    Manual Bolting

    I don't remember anymore was it that way but that's not bad suggestion how it should work. Though manual press to bolt could be acting as a safety also. So press a key would be better in that way.

    And one reason why public one shouldn't be run by ANYONE. They could go that they don't accept anymore public hives and only private hives can be rented and there would likely be enough servers still.
  6. I understand because I'm also bit afraid how much they can optimize. At least the new renderer is coming soon and hopefully that gives at least tiny boost by itself. Seems like they really need to optimize the server and some other things first a lot.

The reason why the 12h timer is firstly introduced for private hives is because naturally public hive couldn't stand it because of all the glitches, bugs, cheaters etc. and the text doesn't say 12h timer is the only thing for the hardcore. They just want to test it in private hives and have feedback from there and see what they'll do about it. Though in the end this is what I'd prefer: Fuck the options and opinions. Make everyone suffer.

    How do you set up your hotbar, and why?

    People have found a way when it works 100% of the time. Open up your inventory and press the number and it switches everytime. You can make it pretty quickly that way.

    What is up with the farming hoe?

    Farming hoe is my #1 melee weapon. Easy to come by, not too hard to hit on a head, kills a zed with minimum of 2 hits so likely it does a lot of damage, can dig worms, make a plant and enough good to open up cans of food. Don't underestimate the hoe!
  13. Game speed - harder to avoid: Currently we can run endlessly way too fast and zombies have hard time to keep with us. I know that this will change at some point and stamina system is coming but I like still to point this out. The slower we're the easier it's for the devs to implement hit detection, zombie AI etc. There should be then less errors that zombie runs over and is suddenly behind you. If you get hit your speed should slow down for some time. Many other zombie games have this implemented so one zombie can be deadly because suddenly you can have a horde around you. This also can force you to try to kill the zombie and not just run away like it's nothing. This makes people to be really engaded in combat. Faster zombie attack animations. These are fast zombies so their attack animations don't need to be too slow because the slower the harder it's to create attack/hit detection/animation system that's immersive for the player. Currently it's hard to tell which part of the animation really even hits the player. I don't mean with faster attacks that zombies hit you like 10 times per second but that the attack just happens quickly. The slower the attack animations are the easier player can just run behind the zombie when it's playing the animation. Bleeding: One of the worst things in DayZ is the blood system that makes your screen desaturate instantly. I hated this a lot in the mod and I still think it's implemented very badly. No desaturation should happen unless you're very low on blood. What's more annoying than watching a black and white movie or badly set up monitor when you know everything could look beautiful, colorful and realistic? What's the point of implementing any better graphic engine when things can look horrible after a hit from a zombie? What's the point of artist team to implement different grass colors when everything will blend because of the desaturation? I know you can currently heal quickly by eating well but it shouldn't be that easy in the future. And please don't use too much blur to indicate anything. Thank god we can turn off some PP effects because nobody wants to look a screen like this... Bleeding ratio from a zombie attack should be lower so you don't get bleeding 50% of the time. Balance this that zombies make more damage if necessary. This way medical system can be improved in to a level of Project Zomboid so we need to patch up different body parts. Head hits: Really lower the ratio where a zombie gets knocked out from a attack. Make a head hit just more damaging. It's very immersion breaking. Make them ragdoll from a head hit so it's more cool looking. Overall: The player vs zombies isn't currently fun at all. You can't engage because it's pretty bad thing even against one zombie but you can still outrun every zombie so nothing forces you to fight them. In my opinion the biggest reasons why nobody wants to fight against the zombies are high bleeding ratio and desaturation effect. Then it's everytime the same, you're running in circles and attacking. The combat should be more engaging face to face fighting and not a circle running 14th century tournament where zombie doesn't have a chance. PvP melee combat is also suffering for the same things but I think people are more engaged than against zombies.
  14. I think there's no harsh solution until the one big public hive is divided in to smaller partitions so you can't just jump in to any server low population server. If they want to keep just one big public hive then solutions are very pretty 'hardcore' like no connections to other public servers in x hours which is very wide thing.

    Dayz Resolution problem!

    Have you tried verify your cache? Right click DayZ on Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Cache. It should check if some of your files are corrupted. What GPU and drivers you've? I also wonder if too hot GPU could do that hmmmm.
  16. Well quick FoV from 60 to 120 isn't a bad thing. But currently you can go to like FoV 5 which should be eliminated. FoV shouldn't change so radically or at all the aimed/zoomed view. Oh and I want at least an option to toggle the dot off. Only thing it does is confure me because I think it's another player/zombie or a star.

    Nagornoe and very NW part of the map are only places without buildings that you can already see that they'll have some day.

    Are you 100% sure about the fps increase? Were you in the same place, watching exactly the same spot, on the same server when you changed the graphic settings? Are you sure you didn't change for example object detail or other graphic settings when you changed renderer resolution? Naturally you should get more GPU usage when you increase the render resolution but more fps sounds bit suspicious without proof. Interesting if it's realy like that. Yeah your rig isn't potato. Can't buy much better than that.

    Only desync I see is the animation bug. Otherwise you both got hit twice and he got more lucky. You can hear that he also shoots you.

    Well yes ramdisk for Arma 3 can be worth it. Should give some boost especially for flying performance.

    Well Arma 3's only problem is AI and scripts. But in a good server with a good mission my minumum fps is around 45-50 and mostly above 50 capped to 60. And that's in towns. In DayZ going in to a town BOOM fps starts to drop a lot. It's either the renderer because in Arma 3 Chernarus+ runs great or it's something else. It would be nice to hear what it's because devs could try that very easily. Playing in an empty (no items, zombies and other players) Chernarus+ in DayZ would answer if it even is renderer problem. Arma 3 is way more optimized than DayZ currently.
