OK thanks. These new icons are not doing their job well then... Water and food icons are very bad choices.

Could someone explain these new UI indicators in the low right corner? I'm bit confused with these new ones. Too bad there isn't any tooltip floating when you bring mouse over those to say in words what they mean. I've no idea what is thirst, what's blood, what's food, and what on earth are those two on the right? For me I read them as like this: Bacteria, Temperature, Shock, Blood, Health, Injury?

Holy hell it's dark in the experimental nights. It really just shouts to abuse control panel settings so you can see at least something. Game requires bit better seeing than in real life because you can't feel in game if you are running against the wall. I can still abuse gamma, brightness and contrast with Nvidia Control Panel to be able to see something in the night. Currently it's really required in the pitch black night.

Yep. After seeing what happened to FO76 I really wonder how they even have balls to "release" the game now. Well in 2 days I'll see if I leave first negative game review in Steam. When you leave beta and early access, the game should've well working core and only minor bugs. DayZ doesn't need any PR disaster but with this early release it has potential to achieve it. Is it Microsoft, some investor or something like that squeezing the trigger? I just don't get it how BIS is calling crystal clear beta products as full released games. Arma 3 was the same and now they do the same with DayZ. Arma 3 missed singleplayer campaign that's one of the core elements of Arma and I feel like DayZ is also missing "campaign" though in this game it just means the gameplay is still lame (and likely still pretty buggy). The game will likely start to shine at the end of 2019 or bit later when the actual out-of-beta stage has been achieved.

OK for the dev team, DayZ moves to 1.0. For us consumers I see it as beta. I don't expect me much playing this until the end of the next year. Going to do some modding and scripting though. Only if I can do or find enough satisfying experience, I'll likely host a server for me and couple of friends. The vanilla public experience isn't good yet...

Addressing the most pressing issues

His link is where it redirects when the bug tracker is (was) under the maintenance ;) -
You can also tune gamma from your screen's (display or TV shouldn't matter) own settings. Other place you can tune it is from graphics control panel. At least with Nvidia it's "Nvidia Control Panel" and there go in Display -> Adjust Display Color Settings.

Here's a guide how to download old versions of games and stuff in Steam using SteamCMD: https://imgur.com/a/gBLJO Links for the SteamDB stuff that this method will need: https://steamdb.info/app/830640/depots/ https://steamdb.info/depot/830641/manifests/ If the tools want to auto-update always, you might need to play with the appmanifest file for Steam to think they're up-to-date. Might need some additional steps like changing it to read-only and back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UdzSNJeZik But I'm not sure do the tools watch what's the current version of DayZ or something since I still don't have those, so can't guarantee this to work...

Nope didn't help :( I even signed out, restart the PC and sign-in back (typing password and Steam Guard code) and I still don't have DayZ Tools and I can't subscribe them. /Made a ticket https://feedback.bistudio.com/T133713

A dedicated game engine that seems not so dedicated...
St. Jimmy replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Agreed with the PvZ. Just bare fist fight them or just outrun them. No real challenge with them. -
Well they aren't there for me. I only see the DayZ Server in the tools and I've it installed.
-
There's no subscribe button on Steam for the tools and the DayZ Tools can't be found from my tools library... I can only leave a review for the tools... So what's going on? You removed the option to install the tools? Am I really only one with this problem? I could probably use SteamCMD to get the tools but that doesn't sound right...

I need help to choose some sound card for me. The MBs is pretty bad and mic gets some static noise sometimes through that so it needs to have a mic plug also. So I've Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro headphones (16 ohms). I use them mostly for gaming so if there's some reason why some card is better for gaming then I likely want that. I've no idea why some can be better for gaming and some better for music so you can at least explain that to me I've no idea would it be better to get an external USB one or internal card in my PC so which one should be better for "price/performance"? So I need to get a soundcard that eliminates mic problems and is good for headphones. I believe there's no need for virtual surround and 7.1/5.1 stuff so if some card comes without those but it's very good then I can happily take that and not pay for those extras that I don't need. I can also put my headphones through an amp so if the card is quiet or doesn't have an amp then that's likely not a problem. /Actually it's better to have an amp in the card. There's little static if I turn up volume in my current old amp. I can afford 100-150€ for the card and very top end cards aren't likely even that expensive when they're used so recommend even those for me. I don't need it now so I can make some used hunting Internal card likely needs to be PCI because there's no room for PCI-E because of fan cables. And I'd like to really buy a nice one because that likely doesn't need to be upgraded for long time.

The 1.0 will be a long beta it seems. Familiar release approach from Bohemia. Arma 3 was kind of released the same way. Well development will go on couple more years at least so we should see many things later.
-
Have to disagree with this. It just requires couple popular mods that can beat get the Life and other popular mode players from Arma 3 to DayZ and DayZ could see 20K player peaks daily just like Arma 3. Also some quick BR mode could bring players back from other games. They've soon milked the Arma 3 dry so it's time to plan DayZ support and DLC plans how to get those players from Arma 3 to DayZ.
-
I remember that DayZ was already announced dead 6 years ago... ;)
-
I'm bit afraid they'll do that. They did it already with Arma 3 (campaign came later etc.)
-
Nothing goes smooth in work (game development) ever ;) Bohemia is independent company, they're the producer, publisher and they collect the money. Well publishers don't likely step in at the beginning of making a new game engine that's suppose to be very complex and working on both PC and consoles. DayZ is a huge prototype for the future Bohemia and their games. At the same time they try to deliver modding friendly complex and beautiful game. I haven't upgraded my CPU because that's how slowly those are developing. I've a feeling that at this rate we will see v1.0 DayZ before I see a reason to do CPU/PC upgrade ;)

In the "View" tab the "Zoom In" unless they've changed it from the vol. 8.

The new controls system for ADS etc. feels good. Just need to change controls to fit the old style like space for raise weapon, right mouse to aim and shift to hold breath. Stamina is an OK start but pretty meh. It isn't really doing anything currently because it's such a short term stamina and even more forgiving than what's in Arma 3. I'd say it would be better to increase the amount of stamina A LOT. Like 100 times or something like that, I don't know. Make it so it only regenerates if you walk or stand still Drain the stamina even when jogging Out of Stamina and you're going to walk or jog very slowly. There was a lot of good in Arma 3's old fatigue like animation slow downs that made you really think how you should move. But then the stamina came in and made it like stamina/fatigue doesn't even exist. This DayZ's system reminds a lot of the Arma 3's stamina and I'm not happy about it. You could just remove it because it doesn't do anything just like in Arma 3.

Played the 0.63 for the first time (offline). You need any default key configuration suggestions? Changed those instantly to what I've been used to since Arma 2 and beginning of Arma 3.

Thinking about buying, but steam reviews
St. Jimmy replied to Oscar_Syx's topic in General Discussion
I recommend waiting if you can. The game is still heavily under development so you're not getting authentic survival experience yet but you can just get the feel of game mechanics and the world itself. Unless you've a friend to play with, I'd say at this rate check back at the end of 2018. Or if you're in to modding, then of course get the game when support for that is released. -
Status Report should be out today.
