Beware where you put it, I mean beware which server you're playing on, some DO NOT have persistence enabled (some do no even tell us if they're configured for persistence). I personally do not own any tent so I cannot be sure but from other threads it seems like if you leave your tent empty it will be erased on next restart.

Now that 0.49 is up and running does anybody know if the "Suppressor 45 ACP" can be looted somewhere?

After the wipe I had only one thing in mind, get my gear back, I almost succeeded, yet I couldn't find my favourite AK101 and only found an AKM with no magazines and no attachments.

It doesn't look like a military base, could it be a refugee camp (before the civilians are evacuated)? This would explain why there's only food in there.

Because you think the devs are making different looting tables for each military facility? Don't you think they have a looting table for each kind of structure, anywhere it is? That kind of tent will loot these items, this one these items, etc. And this anywhere on the map.

Don't dump your firefighter axe, it's the best melee weapon in game, it's not only a one hit kill but also a tool that you can use to chop wood, open canned food. The pickaxe is fine but not versatile as the firefighter axe is. If you can't kill the Z with the axe it's probably because you're not close enough, run round the Z and go closer and closer targeting their head and hit when you're behind the Z. Even better, if you have to opportunity just attack them from behind.

I just finished a raid on NWAF, in fact not really, I was half way of pillaging the hangars when I saw a Z running, probably after another player and as I found a AKM with no mags and had no other fireweapon I decided it was time to go the hell out of here. Moreover I cannot tell if the loot in military facilities is now so scarce that you can barely find a mag or if it is releated to the population increase on the servers since they released 0.49 which would explain the rarity of some items. Based on my raid on NWAF I can say the following: These tents have stuff like military clothing, binoculars, military food and different kind of ammo (haven't seen 0.22, quite logical) These tents have nothing in them (I found nothing, no clothing, no ammo, no binoculars or scopes, nothing) These tents had no loot either The nest has some military clothing in it but nothing else The hangars loot mountain backpacks and small firearms such as the Makarov For assault rifles you will have to look inside baracks. Prisons are the place for gear like ballistic helmets, berets, military boots, canned food. The round military tent with a door has clothings and I found an SKS but it could have been dropped by a player.

I can only agree. I will add FPS has dropped slightly although this can be because of the amount of people that have come back when 0.49 was released.

Yesterday pretty much all the servers were going crazy so I won't discuss what happened yesterday but today I had the same issue whatever the server, for me doors are broken or barely work as they should, I have to move for 15-30 seconds around the door in order to have the icon appear and even if I see the icon I have to click many times to see the door moving.

No idea, just experiencing the same as you do. Open/Close doors works as intended 1/5, pretty nasty when you have Zs on your tail.

I checked that myself as well and there seems to be nothing in these where on 0.48 you could find wellies or shoes and other stuff like that. Yet the whole looting mechanism seems to have changed for far more scarce loot. This takes the direction of a survival game as DayZ should be so there's not much to complain about, walking for hours to find a pair of pristine shoes, kill each other for an empty mag and celebrate with a can of beans when you find a gun.

I think they changed the amount of Z's in cities making it more difficult to wander on your own, this is fine for me, yet the Z's are as glichy as before, it seems it's even worse now. I sneaked behind one, hit it in the head with a shovel it felt on the ground unconscious, then I kept bashing it but hitting nothing but thin air, it woke up, I hit it about a dozen times targetting his head and yet nothing and I died. Moreover, it seems like they're able to detect us through walls from a very long distance and spawn from nowhere right behind you. I was in Novo, I watched from a distance a house I wanted to loot for about 3 minutes from different angles and spotted no Z's in the vicinity, I enter the house, find nothing valuable and go out the same way heading for the forest and that Z comes from nowhere behind that wall I checked just before I started to run for cover. With 0.49 loot seems way more scarce than before, I'm having hard times finding a melee weapon, I found that splinter axe that was damaged, chopped some firewood and after a couple of trees the axe got ruined. Of course a splinter axe as we all know is not meant to chop wood. Good loot spots are gone too, there was that place north of Novo where I could always find some good gear, especially around the trucks, but now there's no more loot around these trucks and the buildings barely have anything of use. It seems like those new towns north are not yet implemented but Novo and those free from Z cities now belong to the deads too. We'll have to adapt, avoid cities if on our own and make sure we always have rags or bandages as Z encounters outcome seem more random than ever before. Right now I'm heading west for the NWAF looking for better gear but I need something more efficient that a stun baton before I risk everything. Damn I love this game, now that it's tougher than before.

