So, are vehicles coming in 0.50 or not?

Camoflaging my weapons is important, yo. Don't be hatin'. In regards to original topic question, as people have stated before: It must hit experimental before it releases on stable, so it is extremely doubtful vehicle(s) will be released in patch 0.50.

Eating and drinking system - Please, just give it up.

This thread is 10 pages longer than it needs to be. Having to eat and drink often is not meant to be realistic, it's meant to add some PvE survival elements so there is some depth to the game. Also, for what it's worth, I have not had any issues with eating/drinking survival since I started playing SA. The single time I had issues was before loot respawn was implemented, and I was in a group of 3 with beginners and was giving them my food to show them the ropes and get them started. If you are struggling, you might need to work on that.

    Christmas Ceasefire

I think the problem here is that PvE barely exists at the moment. Sooo taking away PvP, even momentarily, is taking away generally any and all satisfaction of the game right now. On that note, I'm not necessarily saying I refuse to participate in the ceasefire, just that it seems to be asking alot from people; and in that sense doesn't seem to be a realistic expectation. Lol. Now in the mod where we actually had a fair number of zombies to be somewhat of a threat (although still not much of one to the experienced hardcore player), it was at least plausible. Running around without any threat of players just seems too easy, so I probably won't even play on xmas. But then again I don't play that much already since I'm waiting for a more polished state, more PvE threat in general to be specific. The game is awesome for what is is though. I've been playing this series since the DayZmod 0.60 days.

    Hopes for 0.50 stable

I just want a single vehicle so I can get my friends to play again (yeah, they are pretty lame like that). I assume it def. won't happen in this patch due to lack of discussion about it appearing in experimental, so hooopefully it will come next patch. B)

Why no kill logs on private shard?

I never had issues in the mod with admins that could access kill logs. If I killed an admin or their clan member and they kicked/banned me (I think it may have happened a few times at max over the course of my dayz life), I would just avoid their server like the plague and inform my friends of this shady activity as well. It was just one character I lost, I could care less. Rule #1, never get attached to your gear. Problem is, sometimes the only preferred server at the time (Lingor, low ping, 1st person only) had badmins that would tele their friends around/spawn loot and such. There always has to be one tool that ruins it for the rest of the community.

Thank you for that video. Very useful information. Bean'd.

New map in the future?...whats the rumours?

Lingor is all I want for maps. Well, others would be nice too. But from what I've experienced in the hundreds of hours in the mod and SA, every variant of Chernarus is way too big for the playerbase supported. Until we see 100+ player servers, it's basically just running about for 30-60 minutes until experiencing player interaction. Which would be alright if there were, you know, zombies around. 'Tis alpha though. Thing is, I'd play Lingor right now on DayZmod if anyone would bloody host it. Instead everyone hosts Epoch, Overwatch and so on; the 20~some variants of Chernarus, are kind of lame. I don't want traders, starting loadouts, vaults and playerbases that are locked down except to whoever pays2win. So bad. I just want smaller maps or bigger player amounts. Namalsk, Panthera and some others were great as well. Redoing Chernarus is pointless, thats what Chernarus+ was for in SA.

Need motivation to play 3p view servers

I use 3PP just for the sole purpose of having a second character to mess around on. 1PP for le srs mode >:( rage

1.0 can't come soon enough, huh.

    Staying warm...

Fully clothed, including face mask bandana, but without a vest and I find myself freezing quite quickly as well. I do not carry logs/fireplace kits everywhere, that is too much to carry and is silly. Matches + a fireaxe is all I need, as when I am freezing I just cut logs and make a fireplace on the fly.

Playing without a mic (or when you can't use a mic)

People who use voice chat (this goes for all games), in my experience, talk too much and annoy me. So I don't use it at all really. First thing I do when I load up FPS games is disable server-wide voicechat. Local voicechat is generally fine, and doesn't drown out my apocalypse music. Lol, maybe I'm a minority in this, but I'd rather stay that way than join the majority of people who run their mouth in-game and tell me their life story. I am the reserved wanderer, I suppose. If I need to get a point across, I will type it even though I have a mic.

    What ever happened to jumping?

