Everyone's character is absent from main menu. They are out there hunting bandits at NWAF. -
You'll be more sucesfully in finding bulrap sacks for ghillie than finding night vision goggles.

You want to explore PVP areas? Fine, you get spawn in Cherno which doesn't exist anymore. According to iZurvive, there's around 7km more or less distance that you'll have to travel to get to NWAF, plus I don't count Zenelgorsk or Miskhino. Then, we check Solinichy spawn, the are where most people start off. It takes 9km to get to NWAF, plus even more if you want to go to Zelengorsk/Miskhino/Tisy. By getting placed far east, south-east, players are forced to explore map even more. You're PVP oriented. DayZ isn't PVP. Yes, the big part of the game is PVP because there's no end-game, but I don't want to get gunned down just a moment after I spawn on the coast. By going through numerous villages, your inventory will proggress more from civilian to military guns/clothing. So yeah, there's no logic behind moving actual spawns to south if we consider PVP aspect of the game. -

All you did was contradicted yourself. By placing spawns far east, players will be forced to explore the map even more. Also, the point of this game isn't all on PVP. Since spawns changed, I experienced drastically increased numbers of encounters in mid land area. Map feels more lively. -

You may be able to preview textures and objects if you have proper 3D modelling software, the rest of that, most likely no. There's just simply no offline mode. You can go on a private empty server where you can test stuff out.

I don't have enough time to read the whole SR right now, but holy beans! That GIF with interaction button! I waited a long time for that! That's so awesome. It'd be even more better if multiple-choice HUD was circle shaped so we could choose options like we do in Rust ( Hold E on the door, see what happens ). Also, you devs did really great job on 0.62! Sounds and vegetation bring a very refreshing stuff for the game! Last few updates starting 0.60's renderer were the best ones I've seen. You guys do really good job with each update, I'd only wish if you guys did the stable updates every 1-2 months.

Hi guys, so I've recently booted the game after a few months break. Played DayZ a little bit and there and that's all. Now, I was curious and I watched some YT videos with benchmarking results on setup that's very similar to mine, and I've noticed that there's a huge gap in FPS with mine and other people's FPS'es. Are there any usefull config files that are compatible with 0.62? I used to have pretty neat, personally 'tailored' cfg file that was huge FPS boost to me before the update with the renderer. I've somehow lost the file and I'm wondering, what settings can I change? And what's the limit of them so I can still see bandit's tiny little dot over the far distance? I'm affraid that I'll put the wrong number so I won't be albe to see people past, for example, 300 meters. Also, am I the only one here that gets FPS drops when I quickly turn the camera or zoom in? Also, why the shadows aren't completly turned off when I disable them? Sky's the same. I know this game is CPU eater, but I've been thinking, does DayZ also require lots of RAM? For the medium beast of PC that I have, I have very shamefull amount of GB's of RAM. Only six, yeah.... Specifications: FX8320E 3,3GHz ; RX 470 4GB ; 6 GB RAM

I've noticed that trees started to look ugly in distance as of 0.60's new renderer. But still, your graphic settings are low. -

You mean there are very few peices of canned food, right? That's the whole idea, it's right and it should stay like that. By doing that we get encouraged to do hunting/farming etc.

You just answered why it will never be added. F11 and click should do the trick, plus hungriness comes fast if you don't have gun to kill yourself with it, so it's not problem.

I wish I had internet-fist to bitch slap crying ranters who play DayZ for many hours and not contribute to anything in the development, instead they make accounts just to post rant threads instead of making bug reports.

Most of those things you've mentioned are soft skills, which will be later introduced in the development proccess. As for marksmanship and other combat abillities, devs said that they have no intention in messing around with that. When it comes to PvP, it'll be completly you. Your talent, your pure skill. You either die or survive, choice is on you. I don't think DayZ will have any kind of story, atleast devs said that, too. It just doesn't really add up. Bohemia's most succesfull game ( Arma ) isn't so much known for it's story. Yeah, DayZ COULD have few missions like Arma has showcase thingies, but I think that'll be all. Not the Last of Us type or anything. I think you want to see DayZ Wasteland. It might come when modding comes in the game.

How I imagine this in DayZ: Bandit tries to swing axe at you. You have fast reflexes so you press E to counter attack. Desync happens, you somehow break leg while the other dude dies because of blood loss. Combat mechanics like this hardly work in any game that isn't hand-to-hand combat based. Even ARMA doesn't have knife stab animations or something like that, because it'd be glitchy or wierd looking. Simulators can never get fluid enough to be like CoD, Battlefield, etc...
