  2. Hi,

Those that have played DayZ for a long time might remember the UK/EU All Welcome MGDayZ server. We have decided to return to DayZ and setup a brand new DayZ Namalsk Server. We have modified it to be a little easier on survival (you don't need to light quite so many fires!), but have upped the loot to make it a fun experience to gear up. The best items are still at the harder to reach places so exploring is key. We are welcome to all play styles from lone wolves, to PVP hounds. However you like to play, you're welcome on our new server.

We have set the population to 40 as Namalsk is a smaller map, however, we will increase the max population size if needed.

    Filter for: [UK/EU] MGDayZ.info All Welcome |Namalsk |Vanilla+ |Friendly

Looking forward to seeing you there.

We are also seeking new admins and moderators so feel free to contact me about that as well.

  3. Name: UK/EU All Welcome.ELEKTRO PVP ZONE! HIGH LOOT TENTS!mgdayz.com

    Address: 109.70.149.88   Port: 2500

We at mgdayz.com have set a brand new 60 pop dayz server. We have established elecktro as a PVP ZONE and setup tents full of guns and loot around the city to help facilitate the combat. Go to elecktro at your own risk!  This is a private hive.

    See address above.

Ha ha you cry babys. If I pay for a server I don't want you taking stuff off it.. Play public you cheap bastard.

Sniveling and moaning snowflakes make me laugh.

He is playing on a public server. If you want to have a locked server then you need a private hive. It's not a matter of cry babys, you're a cheat and breaking the server rules if you have a locked server on the public hive.

  5. Any way I can report a hacker? I was laid prone on the top of the TEC building in Chero at somewhere between 13:50 and 13:54 CET today when I was insta-headshotted from God knows how far away.

I'm really not the type to cry out "hacker!!" every time I die in an awkward fashion but this had all the markings of it. Laid prone in an absolutely 100% safe corner surrounded by walls. There is absolutely no way you can shoot somebody laid prone at that position.

I used my initiative and worked out that you were probably the guy on the server called Colonel Burton. You were not actually head-shotted, you had a vehicle teleported onto your head. Sadly this particular hack doesn't show up in the logs as to who did it :(

Please provide your in-game name and we'll check the logs.

  7. current loot situation on private (and non wiped) servers is quite fine to me, weapons are still overabundant. i play a lot on UK/US/EU all welcome (very populated private hive) and i don't have trouble finding low tier and medium tier weapons. dynamic events still provides me MP5K's, AUGs and UMPs and SVD/M4 remain unicorns weapons. in a 3h sessions recently, i've found a few blaze, 1 hunting scope, 4-5 magnums, sporters, IZH 18/43, multiple makarov an P1 pistols. that's a little too mutch weapons for me. canned food is way to abundant too while backpacks are hard to find near spawn locations.

UK/EU/US never wipes persistence either, so I'm glad you're still seeing some items around the map. I agree about backpacks, they do seem a little rare on the eastern side of the map. I'd like to see a few more burlap sacks around to allow people to make an improvised backpack.

  8. Great idea but i wouldnt go because of the white listed. It would still be nice to have the random maniacs be able to join and attack the group rather than have a role playing hermit or bounty hunter attack.

Sadly without a whitelist, a 50 slot server would attract too many random players who would be unaware of the theme and lore of the server, which would just make it like every other private hive out there. Rules are unenforceable without a whitelist as people can play without having been made aware of the specific server rules and guidelines. Independent characters could be whatever they want, not just a bounty hunter or hermit, those are just examples. Most of the action would be between factions.

  9. Hi,

I've posted here rather than servers or recruitment page as this is an idea, and doesn't exist, and I'm not really trying to recruit, more garner the level of interest.

I'm a co-owner on a popular private hive server that is open to everyone to play, but lately I've been giving role-play servers a go and although I am enjoying the player interactions, I am finding the tedious rules that accompany these servers a little frustrating, leading to weird and often predictable encounters and taking away a lot of the surprise and fun of DayZ, and severely limiting the combat side of the game.

I also enjoy playing in a group, but often find on a standard server that we rarely come across another group of similar size that's a fair fight. Plus there is no real reason to fight other people other than for the sake of killing.

