  1. I think they should spawn what deerstands could've like camos, knives, axes, some dropped spare ammo, rope, tape etc. but something like a gun is too much IMO.

    I don't care if people could carry 10 guns even but there should be some negative side in stamina and carrying a backpack. Carrying two guns and a melee weapon and then crawl or move around isn't the most quiet way...

    Old thread but this is the gun that would fit the Czech environment. Both 7.62x39 and 5.56 are plausible.

    Why do you insist on putting in large cities?

    Maybe they're very optimistic about the optimisation they can do later. Better aim for the future and blow everyone away. In Arma 3 alone in the editor the city runs with a smooth 50fps or more. They need to optimise networking/server/AI that doesn't have that big effect for the client so we can run with decent fps. Also the talking about taking renderer out of the simulation sounds just like what's going to solve big fps hogs.
  6. Well that current gas mask is way too big to be weared with anything else without bad looking collisions. Hopefully they make also a smaller one that you can use with hats.

  10. Well I've 99% of the time my weapon lowered because the raise weapon key is very responsive and you don't need to stop in DayZ unlike in Arma. I wouldn't like anything automatic lowering because I can easily do it myself.

    At least the sun doesn't mess with brightness. That was the no. 1 immersion killer for me in A2.

    Likely still not a priority like on the day one... I agree that we need Arma 3 style sun because it's lovely.

    Bow is silent, easy to do and it still has range. You can eliminate one or couple of targets silently unlike with a gun.

  19. Gamehack #140 was about using ramdrive. It has very much to do with the .pbos because you move them in ramdrive to get faster loading. Maybe hackers also modified files in there or something dunno. I think saying #140 had zero to do with .pbo files isn't right.
  20. The more you kill people the more time it takes you respawn would be a nice thing. If you kill 1 or 2 that isn't too bad but when you start to kill multiple people in one life/short time you will be "punished" after you die with a longer cooldown. But maybe let's think that the other way around. If you're a hero so you don't kill much people you're basically rewarded with smaller respawn cooldown. Something needs to be done because if people just kill each other the mankind wouldn't survive. So if you just kill people and you die a longer cooldown for respawn is a good indicator that there wouldn't be many survivors anymore left. Also a cooldown for the server you died is needed so you can't loot your corpse and see your friends for a while but that would be a total different timer. These things should come in later stage closer to the release because we are in a very early alpha still. Death and mindless killing needs to have consequences.
  21. I don't play too much but I haven't seen any hostiles in NEAF. Last time I played half of the server was there and nobody killed each other. I answer Balota because there's just too much stuff in those camps.

    This is a very good idea. I don't know why I haven't think about this. Many other zombie games do this. We should be slowed down for some seconds after a hit.

    Just to clarify: They don't just change the engine to a completely another engine and technology. We are already playing a very early version of the new engine :)

    For people who don't know about DayZ much moving to a new engine and pretty much rip out of everything is what they've been doing for a while so he didn't misspoke. If you read only "DayZ moving to a new engine Enfusion, it's a complete rip out of everything, everything from a scratch" then you can misunderstand because you didn't read the whole thing and you don't think about the whole picture what is happening. They're not changing technology for something like CryEngine for example, they're using home tech and making new on top of old base. They're moving to a new engine and they have been doing that for a while. There's no "misspoke". Period.
