Arma 3 is taking the guaranteed network messages from DayZ. Arma 3 can get some things like that ported but something like action menu overhaul you couldn't port from DayZ. Arma 3 is also taking the TOH flight model. The engines can have some things shared but it's better us to assume that they can't port things at all between Arma RV and DayZ engine. -
This plus that you can't combine N, E and SW parts which is the whole map and they take 3 slots and 3 quickbar slots... Different combinations take huge amount of slots though the inventory slot system also should be changed.Too broken system atm. So they're pretty much useless for now.

"Perma-death". Overly used word or phrase about DayZ. DayZ could become the punishing "perma-death" multiplayer game but it isn't that yet because you can sometimes "cheat" and continue like nothing happened after little time. It's same like you would say that GTA is perma-death because you lose all the guns. You can easily cheat them back in GTA and you can also "cheat" stuff back in DayZ if your friend covers your body for 20mins or nobody looted your body and you run back to your corpse. When that changes I can accept the term perma death in this game. Sorry I'm bit bored about the media spreading that word as DayZ would've done something really revolutionary or how some other games are also introducing "perma-death". Big scale deathmatch is not what that word should mean -
You missed one of the biggest group. The 3PP players. You can't see that well in first person from a helicopter. In 1PP the helicopter isn't too OP against hideouts.

How low is your object detail, view, object and shadow distances? Object detail on low doesn't render players couple hundred meters away.I get 20-35 in towns if I put object detail on normal and that's pretty much a must in this game. -

Is it the same technology as in A3? I love the A3 fog. You can get pretty cool athmosphere with the fog in Chernarus.

Yeah I'm not against one character per server either. That would be 1000 times better than one hive that is connected to every server. Some official servers and strict rule set is needed or the mod will happen. -

This is the thing that kills the DayZ in the end if they don't take this seriously. One big hive didn't work in the mod so there's no way that it will work in standalone. They don't need to bring smaller hives yet because of alpha but when beta hits it should be addressed. Private hives aren't the solution either, it's just a lazy workaround. There needs to be a way to get the standard gaming experience and private hives pretty much destroyed that in the mod because the server list was cluttered with easy modes. Smaller hives greates more potential in many ways to improve perma death, base builds etc. So I pretty much agree with Wayze. -

This. Nothing has been better experience in the mod than barely survive a hard situation where you're hydrating, bit lost, no food anywhere and you've caught a disease. I also liked how Namalsk added those creatures and EMP strikes so there was another depth in survival. If temperature and wet clothes come in it will be another cool level of survival especially when winter hits the Chernarus. -
My hardcore suggestion http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/159913-suggestion-for-a-better-perma-death-feeling/?hl=%2Bperma+%2Bdeath+%2Bfeeling Main point is that you can't join the same server where you've died until you body has pretty much disappeared and the one big hive needs to be divided in smaller hives. You can play the game as much as there are servers/hives but if you die you need to move on different server/hive with your friends and the friends also have another character on the other server. Exactley like private hives worked in the mod but if you die you're not allowed to play in the server for a while like 4h for example. One big main hive is the biggest issue in perma death because with that there never will be even a close perma death feeling except if you can't play a all in any of the main hive servers.This way you can always play unless you've died a huge amount of times and there isn't any hives/servers left where you haven't died recently which is highly unlikely.

Variant 2 is what I choose but I would like longer timer both for despawn and being able to get back in the same server. //I got to add that variant 1 is ok too. There just needs to be a way that you can't run over your corpse and take stuff. -
Yep falling/jumping have been bad in every RV engine game and I agree it should be nerfed bit down.

The shorter the better in general in names. I think DayZ describes very well what the game is about. Day Zero was the thing that came first in mind about the mod but the Z could mean as much the "zombies". Maybe not the best name but far from the dumbest name. I think it's pretty clever name. -
Slow walking while eating doesn't sound bad at all. Interesting to see will it ever happen because the RV engine animation system isn't too fleasible when simple things like moving and gun changing are hard things to implement.

I think global chat isn't needed at the end. Radios do that job already. Just longer range direct chat like shout and shorter like whisper are things I like to see. Shouting would be text only and it has naturally longer range like 250m for example. Text only because nobody likes to hear epic sax guy playing from other side of a town.

Oh my that 25m grouping with M4. Add bayonet and RIS hadguard and the spread is huuuge. If a man can't hit a standing target from 25m then the guy is blind or the gun has some very serious issues.

Doesn't the Steam page say that alpha ends probably in the end of the 2014? At least that time should be known so if you complain why DayZ is still in alpha you're welcome back in 2015 when it's in beta... -

I've opposite experience. Clouds don't affect much but PiP drops 10fps because of CPU bottleneck.

Why they should buy the game if they see that the game isn't enough enjoyable state. I say they are clever because nobody likes to see those rant threads everyday. I haven't recommended the game for any of my friends or anyone who has asked how DayZ is alike. I've heard many times "Oh do you play DayZ? Is it good yet?" and I've always ansewered that the game is very buggy now and you should wait for the end of the year at least before buying. There are a lot of people who still want to buy DayZ but they really shouldn't unless they really know what alpha means.Those who are losing fate I just say you should wait way more. There's a lot of time before v1.0.
