Anyone care to speculate on what that code/script snippet is all about? Looks like a scripted event to me: if you're a white female character and kill 3 zombies you get a flare as a reward :)) what's that supposed to mean?

+100! I can't wait for this to become the game I always thought it would be... a survival simulator where you need to take your time and carefully plan each move, not a quake arena clone plus zombies, beans and minus the bunny jumps. -
By adopting this approach, we should aslo be able to shoot the bow while moving ;)

I'm not against having a different recipe for crafting bolts where instead of wooden sticks you would need some kind of metal/aluminium tubes which you should be able to find in those contruction and industrial areas

I still wonder why you can't craft crossbow bolts yet.... Should work the same as arrows crafting + maybe another action with a knife/machete to shorten the pointed stick...

I just killed a fully geared bandit on experimental last evening with 1 single MP-133 shot from 10-15m and 90% of his clothes got ruined. So either the shotgun power and/or damage system is broken on 0.50 stable and now fixed in experimental OR that guy was a cheater. I'm rather inclined to assume it was the latter.

did you ever visit Eastern European villages? I think most of the houses are pretty accurate in proportions, what I would love to see though is more diversity but they mentioned that adding more unique buildings is one of thier long term goals

I was playing on the dayztv.com private shard server lately. Seems cool, and the 2-3 people I ran into so far were very friendly, one actually had the upper hand on me while I was reorganizing my backpack but decided not to kill me, hopefully it stays that way ;) -
would have done the same! if you're not happy there are now lots of options to die, go jump off a roof, get kileld by Zs, drown yourslef, even start a fight without the moaning, whatever, just don't run arownd annoying other people and breaking their immersion :))

what if I told you you can join a low populated server (5-10) players and you're pretty much free to loot and test for most of the time. I'm actually doing this quite often.

the only new thing I se is setting compatiblity for WinXP...which is weird enough. How much difference does that really make? -

To balance this mechanic, the shock value of the fracture should increase faster due to the pain, but slow down if you stop moving and rest." Been there, done that. What I think we really need in the first place is the ability to crawl up/down stairs and rocks. However, here I would see the need for a new animation, but the guys should have no problem to motion caputure themselves dragging their arses up some stairs :)