I've therefore been thinking about starting a new role-play server that will be faction based, starting with two main factions, plus a limited number of independent characters. The server will of course be private and white-listed and have a fully featured website.

When people register on the website they'll have an option of which faction to join (each faction will have an origin story, and a slightly different play style), they can write a short biography, and then apply for available roles within that faction. I do not intend to make the application process too complicated or time consuming.

Faction leaders can issue standing orders through the website, as well as post missions to be completed. A forum/blog system will allow people to post outcomes of missions, and gain rank and credit for successful missions completed. Each faction will have it's own "safetown" which will be strictly no PVP unless there is a server event ongoing(siege etc). PvP between people within the same faction will also be forbidden unless agreed to by both parties with justifiable reasons.

Outside of the safezones, combat will be open to all, although the factions would have standing orders to attempt capture rather than kill if safe to do so, and of course have rules against killing civilians without just cause. The factions or militias after all would be looking to restore some form of order to the chaos. The breaking of standing orders would be dealt with in-character, with the squad leader needing to post an after action report and facing in-character consequences if it breaks the general orders rather than requiring admin adjudication. (any reports would follow a template and not be too time consuming as this is a game after all, but the reports would add to the game lore, and be a means to decide promotions etc)

The main aim of the server would be to allow easy team play, with the senior ranked player in a faction on at any given time being able to form squads, issue orders for groups to patrol areas, or go on supply runs, or scout out enemy patrols and engage them in skirmishes. Each faction would have their own locked team-speak channels to issue out orders, with all faction members being required to be in teamspeak (but not in the same channel as that'd get loud). New players to a faction would be able to log-on and request orders and join up with a group, without having to already know people to play with.

For independent players, they would be able to play on a server with an established lore, and be anything from an independent bounty hunter, to a hermit that lives off the land avoiding the opposing militias.

I've played on servers across the world without having any real issues with ping, so I would be looking for this server to be international, ideally with players across North America and Europe so it stays populated throughout the night as well as daytime.

Consistent rule breakers would be removed from the server, so I would need active admins (I already have a few people for this, but more would likely be needed as the server grew)

Right now I'm looking to see how many people would be interested in playing on a server like this, so please PM me, or post your thoughts on this thread.

As I mentioned at the beginning, I already run a private hive server, so this isn't the pipe-dream of a kid (I'm in my thirties by the way). I have the means to set this up quite quickly, but this kind of thing needs a large number of people to make it work, so I'd like to build up a list of people that would want to be involved.

  10. That's where I think a dedicated skill system would help. If you have med capabilities and I don't have them, you might be a good partner for me to get me through my char life for instance. Skills could also be teachable or to be learnt from books, but an individual skill set, setting you apart from the person you meet would help there. No, it will not end PvP and PvP should remain part of the game in my opinion. Part of it, not the sole content, which it currently is.

As for scarcity - early 0.55 for me has seen much more player interaction than any following builds for the mere reason that not everyone was stuffed to death with guns and ammo. I have seen people actually trading ammo for food in game. Of course, they could have just tried to kill each other, but I reckon the person asking for ammo had a gun but no matching ammo and the other person, well, I dunno, maybe was just about to starve. Why go into a melee fight with uncertain end - so not everyone having 3 guns at the ready might be a benefit to interaction as well. And as someone who has a gun I probably would not immediately shppt anything that moves, since there would be many people I would not perceive as a direct threat.

Basically the biggest problem is, though, that there is little to do once geared and gearing is way too easy ever since 0.55 again.

I accept that you have a different stance on this issue, but that's what boards are there for after all.

    Have a good day.

A quick edit: As for modding support, I'm not even sure if this helps or if it further splits a declinign community between different mods - but this remains to be seen, I can see it go either way depending on how the actual mods look like.

The problem is, how exactly will they know the person they're killing has any required skills before they kill them? Are people with medical skills going to run in medical scrubs or paramedic uniforms all day? If people dressed as doctors get killed less, Bandits will dress as doctors, get close, and kill you. A skills system will make no difference to KOS, in fact it'll make it worse as a lot of people will play whatever "skill" gives them the best damage, or lets them be a tank.