Radiation: No, in DayZ there's no radiation. Yet, as I'm no expert in nuclear power plants, I cannot tell if there's some security system that lowers the graphite bars in order to stop the nuclear reaction if the regular maintenance is not done. Moreover, contamination is at a such small scale that survivors nearby a nuclear plant that has melted have NOT one bit of chance to survive without proper decontamination. Contamination is not something you can see, there are no trees glowing in the dark, snakes the size of a dragon or any other noticeable proof that a region has been contaminated. Pripyat looks like any other town that has been abandoned, only years after noticeable sign of the contamination have been seen on newborns. So it won't bring anything to the game experience. Leveling Up: Well, this is no State Of Decay. Increase in strength and stamina should in no way be close to what has been implemented in SoD. IRL it takes way longer to built up stamina or being stronger. If any level up system has to be implemented I would like something like: after 3 months of running 4 hours per day you stamina starts to increase slightly up and after 2 years of in game time (yeah 2 years not less) you reach the maximum of stamina that you can have. Same for strength. The level up system as you depicted it will just kill the game in matter of weeks. If characteristics have to be implemented and not visible of course, I'd say STAMINA, STRENGHT, DEXTERITY. And this should be tested for a long time to see how it impacts the game. Skills: Why not, skills could be implemented but as for the above, nothing of these things should be implemented before cheaters and hackers are wiped out.

Each time I hear someone screaming "Friendly" I want to open fire, especially on french servers as this has been used by bandits so many times. I'd rather say: "Hey l'ami" --> "Hey buddy". Pronounciation: The "a" should be pronounced like in "Arma", "m" is "m" and the "i" is "ee", so "Hey l'amee".

I quite like the idea, this could add new possibilities for those who role play: "Where are the antibiotics? Johnny had them in his backpack when the Zs killed him! F**k, the nearest hospital is at half an hour, we need to find him and get these back!".

This forum is about troubleshooting, it means trying to isolate the problem, fastest thing the guy can do is to remove some RAM modules and see if that solves the instability, we don't care about performance here. If having less RAM solves his problem he can go further and reinstall his OS in 64bit but it will take way longer than just open the case remove a RAM module and check. Reinstalling before he even tries the easiest and fastest thing is actually the most idiotic thing to do.

Yep, the guy that approaches the other has to make sure he's not putting the other under pressure, otherwise bad things can happen. It happened to me about 10 days ago, I was in Lopatino after a successful raid on NWAF, I was looking for food when suddenly a guy in military gear shows up, I raise my AK101 to force him take cover, he screams "I'm friendly, I'm friendly, I know I have a Mosin but it's not loaded", in one blink on an eye I told myself "look this guy has found you, he claims he has no ammo despite being near NWAF, I'm in Lopatino, this place is surrounded by open fields, no forest where to flee, that guy is not alone, for sure he's trying to trick me, that house nearby has an upper floor, that's my only chance, running for cover in the forest means death, I need to take my chances and go in that house at the upper floor where I cannot be sniped or flanked". And I was right, the guy was not alone, I could hear him chatting with his friends, probably 3 at least. Then the guy I saw made the mistake to enter the upper room and I sent him about 10 rounds in his body to make him understand I don't like to be approached like that. They chatted a bit while their friend was agonizing downstairs, I was ready for an epic last stand, only a grenade could kill me but they gave up. If you want to socialize with someone then don't put the other under pressure, F1 or any other key is of no use, it may sound paranoid but my life is more important than theirs to me, better safe than sorry.

KoS means Killed on Sight, this means you don't have the time to start socializing, pressing any key to say "Hi" or anything else will not help. We're in 2014, having a headset with a mic is cheaper than DayZ. Personally I don't reply using my mic, if I'm in a situation where I need to use my mic (I have one) it means I got caught by surprise and I open fire whatever I hear. It's up to the guy that's taking you by surprise to make sure he's doing everything right. If someone approaches me and I'm not aware of him I just KoS.

Your CPU is 8 years old, do you have an onboard graphic card (embedded in the motherboard)? If so, I'm afraid your computer is obsolete for DayZ. In 2006 (when your CPU was manufactured) AGP was the bus used for graphic cards, there's hardly any chance that you can upgrade your computer as AGP slots have disappeared. In fact, purchasing a new computer will be cheaper that than trying to upgrade your hardware.
