Only read the first post, but in response to the OP, you really did not have to create a thread for this. It was already well known fact that events such as this would occur when server hosts create silly rules that cannot be properly enforced. And before I begin reading anyone else's replies to the OP, I will state this much: Don't feed the troll. Lawl. -
Badmins should not have the function to kick players without 3rd party tools (hacks) yet, I believe. I may be wrong, though.

While that does suck and I feel sorry for you, I guess log out in a bush in the middle of nowhere instead of logging out at a hotspot? XD

If someone combat logs on you, you were probably impatient and didn't get a good shot off, so it's partially your fault. A combat log timer like in Dayz mod, if tweaked a bit to be better than it was, would solve all the combat log problems. Banning is never a good solution to any problem except hackers.

Interesting to read all these stories of people not encountering KoS players yet. I've been gatted twice, and swung at with fists by generally every unarmed player I've encountered. I think the only people who haven't tried to jump me didn't see me. All my deaths were by m4a1's when I wasn't even aware of the player, or just spotted them last minute lol. Long story short, KoS hasn't changed a dime, and I didn't expect any different. :P Afterall, there are next to no zombies around and thus not much else for people to do other than run around guns/fists 'a blazing lol.

I'd def say that making loot spawn more frequently than "once a restart" is of a lot higher priority than vehicles. And I am really looking forward to vehicles.. So far things are looking pretty good though. GJ and merry xmas!

I just got shot down while fullsprinting in complete darkness at balota. Very highly suspicious.. people have NVG already? Give me a break. On top of that, I was unable to respawn afterwards, maybe due to the server being riddled with script injection and pooching out. My gamma was maxed and my clouds were off (yeah it's pretty desperate) as well so I was already at optimal vision conditions. It was PURE DARKNESS on the server and I got merc'd super quick under highly suspicious circumstances.. Hmmmm not cool.

I agree with Dean. He is adding more content and clothing items. I can see why some people don't like it, as it might not fit your idea of what the atmosphere should consist of in DayZ; but in all actuality, you are complaining about more ways to personalize your character. Really?? If you don't like it, don't wear it. If you don't like someone else because they are wearing it, shoot them. If someone was wearing a My Little Pony mask, I for one would put a 9mm between their eyes. But I wouldn't start a thread to complain about it. If you're concerned about Dean "wasting his time" implementing items like this into the game, consider the fact that you wasted his time to have him post in this thread to defend the fact he has added more clothing items to customize your character with. I for one, strongly support adding more clothing items to customize your character with.. with the rare exception being MLP content, lol. edit: On a final note, masks do not seem out of place at all in DayZ. In real life, a bandit would wear a mask to conceal their identity so they are not recognized by the public as a criminal, so what makes DayZ any different. -

I think people will just try harder to headshot so they leave (most) containers undamaged.. lol. Doesn't really provide a cold-cut solution, I think we need hardcore zombie/PvE threat in order to yield the masses. edit: On a similar note, I've been shot at by Hero-skinned players when I was not a bandit and did not fire at him first. So in the current state the game is in, it's hard NOT to kill-on-sight when even heroes run around like it's a call of duty free-for-all. -

Needs more/harder zombies.. wandering hordes.. more infection/disease.. actual PvE threat.. :thumbsup: Does anyone remember the one patch where food spawns were so incredibly scarce, you were better off killing zombies for their canned food drops? It only lasted a few days.. But it was awesome.. in order to survive, you had to be noisy, which was risky and dangerous..those were the days. -

Uh, Rocket posted right on www.dayzgame.com that either the alpha or beta (I forget which one) would be released to the community by the end of 2012, no matter what. One thing led to another (Rocket wanting to handle calculations server-side rather than client-side), and now it's the end of July and we're still waiting on an alpha/beta release.. lolllll. I'd take everything the devs say with a grain of salt until a legitimate release date is announced, and not a hypothetical release date "approximate" like a month. While I do hate waiting, I would hate a broken game ala "WarZ / Infestation" even more. The real sad thing here is that people keep buying Infestation and they are cashing in on the success of Dayz since it is taking so bloody long to release.. Also, useless features that only 15% of the community will use like in-game internet radio seem to be slowing down the progress all the more. Features like this are seriously the type of feature that should be added post launch, or at least post-beta for sure. -_- In the meantime, I am enjoying Arma3 quite a bit. They really did an amazing job with it, they fixed everything horribly wrong with Arma2 (the not-so-good optimization/controls/graphics).

If there was an apocalypse, there would be trashed cars needing repair / empty fuel vehicles everywhere. What on earth are you talking about? Do you think everyone grabbed a car and bailed the country already? Then why are there hundreds of zombies and no cars haha. Can't be just the sick and those too poor to afford a car left. Maybe you're thinking of perfect condition cars not existing anywhere, to which I would strongly agree. In fact, right now most Chernarus servers seem like a ghost country due to the fact there is next to ZERO cars. Did all these people take the bus and walk everywhere? There should be more bicycles even LOL. A 400+ vehicle lingor server I played on was one of the only servers with a seemingly-realistic amount of vehicles, to be brutally honest, where there was about 3-4 damaged cars per village. A realistic amount. -

It's this exact type of mentality that caused EA games to decide to implement microtransactions into EVERY SINGLE GAME THEY WORK ON / WITH. LOL. News just came in today, read it if you don't believe me (though you most likely will since its EA games, lol): http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-27-ea-putting-micro-transactions-into-all-of-our-games And while it's just EA games today, who's to say what companies won't follow suite tomorrow? GG WP sheeple. Disregarding / not reporting a crime is considering condoning it, so to speak. You condone microtransactions in every possible game? No. Just no. XD There are other ways of supporting a game / server than getting a leg up on what should be fair grounds.. -

Two words. Lingor Island. Unfortunately though, the main populated server I played on is hackslapped daily and is now pretty much unplayable. And the other populated server has starting loadouts (fail). Dunno what to tell you now :( -

Sadly the only populated servers with a decent ping I can find sell G17's/AKM's and other crap to donators. So it's not as completely avoidable as some may say. That and my favorite server (a lingor one that was heavily populated) is now hackslapped twice if not more a day, and is basically unplayable due to rollbacks happening 24/7. So yes I agree this whole donating for loot crap should be removed. -
What weapons damage helicopters? Only grenades/armor penetrating sniper rifles, or do other weapons damage them as well? I tried doing a search but could not find any info on this, so some information would be much appreciated. Since I keep reading that M107's and AS50's are being taken out of loot tables for servers, I think it would be super one-sided to remove the only counter to the already-overpowered helicopters. Thanks.

May I ask where you disabled hyperthreading? In BIOS, windows, or arma 2? I am curious now since my performance is pretty bad with a core i7 and I added hyperthreading startup parameters to arma 2 and it didn't do much. TY. edit: Also, to the poster above, supporting multiple processors is not the same as supporting hyperthreading, a feature proprietary to solely Intel processors :P If hyperthreading isn't supported it could cause more harm than good being enabled I believe. -
Looks great, but ew, don't remove as50's and m107's unless you remove helicopters as well.. Remove one superpower that is the only counter to another superpower and next thing we know it's gonna be a gongshow of heli rape :( as if they weren't powerful enough? I'm not suggesting removal of helicopters per say, but seriously don't remove the ONLY counter to them. XD

I'm surprised how 99% of people posting here think he was serious about the 19:39 comments revolving around defecation. 20:55 sums it up best. "Ah yeah so don't step in the poo." Ahahaha, sounds like a sense of humor and people are getting worked up over it, thinking its legit LOL