  11. I dunno. Again like I said before, that's you guys' perspective on it. There are harsh games out there, that take several two hour evening sessions to get anywhere and they are played by casuals and working people just as much as hardcore gaming teenagers that have complete afternoons and evenings of time after coming home from school. Overly realistic mechanics in a game are a thing.

I mean it isn't by coincidence that among the first made and most downloaded mods for both Fallout3/NV and Skyrim are mods that add hunger/thirst, weather survival and harsher inventory limits that made the game deliberately harder and slower paced. Saying nobody would find that fun is just wrong. There are a lot of players out there that actually would find it very fun.

Which brings me back to the point that what DayZ needs is a solid and well implemented modding support. There is no way in hell the Devs are able to find a balance that pleases all kinds of players. We guys discussing here are just living proof I don't see us agreeing on the matter unless we are able to each have the ability to play the game the way we like best.

KOS happens so often because it's the preferred play-style of the majority of the player base of this game. Sure, a lot of people also enjoy the looting aspect, having to search around for stuff, and the survival side to a certain extent. It adds a little more realism to the murder simulator if you need to think about your health and what clothes to wear. You also know that your victim has also had to worry about similar health and clothing issues in his/her long or short life. DayZ is still essentially a looting and murder simulator (with a lot of running in between). If you're not the one murdering other people, then you're playing as the victim. It's what most of us enjoy about the game.

You might think that much harsher conditions and less supplies will create more player interaction in the game, and less KOS, you're wrong, it'd kill the game, and you'd be left playing on 5/30 servers, almost never seeing another player, and if you did see another player, 3 out of those 5 people will still kill you on sight for your stuff. I'm not saying I agree with this, but it's just how it is.

The developers get a lot more feedback when they add new guns, vehicles, helicopters and clothes than they do when they add new types of plants to grow. How many people do you see wearing the full tanned leather outfit shooting a bow and arrow? How often do you come across someone fishing at a pond? I like those aspects of the game, but they're not bringing in the players.

The devs will continue to add more ways to kill people because it's what the masses want, and if they're clever, they'll add more gore to make those kills that bit more satisfying. It's a sad truth, but if they added new ways to torture victims (flaying skin, cutting off limbs, burning people, being able to finely cut someone to scar them etc) then those mechanics would be used far more often than any of the crafting or survival aspects.

  12. Hey guys I'm kind of sick that pretty much everyone I find is fully geared with M4A1's on the Public servers (thanks to hopping). Can you guys hit me up with some full european Private DayZ servers? 3PP Persistance: On I would like. Are there any cons to play in a Private server? Are they any different?

I also have a private hive server based in the UK. See my signature.

  13. With the recent re-introduction of rain, many of us are finding ourselves getting wet and having to stick to the standard Gorka or Raincoat options to stay alive. I would like to therefore suggest a method to apply an Improvised water proofing to your clothing of choice.

I'd like to suggest a couple methods for this. The first would involve Animal lard, which would need to be melted in a cooking pot and then applied to an item of clothing. This could wear off after a while and need to be re-applied. The actual process of waterproofing with animal fat is obviously a little more complicated in real life, but this would be the simplified version of that in the game.

Another option would be to add randomly spawning bee's nests to the game. The bee's nests would provide wax for waterproofing and honey for consumption or use in cooking. They would also come with a risk of getting stung, and also a risk that your character is allergic to bee stings, so best not to be approached without an epi-pen.

The beeswax would again need to be put into a cooking pot (in the real world you'd need to add linseed, but for the sake of the game not having too many random items, just wax would be needed) and the melted wax applied to the clothing. You could have the wax be more effective by adding pine tar (pine wood again cooked in that cooking pot?) but that might get too complicated and require too many things to be added to the game.

Going forward this could be used to waterproof improvised tents.

  14. idk what the problem is of showing a bare chest tbh... I much prefer garrys choice here :P

I mean, if there is so much doubt, just give the female models a bra and thats it.

I think they should go down the route of full nudity (although you shouldn't ever spawn naked). Rust has wangs and all if I remember correctly.

