Does anyone actually use mouse smoothing?
St. Jimmy replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Heavy weapons aren't that presize and they're clunky so that's why. But then the smoothing shouldn't be an option but based on a weapon dexterity. Something like that is coming according to the Dean's latest tweets. -

Yes smoothing should give some delay so when you end your mouse movement the aim still moves a bit. Your movement ends smoothly if you have some of it on but if there isn't any of it your aim stops right when you stop mouse movement. I don't use it myself but it could be welcome addition for heavy weapons if you're standing. -

I remember him saying that the Acceleration button doesn't do anything and people got "trolled" by Dean but never anything about the smoothing. -

Are you sure? I haven't notice any smoothing, only negative mouse accelration but I haven't ever test with some smoothing.Smoothing could be the dexterity that changes depending on the weapon so I wouldn't wonder if it doesn't have any effect. -
If I move my mouse fast I like that the character to moves the distance with a delay if not any other way. Arma 2 and DayZ makes you move even less with the negative mouse acceleration and that's what makes it feel so clunky. 1:1 doesn't necessary mean that you can do ultra fast 1080 no scope if they start to work over the 1:1 input. I think 1:1 is a better base for more realistc movement

Got to double post because this sounds great.

I think the exploring gets quickly very boring because you can run everywhere in no time. Just like fast travelling makes the world very quickly boring in Bethesda games no matter how wonderful they're. Also you got to blame the spawns just like OP said.

Change how the prone, crouch and stand keys work.
St. Jimmy replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
There's no speed difference compared to the default one. I use only Z and X keys for all three stances without problems and I can go straight from prone to stand and stand to prone. -
1st person too zoomed in when aiming?
St. Jimmy replied to [email protected]'s topic in General Discussion
This would solve the problem -
Dean Hall did not cover improvements to the lighting engine
St. Jimmy replied to Pokerguy12's topic in General Discussion
I hope they do something about the lighting. It feels so old and ugly after playing Arma 3. The current night time feels greyed and unatural. Rocket has talked about DX11 also and look what Bohemia did with the lighting in A3.I really hope they'll go for it. -

You can do this in DayZ if you want. I've keys like you said but I'm not home until weekend so I can't say the exact config -
Subsonic and Supersonic Rounds [Torchia Tweet]
St. Jimmy replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Dam that's bad news. They need to redo alot of things before different ammo in same magazines could work. -
Subsonic and Supersonic Rounds [Torchia Tweet]
St. Jimmy replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion
Why different magazine is needed? They build a new system but didn't change that? I'm bit dissapointed if what Torchia said is right. -
Yeah that was one thing that confused me. I was expecting beta to start maybe Q4 this year but now they're "finished" Q1 2015. I bet that there will be many patches after the "finished" status just like in Arma games. This engine could be used on something else than DayZ. I was more scared than happy when I heard that but I still trust that the game will develop even when it's finished.

Yep if the PvP is the point of DayZ then cooking, eating, drinking and other events are just waste of resources.
-
I agree with this. When the primary threat are the players that's when the game has failed because then I could just play wasteland to get the same experience.

Spawns need to be spread everywhere on the map and not just only one or two side of the map. Even inland spawns would be interesting.

You know that in DayZ those clouds follow the wind unlike in the Arma 2? Clouds are volumetric now.

Graphic settings that don't work right: Ambient Occlusion Setting attached to Postprocess Quality Alpha to Coverage (AtoC) settings aren't working right Edge Smoothing problems -
It's pretty easy to estimate the wind speed if you know this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beaufort_scale Texts from the beaufort scale when you check the wind would be a nice authentic way to estimate the wind.

Do you want working helicopters and planes in DayZ?
St. Jimmy replied to RedDogMT's topic in General Discussion
Take On Helicopters expert difficulty and I wonder if we will ever see a chopper in the air :D -
And wind dooesn't need to be constant always. At least Arma 3 has gusts slider so wind can be harder sometimes so you don't hit always on the same spot when you use wind mod. 1000m sniping without a proper knowledge and a good scope that you can adjust easily left, right, up and down will be pure luck with a wind factor especially if there's very strong wind.

I've seen servers to kick people who don't have a name or something stupid like FUCK as their name.

If you want you can tune up the shadow view distance as far as 2000m to kill your performance :D View distance doesn't do anything and I think it's 3000m always no matter if you change it but you can change object distance as low as you want.
