Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
St. Jimmy replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Tested today the patch for the first time. No difference for me. I probably wouldn't notice a difference if it wasn't in the patch notes. I haven't shot a gun so we will see how that goes when I find one. -
This is the thing I was very exicted about. Now time to get rid of (really tweak the values) the weird bullet spreading B)

For anyone who missed the EGX Rezzed I Summerised The New DayZ Roadmap
St. Jimmy replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
OK had to watch the session again. It's probably more server focused like Dean has said for long time. Seems like there's a chance for better client side support but I still wouldn't wait for that. Before multi-core was only for servers but seems like they maybe want to try better client optimization too if necessary. -

OP needs to add that it was about server optimization. Client might not get any better multi-core support. -
One Thing Needs To Be Addressed [ROADMAP]
St. Jimmy replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
And if character tied in one server is too harsh then they should implement hives that can only take maybe max 3 servers so your character is tied in 3 servers. At least there won't be many servers to choose from then to hop. One big hive that tries to control every server is pretty flawed concept... At least this way there won't be too much empty servers in the hive that you can alone loot. Many smaller hives could open up many more opportunities. What they Rocket said in the Rezzed about the barricaded areas sounds nice. -
(Rocket Stream) Did he say we can jump from public to private?
St. Jimmy replied to pacific_coast's topic in General Discussion
Very likely he didn't mean public-private-public jumping. Clans can host public servers also ;) But I also don't like server hopping. -

The amount of stuff they're planning is unbelievable :O -
I try but I've found only empty ones.

Yeah I think you should forget DayZ. There are Wasteland and other mods that might suit you in Arma series. Maybe later if mods and private hives come in DayZ you should check the game again.

Tight jeans that don't go over the sneakers and I could dress as myself :D

If 70cm dispersion at 23m with a pistol and bit over 1m at 100m with M4 does sound right for someone I can only wonder. That's only the dispersion then you have to take the sway in consideration.

When I notice we aren't on the same servers with my friends. Sometimes joining through the Steam doesn't work right. Screw server hoppers :)

Problem with W button (Walk/Jog/Sprint)
St. Jimmy replied to SilverTrowel's topic in General Discussion
My keys are pretty much like in Arma 3. I sprint when I hold shift+W, W+S or S+W for toggle walk, use only Z and X for stances because third key isn't really needed, CTRL for raise and 2xCTRL for toggle raise weapon, G for gear and some other modifications :D -

DayZ Arma 2 or DayZ Arma 3? What should I buy?
St. Jimmy replied to HeroOfTheHeros's topic in General Discussion
You should think if you want to buy Arma 2 or Arma 3. Arma 2 is great and Arma 3 will be great when all the mods come out. Arma 3 basically can have all the same that Arma 2 has plus more. It's up to people. Arma 3 Zeus is a very fresh game mod that I really recommend to try out. -
If you try to clean your rifle with sand and twist your barrel then maybe yes :D

1 fact 90% of you didn't know before.

Why is DayZ So Inefficient in Processing? -discussion
St. Jimmy posted a topic in General Discussion
http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/217yyp/why_is_dayz_so_inefficient_in_processing/cgaktw0 I'm not a reddit user so I decided to do a topic here about this and client side optimization. So we have heard that the buildings could do some optimization and now we have learned that it's the interior proxies that aren't optimized well. Rocket mentions the buildings aren't the only thing so I wonder what those other client side optimizations could be? Building proxies can bring some fps but there must be something else that brings the fps down in cities because if you port cherna+ in Arma 3 and play alone in the editor the fps is very good in cities compared to DayZ. Or has Arma 3 already some proxy optimization so it won't be hard to do in DayZ? So what could be the other thingsthat bring the fps down in client side? Is it the thousands of items that also aren't optimized? At least in Arma when you put many vehicles and other stuff around you the fps comes down. Or is it the server-client relationship that still isn't well optimized in DayZ, though it should be? I just like to hear some more answers from the devs if possible because I'm pretty sure it isn't the building proxies that is the biggest fps hog unless Arma 3 engine can somehow optimize those and DayZ can't yet. New architecture should allow client to run DayZ like Arma alone in the editor but in towns this is far from the truth so something else isn't right. At least I'd like to get an answer are those proxies differently optimized in DayZ and Arma 3? -
Why is DayZ So Inefficient in Processing? -discussion
St. Jimmy replied to St. Jimmy's topic in General Discussion
Trees, bushes and grass are pretty GPU heavy. I can get 100% GPU usage in forest and that way GPU can bottleneck but that's not that bad because at least everything gets utilized. What GPU you have? I can run very well with my system but with my older 560Ti 1,2GB I saw that GPU could bottleneck sometimes in forest but it was down 30 or 40fps but not so low as yours. -
Original Chernarus is 180km^2. They were talking last year to expand the map by 60km^2 if I remember right. I'm not sure has that been done.

POLL: Change the instant zombie respawns... a bit much?
St. Jimmy replied to Sgt.BigBeasty's topic in General Discussion
Please don't fix this for a week. I can't play until Frida do I want to see what people are moaning about :D Sounds like DayZ is DayZ again like in the old days but bit buggier. -
This is kind of already in because you don't get wet under a tree.
-
Well you wouldn't get much more with Intel either. I also get 20-30fps in cities.
