I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!
St. Jimmy replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
It supports but as you can see design almost made it not possible and that's what no auto-run key can also mean. If they give us auto-run key then fine, I'm just against it like 3rd person but the devs somehow see that it brings something in the game which I don't see. It always also comes down to your personal opinion in these things in the end and is it worth to put any resource to implement some things no matter how simple they're. I can understand very well why there isn't auto-run key in some games and some games have. -

St. Jimmy replied to Bohannan (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
It's also as easy to say the opposite. It's a toggle function but is it really needed and does the design allow that? They played with raise weapon at some point also so you would always need to hold a key to have weapon up but it was scratched and there's still option to toggle that like always has been. That's an example of that the team even though to remove some toggle function from a game just because of design. -

No it's not like comparing apples to oranges. Aim assist would also fall in this category: And then we could think does DayZ need auto-jump, auto-punch/hit, auto-drive, automatic gearbox, auto-start-of-a-vehicle, auto-eating/drinking etc. etc. These all are in the same category and are desing decisions and then there's the decision should it be a tap in options or a keyboard shortcut. These all could give smaller barrier for newbies but are all of the things ever needed and does it take something away from the game if they introduce those things? Many things can have toggle/auto option and in the other hand many things shouldn't have toggle option. It's mostly a desing thing and bit of a resource thing. -
What do you think will be the lifeblood of this game?
St. Jimmy replied to gankaskon's topic in General Discussion
Environment and zombies that just makes your life a hell and it's just a battle for survival. Hopefully some mods come out that focus those Overall base building, vehicles and PVP are low on my list. Those things didn't attract me in the mod. I never had a tent camp anywhere, I never used tent to store anything. I only tried bicycle couple of times but it was just boring because you could go everywhere too quickly. Some PvP was fun sometimes but not main lifeblood for me. -

It's a simple desing decision just like should we have aim assist and the answer is simply NO because the game doesn't need those. -
Well then I must have very bad luck. I've found like 10 pieces and sometimes even mutliple pieces from the same spot and every single one of them has been SE :D
-
Did they also remove all the parts of the map pieces except SE part? I haven't found any other parts.
-
Well they're developing DayZ and not SurvivorGameZ style gameplay first so there's really no reason to release this public. DayZ is what they should iron out enough so there's the core game they can focus. But it was cool to see that some kind of a modding is possible in DayZ already if they just open up things a bit. Likely there wasn't much anti-cheating running in that event for obivious reasons.

^ OMG...

Well I had 10 games that got update today so I think it's not any patch
-
Pretty much this. View, object and shadow distances are the only things from the files that can help. Other things can be done from the in game settings. For example sceneComplexity is Object detail setting, 1000000 means Very High and 500000 means Normal. Want high fps now in the cities? Lower your settings so the game looks like a potato, the lower object detail the better but you can't see people from a far then and maybe disable shadows and AA.

Full tracksuit combo and athletic shoes and you can wear anything you like on top of it like vest, backpack, hat etc but no ghillie.

So I was searching for Heli Crashes, and Found one....
St. Jimmy replied to darkrider400's topic in General Discussion
Yeah they're kind of everywhere but at least they're good items. My current character is dressed on those and when it's not a rainy day I've Bomber jacket in my backpack because it's cool. Btw one of the reasons why they're everywhere is the addition of armbands. You can make armbands from raincoats if you've something to cut it. -
FoV needs a restart would be a nice start at least  I don't know how I haven't even thought about that. The gamma could be very minimal tune or just removed from the whole game because: A ) GPU control panel can do that B ) Monitor can also set some settings
-
Yep the problem with the fov is that it's just too modular and it also alternates scope systems so there're two problems with it. Scoped view should be fixed no matter what your fov is. It's both an issue and exploit.

Most of the time none of those KoS guys even say anything. Sometimes I even hope to hear "get rekt" because it's so rare to hear anything.

DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
St. Jimmy replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
I'll download stable tomorrow and make some benchmarks. At least with MSI Afterburner you can choose what fps your recording is, quality%, resolution and some other things. I'm also getting GTX970 this or next week so I'll see can the GPU upgrade to 900 series help minimum fps. -
DayZ minimum/recommended Specs and your rig
St. Jimmy replied to LORDPrometheus's topic in General Discussion
Yep I'd be interested to see someone run in Novo or bigger cities without dropping under 30fps any time with object detail on high and shadows on. There's a certain cap that you can't get over unless shadows are turned off and object detail as low as possible but that also affects how far you can see other players. Running over 30fps constant in cities, a lot of sacrifice is needed even with super high end PC because there's no optimization. -
Get rid of inventory "tetris", its busy work and limiting.
St. Jimmy replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
If tetris is kept then it still needs a lot of tuning to get any realistic capacity for backpacks, jackets, trousers etc. The problem what it's now: - Currently there simply isn't enough slots. The inventory is way too limiting. - Protector cases, ammoboxes, cooking pots etc. takes 4 slots but they provide something like 6 slot capacity. It should be the opposite for a sake of everything. - You can put backpack inside a backpack and the backpack inside a backpack can have inventory full of stuff. This should be changed that you need to wrap clothing item if you want to put it inside your backpack etc. - When there's more space then more shapes can be done so things aren't just simple boxes. - Rotating items might not be a good option because there might not be enough space horizontally so the inventories need to be expanded vertically and that's how they can easily make something big not to fit in small backpack. -
This kind of thing is needed because it's hard to hear a guy that whispers in mic and nobody really wants to scream at the mic in an apartment in the middle of the night so they could be heard from a far.

St. Jimmy replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
1. It doesn't need to be at all about the weight. Weight and volume can be totally different. And there can be certain limitations. You could carry 30 canisters if you can fit them somehow... Or you can carry 30 pencils and it's like nothing. 2. You could but we got stamina system coming. Heavy inventory -> forced to walk or like in Project Zomboid also a chance to break your back at any time. /Oh and protector cases etc would actually then take space so you can actually have less stuff but just protected like in real life. -
Peter Nespesny: "So it's official, vodka is now configured."

Thanks. Now this is ringing in my head (it's the version in the video): -

Those just need some more slots. -

H1Z1 inventory system looks way better than DayZ's. That's how it should be, like in Project Zomboid or Arma 3. Tetris is just a no go. -
Think I found worst person to play Dayz
St. Jimmy replied to cheranuscrusiser's topic in General Discussion
I wonder the same sometimes. Though maybe he didn't like that you didn't answer at all and judged way too quickly. Or he was just trolling.
