    Moaning about death

You're of course correct. It is essential that a survival game have dozens of different types of guns, most of which are of a military grade. If I go hunting in real life, I always try and get hold of an Assault Rifle for it. Grenades are pretty essential to survival too. It turns out the server I was on actually did have an issue with it's loot which has now been fixed, thanks to Eugene and Multiplay. The problem is not as severe as I thought. I enjoy all play styles within DayZ, and find the survival element as enjoyable as the PVP. I'm not crying at all, however I can understand why those that have come here to only PVP, and have been playing a PVP intensive game might now be annoyed. It would be very ignorant to say this is only a survival game, and PVP is not a major factor to 90% of the player-base. Although I enjoy the PVP in DayZ, I am not a COD or Battlefield player. I don't like first person shooters, nor small maps, or 15 minute competitions etc. I wouldn't mind seeing less military grade, and complete guns in the game. I would love it if I could find a broken rifle, and then collect materials and tools and repair it, tweak it, and have to make my own bullets. Eugene might post this week saying this is a survival game, not a PVP game, however the only game the DayZ Devs have made for the last 12 months is a PVP game. Horticulture came in at the end of last year, it's still buggy, cooking meat is still buggy, picking fruit is a very tiresome process. However all the guns seem to kill people pretty easily, not many bugs there right? Also Biohaze, I don't remember swearing and using foul language in my post, therefore I see no need for your reply to do so. It's a discredit to the point you're trying to make, and to be honest makes you come across as a moron, which I'm sure you're not. I suggest you tidy it up into a more coherent argument.

    V3S is a Zombie 0.55

I always enjoyed watching a group of zombies being circled by a cow.

Can't get pumpkin seeds from pumpkins.

This is DayZ. Of course Horticulture is broken at the same time they take away most of the food loot spawns. It's like when wells broke at the same time everyone became dehydrated after 5 minutes in the sun :P Keep on playing, these will all become funny stories you can tell new players after the game is released when they moan about the game in it's complete state.

    Moaning about death

I think the issue is a large portion of the playerbase enjoyed the PVP dynamic of the game. They're not here for the survival part of the game, and as such not firing a gun for two days is not a game they want to play. It's all well and good saying this is"supposed" to be a survival game, and not a PVP game, however for the best part of a year they've made DayZ into a PVP intensive game, and in one update taken a lot of that away (other than fire extinguisher/broom death matches in Elektro). I can understand why many people are annoyed. I have no issues at all surviving and living off the land in this game, what annoys me is that so many players are now not able to get geared and energised/hydrated and find their way inland for me to kill. I managed to have a 45 minute undisturbed nap in the ATC at NWAF yesterday on a 50 pop server. If you do head to the east coast as a geared player then all you have to look forward to is being begged repeatedly for food. They're not even trying to bash your brains in with a hammer anymore, just begging for food. It's like going to a Calcutta ghetto. I might put on an OREL uniform and a UN helmet, fill a backpack up with my homegrown zucchini's and pumpkins and head to Kamyshovo in a truck delivering food to the needy.

    DayZ needs more loot

When your leg breaks randomly in the ATC or the firestation at NWAF, you'll be glad of those boots.
  7. You mean.. he found the fabled female voice over direct chat (that didn't turn out to be a 12 year old boy)?
  8. I'm pretty certain that doesn't work anymore. However they may have rebooted to stop you taking his gear in a fit of juvenile rage.

    Lack of Appropriate Servers

I guess a lot of people only get to play in the evening and therefore don't wish to only play at night. I had the real time on my server for 1 day, and it went from having 50 people on it, to having 6 people, and once this was turned off, back to 50. I won't be turning it back on.

    How did i get killed?