Watching that gif, still laughing after 10th+ view. My jaw hurts a bit now. :( LOL. I like how he climbs up the ladder ever-so-slowly, inch by inch, knowing impeding doom is creeping up on his poor pantsless soul.

    1st person dying breed

I've noticed this too. Just one week ago, there were 3-4 full or near-full 1st-person servers. Now, there is one full server at best, or even none with the most populated being 10/40 people. I don't want to play on the see through walls / around corners servers.. Bleh.

Anybody remember when Dean Hall said...

60 player Chernarus servers in the mod felt much more lively for one main reason (in my opinion): vehicles. Vehicles were quite loud and easily visible, thus high vehicle population servers made it seem like more action was occurring. People running around on foot are alot more sneaky and stealthy, and that is a reason player interaction seems like less than it is. A bit higher server population (60-80 minimum) + vehicles = alot more visible/noticable player activity. Key words here are visible/noticeable. In the end, I think once the game is actually completed (version 1.0) and there are private hives available for server hosts to tinker with the amount of vehicles/loot/players/etc they want on their server, everyone will find the server that has their ideal DayZ experience. Personally I like alot of vehicles and more players, but that is just me. If you do not, then there will be a server to cater to your playstyle/preferences as well. I am not the type to force upon you what I think is best, which is why I think private hives will be a godsend. Good things come in time, often it takes a long time. A reason why MGS5:TPP will be 10x better than any CoD game. 5 years of development vs. 1 year of development. Lol.

    Hack in my server

Long story short: If you have issues with the limited amount of admin controls for your rented private shard server, wait on private hive servers to be released before renting a server. Instead, none of you have properly read the Terms of Agreement for renting your private shard (note: SHARD, NOT HIVE) and as a result, you are whining like children because you don't have x admin controls, which you shouldn't because it's still technically a public server, not an entirely private one. -A private hive has a character entirely seperate from the other servers. Your character exists on your server and only that server. -A private shard's characters are migratable to other non-private-hive servers (so only other public/private shard servers), thus you cannot password lock the server because it's unfair to farm gear on a passworded server then join a public server and start gunning people down with your gear you farmed in a zero-risk environment. Private shards and private hives are two completely different things. Private hives are not available yet, and the admin controls for them are still being developed. If I made any errors in my explanations, please correct me.

    More ammo ASAP

TL;DR Let the server hosts decide on high ammo spawns or not. Note, this would be for private "hives", not "shards". (Shards have alot more limited and constricted choices, such as not being able to alter loot tables). That way everyone can be happy and don't need to rage at each other all the time over who enjoys what style of gameplay. You guys forcing what you think is best for the game (low ammo, high ammo) etc makes me sick and reminds me of Mormons coming to my door to push religion on me. (Even then I hear them out, and once they start contradicting themselves I send them packin'). The guy made a simple suggestion, and people start throwing verbal stones. Let the server hosts control what they want in their private hive, dammit.

    Which is better?

I'll repost the links I posted on page 1. Best Gaming CPUs For The Money: August 2014 http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html Best Graphics Cards For The Money: August 2014 http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html Useful stuff. BTW, we're still in mid-September so there are not monthly reviews for September 2014 yet.

    Which is better?

    1. http://www.aria.co.uk/Systems/Gaming+Range/Next+Day+Gaming+PCs/GLADIATOR+GTX+760+FX-8350+4.0GHz+8x+Core+Next+Day+Gaming+PC+?productId=59318 2. http://www.novatech.co.uk/pc/range/novatechblacknti126.html If these sites ship to Ireland, definitely go this route. The #1 link I listed is actually better than the pixmania pc I listed earlier in this thread. This one has better CPU and double the size of harddrive, and is still somehow 50 euros cheaper (and if the "free delivery" is not available for Ireland, that 50 euros saved can go towards shipping). All other specs are the same (8 gb ram, gtx 760, etc). Adding an OS would be another 70 euros roughly though. The #2 link I listed is 95 euros more, but has a better CPU (4th gen core i5), better graphics card (r9 280x) and a 120GB solid state harddrive on top of the existing 2TB harddrive. If you can save some extra pennies, these all add up pretty quick and would future proof you're pc for the games coming out in the future. Once again, no OS so you'd have to tack that on the price as well. Personally I'd try to save the extra hundred bucks for an overall better PC if you can stretch that budget a bit, since combined better CPU, GPU and HD would result in a pretty beast pc. My 4 years old PC has a solidstate harddrive and you can really feel the difference in basic tasks. It boots up in like 6 seconds flat lol. No joke. If you can't, well, the other gtx 760 pc is still pretty great. Cheers bro.

