OK I got things to do for another month or so...

Well now it's there :D DayZ will be hardcore zombie apocalypse survival that attracts people who really wants a challenge and DayZ mod(s) are really the easy modes and easy modes always attract the masses so you can be right. Only thing is that the dedicated people including Rocket himself couldn't care less about it.

Got to agree that it was a surprise to me that they'll lower the polygons but I don't mind that much because I'm not a gun freak myself. Let's just hope that the sounds will be good because vanilla sounds aren't IMO that good in Arma 2. Arma 3 is another thing in the sounds but the system is still W.I.P. and you can hear it if you've played for a while. Sounds cool but I'm not sure about the performance of tracking. Btw you can already see where your friend has crawled for maybe a minute and in vanilla Arma 2 bleeding person leaves blood trails for a while but none of those last long. But you're a western guy in Chernarus that is used to wear shoes when running outside and that's what Rocket is simulating. I've understood that those healthy issues are only long term things. He said that even cholera doesn't impact that much instantly but if you're having a long term character then there might come some trouble. Motorbike helmet is only one item of many. In Rezzed he wore ushanka hat that is a warm winter hat. Rocket has said that they want to add some kind of marking system to recognize friends. Radios are cool but nothing forces you to use them if you're camping on a sniper hill. Most of the time I don't care if people know where I'm because I want to meet people but if I feel that I'm in the danger zone then I'll keep radio silence. And not everyone likes to use 3rd party chat because it kills the immersion. I don't like DayZ to have pre-defined classes or roles. I'd like that the inventory system is enough harsh that you can't carry all the medical, mechanic, army etc. stuff but you can of course mix those in some level. In mod you can have really unrealistic amount of stuff with you.

Here you say that you have life and you can go play other games or go dirt biking. Why don't you do that but you're instead complaining that the game isn't out yet? And again DayZ forum shows how stupid some people are in the internet. I'd like to be a moderator and give some banhammer every time I see a post that says "It's been six months! Where's the game!?" "Rocket shouldn't have climbed that mountain!". What the hell do you care about how much more money Rocket could possibly squeeze out of this game? The people who really want to play something like DayZ can wait but CoD kiddies can't.

This is why we can't have fun in DayZ. "You just just respawn" jeez... The game gives you good keys to roleplay but you just turn this to another fancy shooter. I hope that there will be good rp servers in the standalone where life matters.

It's fun and informative if the server is good and doesn't allow voice in it. Mostly talking about technical stuff in it (bugs, performance etc). Where I play you don't spoil where someone is or where you're exactly but it's not hard to say someone to stop or wait if you see him bit further without revealing where you're. I could live without it if we can yell or chat someone 100-200m away.

Side chat is fun and there isn't any other way to communicate over 50m.

In zombie apocalypse would you hunt people that try to save humanity or zombies that try to kill all the humanity? In mod it seems that we just want kill each other until there are only zombies left.

I kill l33t AS50, L85 AWS, NVG guys in the middle of the night with my M14 without NVG or flares. OK it happened once but don't try your luck ;) In the first days it was a huge advance to know how RV engine works so I got my gut feeling about glitches and bugs that I avoid pretty well. Now I'm little above the average or better.

DayZ mod might be ported to Arma 3 when Arma 3 is enough near the initial release so there won't be any patches that brake mods. But that's Q4 earliest. A2 mod is already near to the "real" experience IMO. Also DayZ will be alpha as fuck at first for some time so it might be frustrating for some time. There's DayZ coming and Arma 3 is already in beta stage so it's hard to say really if you should buy.

People are still angry about Rocket 'n' roll :D Had to pick this one because I saw this in vandal's video.

He's talking about the BIStore problems because so many people wanted to buy Arma 3 from there that it crashed big time. But we don't know do they even sell DayZ from their site at the beginning to prevent it happening again.

The forums, Steam and DayZ's/rocket's twitter will go apeshit. I believe there isn't any alert system because you can't pre-order.

@RollingLizard1 Pay to get an advantage = Pay2Win No matter if the game is free in any other way. Pay for stuff what you very likely lose at some point that don't give you advantage doesn't sound good either and that has some WarZ vibrance. You can't buy clothes or any stuff that don't disappear because the game is "permadeath". But I've to admit that you could choose hair style and race because that's what you can do in RPGs but those shouldn't be under payment. @Gummy52 I agree that if this game is going big then Bohemia really needs to consider about hosting some servers. I understand your point and I've been thinking the same earlier. Bohemia needs to be sure that the communication between the server and the main hive is very good but I believe we are testing that in alpha and beta very much so we'll see. One asshole admin can do things tricky if he/she can somehow get around the checking between the server and the main hive because in the worst case scenario he can get all the people banned from the game in his server.

You're right on this one. The full speed causes the zombies going through walls and that's really bad. Jogging speed inside houses should be enough for zombies.

The thing is that the game is permadeath and things like bases feels like permadeath killer to me if you can go in your base again that you build (with your friends) in your last life. The permadeath is gone if you can rely on something like this.

I'm really worried about those bases what Rocket has been talking about. Sounds like a real time waster to me for a game like DayZ or at least it needs hell lot of work to be done right and that time could be spent on better things.

Rocket said it pretty unclear in the Rezzed. I also believed he said it'll be out in a week until I read the sentence in Youtube comments. But some don't seem to understand no matter how many times has been said what the sentence means.

That warping left&right is stupid looking and very annoying. That happens everytime in barn when zombies try to climb the stairs. Very hard to hit in the head or predict when they suddenly warp in front of you. I think Razor said that it'll be fixed in the next patch which is my favorite fix in the next patch if it happens. I didn't see that behavior before the hotfix.

It's June-August and they've already set a window but they don't tell when. That's the only thing we got.

I'd like to hear all kinds of short horror stories. It would be epic to listen those while traveling in the wilderness.