  15. Drinking/eating animal blood I can understand, but covering yourself in blood seems incredibly unrealistic. It's honestly tantamount to that post-apocalyptic trope where people cover themselves in pots and pans and leather rags and call themselves 'raiders'. It's stupid. Nobody is going to react that way mere weeks following the downfall of society. Cannibalism arises out of necessity. Only the most mentally unstable Ed Gein types would douse themselves in the blood of their victims, and those people - would you know it - aren't all that common. 'Player freedoms' is a cop-out argument. "We should be able to skip and frolic from location to location, because player freedoms." "We should be able to smear vomit on walls, because player freedoms." "We should be able to sew people together because I am secretly Joseph Menge... ah, I mean playerfreedoms.exe."

Reminds me of that slew of "we should be able to rape players and wear their heads as trophies" posts from a while back. Not as bad as that, I'll grant, but almost as stupid.

I don't see the game as complete until I can make a human centipede from the players I capture.

  16. The reason i cant kill anyone is because i have a chambered cz527. I have searched around heli crashes and officers tent before my death but theres no m4

I see this as your problem, you're trying to run before you can walk. You have more options than a chambered cz527 or an M4. Maybe you should be looking for a 5 round clip and scope for the gun you have, rather than searching for the gun you're unlikely to find? It's easy enough to find yourself an SKS, ammo and PU scope. Then go and try and find yourself a side-arm, a CR75 or magnum are easy enough to get hold of. A waterproof jacket, some food and you're all good. Why do you NEED to find an m4 when you have nothing to begin with?

M4's are rare, the scopes are rare, the mags are rare, and the ammo is rare. You might get lucky, but more than likely you'll be server hopping for hours, maybe days before you find one. And then what? You're still just as likely to get killed with that M4 as you are with the Cz527. Sure you can spray and pray more, but that isn't going to help against a well aimed SKS or Blaze shot to your head. Also you've not a lot more chance of survival in a spraying match against an MP5. A gun is only ever as good as the person holding it, and I get the impression you're not that good. Play the game with the guns you find, and upgrade if you find a better one. Don't waste your life server hopping for "leet" gear that you'll lose the first time you see a hostile player.

  17. Umm, my post was about public vs private servers and being kicked in general, and therefor entirely relevant to the conversation. Secondly, your juvenile attempt to twist what i said into your own version is both obvious and silly, go back to school.

Private servers can also be linked to each other via a private shard just like public servers are, but i'm sure you knew that too..

Military loot is not working as intended however you cannot just gear up well from the glitched officer tents. The hundreds (thousands?) of server hoppers currently jumping in and out of tent city are a living proof that i am correct and you in fact are mistaken (play.. much... bro?).

Anyway with that all sorted, my first post was a general stab at people who complain about being kicked from empty servers. These people will complain loudly about the unfairness of loot servers and being kicked from them, blissfully unaware that server hopping (yes that is why they're constantly trying to log into 1/30 servers) is just as much an exploit as a personal loot server.

I didn't quote you the first time DeevoTe because i wasn't directly speaking about you. I was casting a general opinion that is often overlooked by a few. That said you sound quite butt-hurt about server hosting in general so i still group you in with the above.

People who aren't trying to server hop don't need to join empty servers, and weirdly don't get kicked very often at all ;) Also, all the server companies operate a similar policy atm not just Vilayer.

Lastly, please don't insult my intelligence then finish by calling me "bro" and completely failing to understand what's being said to you, the irony might be too much for all of us right now and you need to sit down before you hurt yourself.

This guy does raise a very valid point. The more you server hop on low population servers the more you'll get kicked.

  18. Oh wow someone is a bit pissy. This happened on the 14th, so 4 days ago, here is the bug report about it https://feedback.dayz.com/view.php?id=27780

Perhaps you should get your memory checked, in the mean time you owe me an apology =]

    I'm pretty certain you're not supposed to report admin abuse on the bug tracker (it isn't a bug) but rather contact the GSP's directly. Also your account on the bug tracker;

"Admin of server killed me on sight and to prevent me or friends from getting my gear back, admin restarted the server. This happened about 5 times in 20 minutes"

Doesn't sound a lot like the story you told earlier in this thread.

  19. What is the time for a body to disappear ?

I was like 15 min at the place where i died and i found nothing besides my weapon i dropped off before i die.

    Kinda fast...

I've noticed bodies in the open despawn within 5 minutes since the hotfix. It depends where they are. In some buildings they don't despawn at all and remain until a restart.