There appears to be a new hack that people are using to avoid detection in the death logs. Twice now I have been in a safe location, ground floor, and suddenly I get the "You are Dead" screen. What makes this different is that there is no option to respawn, and the people I'm with told me my character is just stood there, and not dead. I re-log and I'm alive again, not a fresh spawn. I would think this was just a glitch with the game and not a hack, however the second time it happened, shortly after re-logging and being alive I killed another player that happened to be very close to me, and upon checking his gear he was an exact clone of me. Same weapon, all the same gear in protector cases etc, everything identical. He had shot back at me, and I checked his pulse etc so know it wasn't just a glitched clone of me from when I relogged.
  11. Hi, We as admins, and those that donate always try spamming the join button first, and if after a couple minutes we can't get in we use the kick button. Not a lot of people get kicked for donaters per day as 75% of the time they can get in without it. I know that for the amount I have paid towards this server, I am certainly not going to sit around for an extended period of time to get into my own server, and will kick people through Rcon so I can get in. BEC even has a "Make Room" command that kicks the last 5 people that joined, this is something we don't use. We are not a charity, we are a game server, and therefore I see it as fine to provide a few little perks to those that donate. By donating they're telling us that this server is their home, and their priority server to play on, and as such we'll reward that. To be clear, I have added to the MOTD upon server login that we kick to make room for donaters. This will take effect at the next scheduled restart. I can remove your ban if you wish.

What is going on? - "Bec Service has been terminated."

The response from multiplay;- "As you may have seen reported the popular server control system BEC has been discontinued by the author. However, for those of you with BEC layers with us this will continue to be supported and remain working. BEC Layer hosting can still be purchased via our website."
  13. Loot does not really respawn at restarts on private persistent servers, as well as crashes not refreshing or in some cases even being visible.
  14. Hey, I'm not sure if you're aware but it's a very costly thing having a 50 player private shard server. We rely on people donating to keep the server running, and as such people that donate towards the costs will always get priority over those that don't. This includes access to a whitelisted persistent server and priority login (IE we kick the last person that joined or the person with the highest ping). That This is a private server and it is perfectly within the hosting rules to kick players for any reason we see fit. I think it is fair that we only ever use kick for hackers or to make room for those that donate. We could use BEC's reserved slots however this would mean that when there were no admin or donators around there would be empty slots in the server, and battleye would kick everyone that joined. It's much better that we kick on an adhoc basis. As a rule it's always last in, first kicked.

I killed a deer with an axe on saturday night, and saw a couple others. They can't be that sensitive.

I just thought I'd let you know...

Yeah, I'd like to go all Shaun of the Dead on people with a cricket bat.
  18. Most servers (including mine), will have a message of the day with some form of contact details, be it a website or teamspeak address. Most also use the BEC scheduler to send in game messages every 10 minutes or so with further contact details.

why doesn't the bipod fit on the mosion?!

Anything over 500m SHOULD BE DIFFICULT! Do you seriously want to be able to sit in the hills 1000m's away and pick off random people without any skill or challenge? I've dropped people at 700m+ and I'm a mediocre sniper, I have friends who can hit consistently at 900-1000m. Sniping should be tough, and above 500m it should be very difficult, not just a matter of pointing and clicking. L2P

    Nutrition/Hydration is Ridiculous

You seem to spend a lot of time on the forums and within a game you outwardly seem to dislike so much. There are plenty of finished, released games out there. Try one of those and come back when the game is done. People might take some notice of you if you have a valid complaint about a finished game.

Guide to etiquette? How to be new right?

Next time someone comes at you with a pitchfork, circle them and keep punching their head. You've got a better chance of knocking them out then they have of killing you with the pitchfork. There is no rules when acting "new". People can always kill you, even on a private server that states strictly no PVP, the game still allows you to be killed, and there is nothing anyone can do about it until after you're dead. So with this in mind, as someone as previously stated, get used to being killed, embrace it, and get to a 50 pop server and see how many people you can kill before you get killed! I recommend finding a decent blunt force object such as a frying pan, cooking pot or the easiest to find a stone (get to the beach, look down, press f to search for stones). Put it in your hands and then find a decent ambush spot in a busy place. Behind a door, crouched hidden in a bush, in a shed behind the door, basically anywhere that people can't see you until they come in. These blunt objects will knock someone out first hit to the head (unless they've got a helmet on). Try and knock someone out with gear. For quickest looting, drop all of your own fresh spawn clothes on the floor as soon as you knock them out, and then quickly drag all of their stuff onto you, and then thank them over voicechat, and run away before they wake up.

    How We Got Our M4's.

Did those M4's have the exact same attachments by any chance? And did the attachements/guns have the exact same pristine/worn/damaged rating?
