be the only one :D I wasn't expecting so many pages about this when I woke up. -

There isn't enough functions in that inventory to separate different jeans and hoodies inventory space from backpack space. It serves Arma enough well but not DayZ IMO. Also it lacks cool 3d model :D -

Well Dean has said that they could hire and pay community map maker(s) to make a new map in later state and maybe offer them for free. -

Yep I'm hoping for something like what A.C.E. did. You can take a good amount of stuff but you collapse instantly if you take 10 satchel charges for example. -

I wish that it's both combined in the later state. -
Will you add fatigue system that goes at least as far as A.C.E. so you really need to stop to catch breath or otherwise the game forces you to stop?
