For some reason the choices are pretty limited from the 4 ireland pc websites I've checked. Literally couldn't find any of the latest series (r9) graphics cards except this one. I don't think DayZ likes AMD CPU's too much atm, but then again it isn't optimized much and everyone has issues with framerates, even on $2,000+ rigs I hear. edit: Damnit just noticed the 260x is an r7, not r9 card. A generation or two old. Hmm might need to look at other stuff again lol.

What is your price range you are willing to spend? Im bored at work (no calls = no work to do) so not a problem at all to help out. As a child my father always got PC's with great CPU's but terrible GPU's so I cannot wish the same upon anyone lol. I found a few online pc stores located in Ireland (dabs.ie, komplett.ie and elara.ie), read a little online and someone said their motherboard was cheapest from dabs so I'll just checkout dabs for pc's.

I think AMD is leading the better graphics cards in terms of value for your dollar at the moment, and Intel is leading CPU's in terms of value per dollar. Tell me where you're shipping to and I can maybe do a bit of research for you to find a pre-built desktop with the best specs for your dollar. The HD 8670D is an APU (CPU+GPU combined) and isn't too great for gaming. The HD 6570 is a low end graphics card as well. The R7 260X, though, is a medium/upper-end dedicated graphics card. It would be ideal to get an Intel Core i5/i7 CPU with an AMD 200X-series graphics card at this time, but finding that combination might be a bit difficult. Well, there's your first problem. Firing at a fast-moving target from 400 metres away should not be easy to begin with. Second, it's alpha. I'm betting the netcode will not settle to adequate levels during this time frame. Everyone is playing this alpha criticising the living s*** out of it, when it is not even half complete. Quit trying to play it for enjoyment when it is a test-bed for a final product, one that is actually made for enjoyment. Want to nerf player movespeed because you're having difficulties hitting a full-sprinting target at 400 metres. Bugger off, lol. It'll get easier when the netcode is touched-up. Patience.. Soon™

Zzz... Bows already suck, stop trying to butcher them more for the sake of "realism". If I had my way with realism, there would be broken down cars and working vehicles with empty fuel tanks everywhere. That's an apocalypse. But then there will be the people qq'ing saying it should be endgame content only. You really can't win it all.

Half the reason the devs were working on things like loot balancing during Alpha is so the game can be somewhat playable still. So people will/may WANT to play the game, and help them alpha test. If you have a problem with it, you shouldn't have bought into an alpha/beta game. I'd say come back in a year when the game is more refined. We get several of these threads every week. We already understand not everyone agrees with the developers choices. It is something you must put up with. TL;DR, alpher, deal with it? B)

Run/sprint speed is fine. If you can't shoot a sprinting target, that's your problem. Don't make it ours. edit: It already got nerfed down from the fisticuffs sprinting speed anyways lol. It's fine the way it is.

I like the current speed of sprinting (so getting around without vehicles isn't extremely time consuming). However, I agree with this statement: The shock condition could last 5-15s or so depending on the cartridge.

Uhhh I don't know how playable that will be due to the integrated Radeon HD 7560D graphics. See this benchmark for an idea of how it matches up versus other cards of this generation and last generation (note: the benchmark is not a gaming benchmark, but still gives you a basic idea of it's capabilities). http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+HD+7560D I would recommend a dedicated videocard at the very least. APU's have the CPU+GPU merged into one chip, and may not provide the best experience for gaming, at least compared to a dedicated standalone video card. You might be able to play the game, but be far from maxing it out. Also, it's worth noting that nearly everyone has bad performance in cities. The game isn't even version 0.50 yet, so it isn't very well optimized at this time. In cities, most of us have bad framerates, even people with two videocards in SLI/Crossfire, I hear.

I don't think that's stopped them from delaying a build before (note the word "think", I can't confirm this). Since they usually want something new and flashy for every PAX event.. ..am I the only one who thinks there are too many PAX's? Lol. Bring on the rain. The more PvE challenges the better. People should try DayZ mod Namalsk out sometime. Just staying warm is a bit of a task in itself, especially when you climb the high mountain peaks. However, night is still a bit of a pain. I think with a much, much higher max playercount on servers (80-100 players) they would be exciting. Until then, they would be pretty dull. Heck even 24/7 daytime servers are pretty dull with 40 players. 1 player per 5.5 square kilometers on average = don't see much action, if any at all sometimes. In the dark, well.. unless people are rocking flashlights (which the smarter players won't due to hilarious visibility), you literally won't even encounter people at all. Just my $0.02 on the matter.

I agree. I like that mags are fairly rare, so gunfights are mostly composed of chambering rounds which leaves melee to be a strong option. I axed someone on the yacht a couple weeks ago since they had to chamber rounds one by one. note: I also generally play on max pop. hardcore servers that often have 4 hour restarts; so I find loot amounts to be just right.

This. I have never yet been taken captive and never will. Also, complaining about KoS in a game that is purely about such, probably means this game isn't for you. I'd suggest finding another game, I'm sure there are other survival games out there that are single-player; that or find a group to hunt with. Safety in numbers. Not trying to be a jerk about it, but there really isn't much to do in DayZ besides killing zombies and players. It is kind of what first person shooters, you know, are about. Killing stuff. A coworker I know hasn't gotten the game yet because he knows the game is purely just sadistic chaos. Lol. Definition of sadism: Any enjoyment in being cruel. I have my own morals and ethics in-game though, I generally don't merc unarmed or melee-armed players, unless I deem them a large threat or am maybe having a bad day and need to vent on a poor soul. :) Also some tips regarding the following: Two mistakes: First being never let people handcuff you. Go out swinging. You had nothing to lose, and even if you did, it's not like your chances are better letting people capture you. Second, don't drop your gear for them lol. Never negotiate with terrorists. I'd rather have my gear trashed by them after they cap me so they have less to gain from my loss. I hope my post is informative and benefits you in some way. I doubt groups will ever get that large, they will all murder each other with friendly fire and it would be hilarious. Also, me and a friend haven't seen any teleporters or speedhackers in about 50 hours each of play. Maybe questionable hackers such as eating tons of bullets but nothing as clear cut and evident as that form of hacking. I totally agree we need greater than 40 player servers. There is just nothing happening, and only encountering players 2-3 times in a 4 hour session is extremely dry.

IIRC, they were testing 100 player servers on experimental for a lil' bit. That happened about 2~ish months ago? And we never heard of it since. :(
