    I guess they need to do the mod thing and de/spawn zombies. Something like 2000 is very low because those are spread in the whole map, in the mod it only meant those places where there were any players. 10.000 is closer if you want to feel that the zombies even populate the map.

    GPU / CPU - a myth?

    It's not a myth in the RV engine. I can believe though that in DayZ currently it really doesn't matter much. The thing is actually based only on the Shadow Quality setting, nothing else. Shadows on Very High makes your GPU work harder and anything lower than that, except naturally off, it makes the CPU work and you don't want that because it's already bottlenecked by the engine. So "Turn everything up to the max to increase performance" is a myth. It's only about the shadow quality and everything else can be turned up as much as your system can handle. Some of them like Object Quality is more about CPU power and things like PP effects are more about the GPU but they act like, the higher quality, the higher cost.

  4. Only problem in DayZ in my opinion is that you can't easily make people aware that you're close to them other than constantly singing in the microphone. I'd like to make sure that people near are aware that I'm close to them most of the time so they don't jump scare and shoot in panic when I'm suddenly saying "Hey!" right behind or in front of them. Though there needs to be a way to be sneaky when you want but I'd like to be also noisy sometimes. I sometimes stream my mic and cough or sing something stupid in towns just because of that but naturally I can't constantly do that or someone will think in my house that I'm not alright :D

    EVR Storms in Chernarus

    I really liked those storms because the environment really was kind of a threat. DayZ needs more those kind of PvE stuff. For the Vanilla there could be some different environmental challenge because those storms might not fit.

    It was available instantly. I don't know if it's in the Steam at all. At least Arma 3 Supporter edition wasn't.

    Hey good that you reminded me of this. I've the Supporter Edition in my BIStore already bought (since the release actually). When I press DETAIL it says "Login to Steam to redeem this game" What exactly happens when I login? Does it go straight to me and I can't gift it for anyone? Can I somehow gift the DayZ to my friend and get the extra things for myself, for example codes appear in the detail after I've logged with the Steam? How does it work?
  8. Yes we need presentages or numbers, not boxes. It works like that in Arma 3. It doesn't even matter currently what part of the inventory the thing in your hotbar is so I don't see any reason why the inventory even uses boxes... Actually can any of the devs even say is there any reason why the inventory is tetris boxed and not like above where everything is free? Or at least it should be way more free. i can undertand that you don't want to see a guy with 1000 pens in them :D

    23h days would be nice to have so in 24 days you should've had a chance to see every in-game hour even if you play every day at the same time. It's very aggressive currently in experimental like you said.

    Stamina Q3 but it's soon Q4 already so you meant Q4? I'll also say make stamina punishing but you could introduce "friend spawn" type of thing so you could choose some spawn places. Let's say divide coast in 6 areas you could choose to spawn so you could get somewhere close to your friend when you start playing the game. Otherwise people will always suicide spawn. - I'll add that playing and getting mods installed in DayZ wasn't really hard. It was actually 99% because of beta branch usage and Arma 2/OA <-> Steam version issues - Dat vehicle physics/suspension :o - I'm not interested with bases (walls like you say) but everything inside like generator sounds interesting - Soft skills sounds nice - Player KoS, yeah it's horrible that about 50% of the interactions go like "hey buddy" and he starts to shoot or engage you instantly, or says couple mocking words to feel like a big boy and bang. Good to hear that you're maybe bringing radios as starting gear. Hopefully you can make people to trust each other more and reasons to not shoot rather than shoot everyone without any punishment. /edited a lot.

    Abundance is Realism

    The setting doesn't have to be realistic for me. It can be pretty much whatever kind of apocalypse. Only the mechanics needs to have some realism for me. I just want to play a survival game that's hard/impossible to survive where meeting other survivor should be a god send. I don't care at all how much more there should be food and stuff around, unless there's just too much that it makes the game boring mess. I go for gameplay over "realism" with this topic.

    250h also here. I don't try to enjoy this game currently. Some times it can be enjoyable to test some (new) things but I don't try to make the time enjoyable. I mostly play 2h max in a session but generally under 1h.

    Do you even like PVP?

    In the end I don't want the DayZ to be PvP game like it has been since the 2012 Autumn (OK it was pretty bad already in the late summer). PvP opportunity is nice to have in the game and it greats different athmosphere, but giving other people's life no value and generally easy to survive against anything alone makes the PvP just like playing any other shooter. If the word PvP means this, then I don't like it.

    Interesting, even surprising stats.

    Most of those games are actually enjoyable to play for many and long sessions. DayZ is just a test when patch comes and then waiting for the next patch. No reason to burn out unfinished game now.

    Well only thing that has been really achieved was to bug the 1st person even more. It's sad and roughly said but it's true. 1st person is even more limited now.

    "Kind of forces". But still you can do whatever you want. Nothing isn't forcing you other than you yourself because you're afraid of the consequences of your actions. If you really want to play the game you can change the shard then and continue there. I bet there even would be shards where that rule isn't be forced. People even take high risks IRL. Nothing isn't even forcing you to not to be a mass murderer, you just don't enjoy that or you're afraid to take the risk with your life.

    No risk for being a dick. Also Banditry and KoS doesn't have any risk and exictement when you can instantly spawn even after murdering the whole Chernarus amount of players. Wouldn't it be much more exicting if you've killed couple players in one life that after death you couldn't spawn in the same shard for two days just for example? You could still do it but there's actually a risk or potential not playing in the server(s) you've the nice base with your friends for hours/days. This could also be even good against hackers :D For rough example public could be divided in three shards, EU, US and Asia. Die in an EU server and especially if you've been murdering people, you would be banned for playing in public EU servers for X days. You could still join US and Asian servers but naturally those have different characters because they're different shards just like private servers are different, so nothing carries over from US or Asia to the EU if/when you start to play again in there. There's always a server you could play in DayZ even with that kind of system because of Private Shards and SP. You're just limited if you start to live the risky banditry life ;)

    Less sway when walking while aiming down sights!

    You can go pretty fast IRL without much sway. Move your feet so they don't rise much kind of like you would be almost levitating above the ground. It fatigues but you can go stabile about jogging speed for short bursts or naturally just go slower for long time. Just watch some CQB training videos how people move and try it yourself. It should come naturally and you don't need train for that. On uneven ground it gets different. This is how we move in the game according to the sway: /\/\/\/\ But everyone should be able to go like this: ~~~~~~ or even ----------- especially when walking and even higher speed is possible for some time.