    One night i imagine this

As long as we can lure them to people with smokes like luring zombies in the mod, all will be well with the world.
  22. bonesnap

    Which is better?

Yeah, my bad. The best bang for the buck fluctuates so often. Even at certain price points AMD can be better here, and Nvidia better there. It's ironic that the best rig I could find at that price point was the opposite of the what I thought was best price/performance brand for the specified computer part. To be honest Ireland pc stores seem very limited. At the same time you don't want to pay $50-100+ bucks on shipping from far away though. Personally I go to www.tomshardware.com and find their roundups for best price/performance of CPU's and GPU's for the month. That site is great. Most useful info right here if anyone is looking to build their own computer: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html When you buy a premade PC though, you can't be as picky as you'd like to be. :(
  23. bonesnap

    Which is better?

Looking back on the original pc's you listed, for yeah about 150 euros more, you get a graphics card roughly 6x more powerful (according to the Passmark G3D benchmarks anyways), and a slightly better CPU. I guess those GTX 760's are pretty beastly. Apparently 2 of those in SLI outperforms an Nvidia Titan, lol. I would just hate to see someone drop almost a grand on a PC and it would have a joke for a videocard. Enjoy your new rig, and maybe see you on DayZ in the near-future! edit: You can add me if you want. I don't play DayZ too often, but I go by the name dizz in-game. My steam account name is Mariweed. Never hurts to have a bigger crew to roll with B) 2nd edit: Hope you're reading this, because I just noticed that pc doesn't come with an Operating System. There's always a catch when you find the best deal XD

    Which is better?

Also for what it's worth, I think the #3 rig I listed with the GTX 760 card should be able to play dayz on medium-high if not near-max settings (once the game is optimized properly, of course). No problem dude.

    Which is better?

Alright, I found 3 other decent rigs: 1. http://www.pixmania.ie/desktop-computer/sedatech-pc-gamer-expert-amd-fx-6100-6x3-3ghz-geforce-gtx660-4gb-ram-500gb-usb-3-0-full-hd-1080p-80-psu-cardreader/11874065-a.html 2. http://www.pixmania.ie/desktop-computer/sedatech-pc-gamer-expert-amd-fx-6300-6x3-5ghz-radeon-hd7850-4gb-ram-1000gb-usb-3-0-full-hd-1080p-80-psu/11874054-a.html 3. http://www.pixmania.ie/desktop-computer/sedatech-pc-gamer-expert-amd-fx-6300-6x3-5ghz-geforce-gtx760-8gb-ram-1000gb-usb-3-0-full-hd-1080p-80-psu-cardreader/22136755-a.html #3 is slightly over your budget, but is probably the best setup by far. For $75 over your budget (not including taxes), you get 4 gb more ram, and a better videocard. The GTX 760 is about 28% better overall vs the radeon hd 7850. Couple useful links comparing the two videocards (in the second link you can see framerates for some current games: Battlefield 3 maxed out at 1080p runs at about 108 FPS on the GTX 760, though they didn't specify the rest of the computer specs) http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=882&gid2=676&compare=geforce-gtx-760-vs-radeon-hd-7850 http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/778?vs=854 Personally I'd save the extra hundred bucks and get #3. A little goes a long way if you plan on using that pc for the next 4-6 years like most people do, including myself. edit: #3 also has a decent cpu compared to the rig I listed with the AMD FX-4350 (4.3GHz) processor. The FX-6300 is slower clocked (3.5GHz), but is 6-core, not 4-core. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/AMD-FX-6300-vs-AMD-FX-4350 If anyone can find a better setup around 500-700 euros feel free, but this was the best I could find. I punched in late for work from my lunchbreak since I spaced out, so I hope you appreciate all this research, lol. Cheers.
